of the bachelor thesis Hybrid compound words in the most recent vocabulary In this bachelor thesis we treat the issue of hybrid compounds not only as an isolated linguistic phenomena, but as a part of language development of contemporary society and its vocabulary, which reflects social expression needs. Theoretical part of the thesis is based on knowledge about language tendencies and about dynamics of the media discourse. The core of the thesis is represented by the treatise on word-formation problems and classification of hybrid compounds with first international constituent complying with meaning "quantity, intensity, extent". In the corpus analysis, which was performed on material of two corpuses of media texts, SYN2006pub and SYN2009pub, were included components with general quantity-intensity semantics (mini-, mikro-, nano-, super-, maxi-, multi-, extra-, ultra-, mega-, giga-, makro-, monstr, top-) and also constituents with numeral meaning (mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-). As a high productive we consider the first set of components, which became involved in many spheres across the vocabulary of current social communication. Position of Numerals in the Parts of Speech System

This thesis deals with the definition of numerals and its position in the system of words classes. First, briefly describes the history and current attitudes to general issue of parts- of- speech classification in the context of foreign and Czech linguistics. Subsequently, a different theoretical concepts Czech linguistics devoted to the issue of speech numerals from the mid-20th century to the present. Based on the contextual analysis of data from the database of the Czech National Corpus then verifies the current classification criteria of parts-of-speech classification. At the same time tests on a prototypical numerals new approach to the definition of numerals as separate species, based on the context units surveyed. Finally submits proposals that are based on statistically processed outputs of contextual analysis. Absolute constructions with infinitive In Spanish and their Czech equivalents

The topic of the thesis is absolute constructions with the infinitive in Spanish and their Czech equivalents. The work is divided in two parts: theoretical and practical. The aim of the theoretical part is to define general characteristics of absolute constructions with the infinitive, their formal classification in the system of non-finite clauses and theoretical analysis of selected prepositional phrases with infinitive: a (al), de, con, por, sin, tras, antés de and después de. The practical part is focused on the confrontation of theoretical assumptions with the real texts: whether written works or the oral records. For the statistic data there were used the online resourcese - parallel Czech-Spanish corpus InterCorp and Spanish monolingual corpus CREA.
Phrasemes in the work by M. Viewegh and their Czech Translations. A Corpus Analysis.

This thesis deals with contrastive phraseology. It compares the use of phrasemes in the work by M. Viewegh and their German translations, with focus on somatic phrasemes. The thesis is conceived as a corpus analysis. For the purpose of the thesis was chosen three Vieweghs texts and their German translations from the InterCorp corpus for comparison. InterCorp is a parallel corpus that was created at the Institute of the Czech National Corpus at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague. The object of the work is to describe differences or correspondences in the use of somatic phrasemes in the work by Viewegh and its German translations. Negative Prefixes in the present-day French

The aim of this work is to describe, with use of specialised literature, the characteristics of negative prefixes in present-day French. Then we will observe the correctness of observing the rules of application of these prefixes and study the frequency of their use. For this research, we will employ the methods of frequency and corpus analysis. This work is divided into two main parts and both contain several subchapters. In the theoretical part, we will explain the terms connected to language and word-formation in general, then we will focus on derivation and prefixes. On the basis of the Le Petit Robert dictionary and the other specialised literature, we will define the negative prefixes and describe their rules of usage. The following practical part will deal with corpus analysis of these prefixes.
The Expression of Concession in the present-day French (corpus analysis - Intercorp)

This bachelor thesis focuses on expressing concession relation in contemporary French. The thesis objective is to describe how is concession expressed in French, and compare it with Czech equivalents. The work is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. First, theoretical, clarifies basic terms and introduces main and secondary means used to express concession relation. Second, practical, was worked on using parallel corpus Intercorp and deals with the hypothesis mentioned in first part, which are either confirmed or disproved.
Periphrastic Verbal Constructions in the Present-day French and its Czech equivalents

The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to describe questions about periphrastic verbal structures in French and their connection to terms of the verbal aspect and to the character of the verbal action. Consequently there is a comparison of Czech respondents of those preriphrastic verbal structures by means of analysis in corpus. This thesis is divided into two parts : the first one is theoretical and the second one is practical. In the theoretical part I have described periphrastic verbal structures, their types and their connection to the verbal aspect and the character of the verbal action in French language. In the practical part there are the results of the analysis in the parallel corpus Intercorp. You can find there the description of Czech respondents of chosen periphrastic verbal structures.
Compound Nouns (type V+N) in the Present-day French

This Bachelor´s thesis deals with compound nouns V+N in the Present-day French. The aim of this paper is to describe French compounds V+N, to find them in the corpus and to make a comparison to Czech equivalents. This thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part presents French compounds and their classifications according to different linguists. It is concluded by detailed description of coumpounds V+N. The second part is practical and it is analysis composed by using parallel corpus InterCorp. It includes comparison of found French compounds V+N to Czech equivalents in terms of word formation.
Gérondif in French and its Czech Equivalents (Corpus Analysis - Intercorp)

Annotation The topic of the work is French gérondif. The work is divided into two main parts. The first part the theoretical one describes the form and deals with usage of Czech present participle, that is to say presumed system equivalent of French gerund. A current Czech usage usually opts for another form of formulation that is why the work tries to describe those minutely. In this part hypothesis about possible translation of French gerund into Czech are formulated. In the second part called corpus analysis, the work concerns with already formulated hypothesis that tries to argue against.
