Penitentiary and Post-Penitentiary care in the Czech Republic

Aim of my diploma thesis is to describe the system of penitentiary and post-penitentiary care in the Czech republic and determine whether and how it works link these two components in practice. This thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical one and a practical one. In the theoretical part I explain the expressions and the subjects that provide this care in our republic. I also try to clarify the purpose and the sense of this care and the relations between penitentiary and post-penitentiary care. I deal with the conception of work with defendant and convicted people, as well, and with the possibilities of work with clients in jail. I cpecify problems of this work in details. Last but not lest i mention upbriding, education and employment of people in the course of custody and imprisonment. The practical part of my diploma thesis is based on my praktice in the jailhouse Praha - Ruzyně that I manager in the course my studies. I start with guilty and convict clients there, then I mention the structure of the working team of specialist. The possibilities of the clients regarding the treatment is procedure, education and employment in this jailhouse make an important part of this diploma work. The penal carew in the prison in Knyšperk nad Ohří in light of social pedagogic

The theme of this thesis is presentation of the theoretical and practical activities of the Czech Republic Prison Service in a resocialization of convicts from the social pedagogy perspective. The theoretical part of the thesis is defined by the basic theoretical issues related to rehabilitation of prisoners, an interpretation of the legal measures, methods of educational function and activities of teaching staff involved in a re-education of prisoners. An activity treatment program of prison Kynsperk nad Ohri in terms of socio-pedagogical and convicted points of view is analyzed in the empirical part of this thesis then.

Risky Behaviour of Injecting Drug Users in Prison Settings

Risky behaviour in prison is very frequently international theme in last twenty years. Epidemic situation in some foreign prisons, which involved IDU too, asked for details studies and introduction certain measure. There are missing quality researches and good knowledge about this area in czech setting. The goal of my bachelor work is to probe into this problem. I want to find out the information about incarcerated persons, especially if they show some types of risky behaviours and if duration of the punishment and using patterns before incarceration influence these behaviours. I use a method of a quantitative research, the questionnaires. My research was realized in 2010 between active drug users released from prison. There are 22 respondents in my research so it is not possible to generalize acquired data. I recommend next continuing in this study, especially linking-up with more institutions and raise funds for extensive study.

Unconditional imprisonment

I have chosen this topic because of my interest in criminal law in general. Two years ago I visited one of the largest prisons in the Czech Republic, the Valdice prison, which is situated only 20 km far from my hometown, Semily. I realized that unconditional imprisonment is a really interesting and complicated theme. The Czech prison system has recently suffered from particular problems and the aim of my thesis is to identify these problems and suggest solutions. My thesis is composed of five chapters. Chapter One is introductory and defines the basic term - sentence and its purpose. Chapter Two deals with relevant Czech legislation and consists of four parts. Part One focuses on the most important principles of imposing punishments, such as principle of legality, principle of subsidiarity, etc. Part Two analyzes the role of unconditional imprisonment in the sentencing structure. Part Three describes duration of unconditional imprisonment and Part Four reviews two types of extraordinary sentences. Chapter Three concentrates on execution of unconditional imprisonment. The topic of my final thesis is a design of a new building prison. The building is designed as prison with supervision. The building is situated on a flat terrain on the selected piece of land in a city of Jindřichův Hradec. The building has three above-gound floors and one underground floor. The building is designed of a cast-in-place reinforced concrete wall system. The roof is made as warm flat roof. The main entrance is west-facing. The project documentation which is needed for a realization of the new building is worked up with six structural details. Drawing part was processed in a computer program ArchiCAD.

Payroll System with Remuneration and Analysis of Wages in the Prison Servise of the Czech republik

The thesis deals with the form of employment and remuneration of persons in prison and employees of the prison service. In the theoretical part of the study examines the position of the prison service in the public sector and the expenditure of the approved budget, drawing on the salary of employees and prisoners. Another important point are conditions of employment and remuneration of prisoners. It is further explained, a sample payroll posting their billing and related regulations. In the practical part are examples of calculating the wages of the prisoners listed for the performance of the work and the staff in the staff and employment. Also includes a procedure of allocation of remuneration of imprisoned person and of the employees.

Prison in Moravské Budějovice

Theme of this diploma thesis is a newly buil building of prison in Moravské Budějovice. The buiding has four ground floors and is without cellar. The structural system of the building is made up of permanent formwork and system Porotherm. Ceiling construction is made up of reinforced hollow core slab. The building is covered with a flat roof.

This master`s thesis deals with the project of prison block. It confers about slab-on-ground four-floor object, which is projected from ceramic blocks Porotherm. The roof is flat single-layered. The capacity of this prison block is 192 prisoners. The main entrance is oriented to the south and service entrance to the north. Prison cells are oriented to the east and to the west. The work contains drawings and technical descriptions and it is composed as an implementing project.

Jail Hrotovice

This thesis called THE HROTOVICE JAIL consists of the project documentation of the cell block 1 and the kitchen building. The block 1 has got three floors and the kitchen building has got one floor. Both structures have got the flat roof. The block 1 consists of two-way skeletal system of ferroconcrete and it is walled by the POROTHERM system. The kitchen building also consists of the POROTHERM system. Both buildings are insulated by insulation system with EPS.
