Numerical modelling of Li-S batteries
Mezera, Petr ; Jaššo, Kamil (referee) ; Mačák, Martin (advisor)
This work deals with modeling and simulation of Li-S batteries in Matlab. The work describes the properties of these batteries, their construction and the problems associated with their development. Furthermore, experimental techniques and their importance for numerical modeling of batteries are discussed. Different types of battery modeling are described in the work, then numerical models for simulations are analyzed in more detail. The procedure for making the Li-S battery is described and the measurements made on it are described. The measured data has been adapted for use in several different ECMs. Finally, models of a replacement circuit for the Li-S battery were built. One model accounted for the polynomial equations and the other the resulting circuit. The latter used linear interpolation and was more accurate.
Analysis of parameters influencing the properties of batteries in space applications
Redek, Lukáš ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on analysis of the parametres influencing the properties of batteries in space applications, especialy at low temperatures. Theoretical part contains the basic issues of technology, basic concepts and knowlege. In the main part of this work is measurement and evaluation of low temperature influence on basic electrical properties of batteries.
Negative Electrode for Sodium-ion batteries
Šimek, Antonín ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on the research of negative electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries. It contains a general introduction to the issue of batteries, their brief historical development, basic operating principles, key parameters and classification. Attention is paid to lithium-ion batteries, which are the most used technology today. Sodium-ion batteries as their potential replacement, especially in the field of energy storage from renewable sources, are based on lithium-ion technology. Promising candidates for the material for the negative electrode of sodium-ion batteries are sodium titanates. Their synthesis and subsequent electrochemical characterization of electrodes using sodium titanate as the active material are included in the practical part of this work.
Model Of Electric Energy Storage Using Openmodelica
Abdallah, Hadi
The following work deals with power-to-gas, an electric energy storage technology that converts excess electricity produced mainly by renewable energy sources to synthetic natural gas. A model in OpenModelica is further presented. The model consists of a photovoltaic plant and its connection to the electric grid, as well as a model of electrical energy storage in batteries for purposes of comparison.
Study Of Electrode Materials For Post-Lithium Ion Systems
Kekelák, Miroslav
This article describes a lithium-sulfur battery. The next section describes the shortcomings of these types of batteries and describes the function of the binders in the batteries. The last part of the article presents a description of the experiment, which includes used materials.
Study Of Life Cycle Of The Accumulators
Babieska, Lukáš
This article presents the issue of changing the parameters of a Li-Ion accumulator during its life cycle. The introduction briefly describes the theory of accumulator charging and discharging and the effect of temperature on these processes. The next part introduces practical measurements and changes of parameters of two different accumulators.
Cyclic tests of lithium storage systems
Koňak, Tomáš ; Mastný, Petr (referee) ; Morávek, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis focused on problematics of cyclic tests of lithium storage systems. The thesis introduces the methods of accumulation of electricity. The practical part deals with the assembly of a workplace for the implementation of automatic discharging and charging cycles.
Study of the degradation of Li-ion batteries using electrochemical and other nondestructive methods
Gavalierová, Veronika ; Binar, Tomáš (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the study of the degradation of Li-ion cells, using non-destructive methods. The theoretical part contains the basic issues of the technology, basic concepts and knowledge. Next, we move on to the practical part, where we verify the described methods in practice.
Accumulation of electricity from renewable sources
Plíšek, Petr ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of accumulation of electricity produced by renewable sources. The first part focuses on the description of possible ways of accumulation, especially with focus on those methods, that are suitable for renewable energy sources. The next part deals with the design of the accumulation energy in the compressed air for the selected photovoltaic power plant. The necessity of designing a particular method of energy storage, is also its technical and economic analysis, which is the content of the last part of the thesis.
Airplanes powered by eletric energy
Behúl, Michal ; Hlinka, Jiří (referee) ; Bencalík, Karol (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is electric propulsion used in airplanes and overview of airplanes with this kind of propulsion. Thesis is divided into three main parts. First part describes electric propulsion systems, mainly descriptions of batteries. Second part describes chosen airplanes with electric propulsion in use and promising prototypes still in development. Third part is construction design of electrical propulsion system with 50 kW motor, mainly focusing on computing needs for batteries.
