Microsurfacing
Koudelka, Tomáš ; Stehlík,, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on slurry surfacing technology, particularly on microsurfacing. The theoretical part describes various issues of this technology: composition, manufacturing process, ecology, storage, making and design of the mixture. The practical part presents results of cohesion tests, wearing tests, consolidation and breaking time that has been performed on the mixture for microsurfacing. During the tests, the temperature of both bitumen emulsion and aggregate has been changed several times.
Influence of selected active compounds for properties of gel and emulsion cosmetics
Gardoňová, Lenka ; Pekař, Miloslav (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
This master‘s thesis studies problems of chosen active substances in cosmetic emulsions and gels. There is their main characteristics – distribution and properties of cosmetic emulsions and gels, preparation of the active substances, effects on the skin and conditions, which could them influence. In experimental part, preparation of gels and emulsions bases was described which were than enriched by active substances - evening primrose oil, hemp oil, Salvia officinalis extract, Symphytum officinale extract and sea salt. Properties of these cosmetic gels and emulsions bases with the addition of active substances depend on temperature and method of storage, amount of light exposure, method of preparation and another conditions. Action of these factors can cause changes of the stability, thereby the cosmetics effects on the skin can be lost. On the bases of performed rheology measurements (oscillation and flow measurements), pH measurements and sensory analysis were determined, if the properties of examined samples were changed. The measurement was performed in the certain time intervals and the properties were evaluated like at laboratory temperature 23±2 °C, so after exposure to temperature regime 37 °C in thermoregulator. On the basis of performed measurements, there was determined, that gel base with addition of Symphytum officinale extract had the most stability properties.
Study of thermal properties of selected coloids
Křivánková, Kateřina ; Krouská, Jitka (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the study of the thermal properties of colloidal systems, especially the properties of emulsions (water, oil), which can be used in the cosmetic industry as an essential component of various lotions and creams and in the food industry. In the introduction the first defined thermo-physical processes (conduction, convection and radiation) and temperature measurement (stationary, transient). Furthermore defined physical parameters (heat and thermal conductivity, heat capacity), that are determined using transient methods. The measured data were collected and analyzed by using the EMA (Electrical Measurement Analyser) and the HarFA (Harmonic and Fractal Image Analyser). The results will be used to determine the optimum conditions for the production of cosmetics and dietary supplements.
Optical properties of protective emulsions
Valasová, Denisa ; Veselý, Michal (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is aimed to the study of optical properties of protective commercially available emulsions. Chosen emulsions should be responsible for sun protection. They also may be used in cosmetic industry. In the beginning of the thesis, there are defined theoretical features of emulsions and their interaction with UV radiation. Methods which are used to describe optical properties could be found in this section too. The optical properties were measured in thin layer films, in order to simulate emulsions applied on the human skin. UV-VIS spectrophotometry was mainly used to study the optical properties. The obtained results could serve, purely hypothetically, like sun protective tests of chosen emulsions.
Process fluid on a CNC machines
Lolek, Jan ; Dvořáček, Jan (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The work is focused on the classification of process fluids for CNC machines, their characteristics, suitability particularly in the machining operations and workpiece material. The next section evaluates the contamination of process fluids in companies, which can occur during machining. The next chapter provides an overview of work equipment used in modern CNC machines and is used for filtration and maintanance of process fluids. In the last part are returns of investment on a smaller filter equipment and a central system for several machines. In this chapter is evaluated with examples from real productions .This issue was discussed with the experts from industry, especially employees of the company IKV Ltd., which is a supplier of accessories for CNC machines. Equipment supplied by this company is primarily used to reduce the defects of industrial production.
Utilization of bees products in cosmetics
Kobza, Martin ; Bednář, Michal (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the problem of utilization of bees products in cosmetics. The aim of this thesis was to elaborate a literature review focused on individual bee products, their properties and their utilization in cosmetics. Honey, beeswax, propolis, pollen, royal jelly, apisin are said to be the bee products. Properties, utilization, determination of kvalitative properties and aplication into cosmetic products of individual bee products are mentioned in this thesis. Beeswax is used in production of lipsticks, creams and for basis of smears (oily creams). Royal jelly is aplicated into lotions, face masks, lipsticks, night creams, hair waters, hydration preparations etc. Honey is used for preparation of shower gels, soaps, body milks, hydration creams. Propolis is added into creams, body milks, body lotions, shampoos, lipsticks, soaps and mouth sprays. Pollen has significant content of vitamins, aminoacids and other substances in nature form for cosmetics. These substances are important for nutrition, regeneration and hydration of skin. Apisin is used in pharmacologic preparations, like healing creams and smears.
Development and assessment of selected properties of emulsion cosmetics
Kuchyňová, Jitka ; Souralová Popelková, Miriam (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis focuses on assessment of selected properties of emulsion cosmetic product called Soothing face mask, which is produced by SynCare company. Thesis is targeted on rheological properties of the product. Basic rheological properties were measured by Brookfield viscosimeter in experimental part of the thesis. Short part of the text is dedicated to thermic analysis field, which may provide some useful pieces of information for storage of products in cryogenic temperature and development of emulsion products with good cryogenic-temperature resistance. Chemical properties of Soothing face mask product are expressed by description of particular characteristics of cosmetic ingredients in the product.
Basic ingredients of fatty phase and their influence on stability of cosmetic emulsions
Krätschmerová, Kateřina ; Souralová Popelková, Miriam (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the problem of stability cosmetic emulsion. The aim of this thesis was to elaborate a literature review focused on ingredients of fatty phase and their influence on stability of cosmetic emulsions. Emulsions are heterogeneous two-phase dispersive systems. They are formed from two immiscible liquids: one constitutes the droplets which are dispersed in the other liquid. They are classified into emulsion O/W (oil-in-water), W/O (water-in-oil) and multiple emulsions O/W/O and W/O/W (oil-in-water-in-oil, water-in-oil-in-water). In the midst of basic ingredients of fatty phase range raw material of crude petroleum, vegetable oils, animal fats, waxes and sterols. Crude petroleum materials belong to stable components of lipid phase, whereas vegetable oil and animal fats are unstable components and have to be stabilized by adding of suitable stabilizer.
