This thesis deals with issue of grate boilers. It describes their properties, function principles and usage. The main part of this thesis is design of grate boiler burning biomass with steam output 96.4 tons/hour. Steam temperature and pressure at the output are 490 °C and 8.1 MPa.
Energy and water demand of washing process

The thesis presents a professional washing process in washer-extractor. The aim is to appoint water and energy consumption during a washing cycle based on archive data from Laboratory of energy intensive process, NETME Centre. The data have been measured during washing with steam heating and washing with electric heating. Obtained data are processed via MS Excel software and they are used for simple economic evaluation of washing cycle.
Steam Flow Measurement Error Analysis

The thesis deals with analysis of measurement uncertainty. The theoretical knowledge presented in opening chapters is applied on indirect steam flow measurement by orifice plate. Calculation of steam flow is based on knowledge of pressure difference value, static pressure value and temperature. The data are acquired by experimental measurement in laboratory. The mass flow rate uncertainty is determined by normalized procedure (according to standard ČSN EN ISO 5167) and by detailed error analysis (according to standard ČSN ISO 5168) for comparison. Whole numerical computation employs python programming language in Spyder environment. Other computation result is steam consumption of washing cycle.

This bachelor's thesis is about the design of a steam generator for a nuclear power plant. The opening chapters are purely theoretical, with the first one covering nuclear energy as such, the next one continuing with the search for different types of parogenerators and their subsequent comparison. This is followed by a calculation section dealing with the thermal calculation of the parogenerator for the given parameters.
Draft dual pressure horizontal waste heat boiler for gas turbine on natural gas

This thesis deals with waste heat boiler for turbines burning natural gas. According to the given parameters of flue gas and vapor are carried out thermal balance and design of the boiler heating surfaces and calculated the dimensions and arrangement of heat transfer surfaces in the boiler followed by treatment with a drawing of the boiler.

Bachelor’s thesis deals with the possibilities of measurement and test immissions on the medical workplace. It acquaints with the gasses immissions occurring mainly on the surgery. It is focused on possible ways of detection. The Bachelor’s thesis describes techniques of detection offered by companies Brüel & Kjaer and LumaSense Technologies. For comparison, there is given the possibility of detection by Geotechnical Instruments. The final section is dedicated to system of measurement air immissions on the medical workplace, especially to surgery.
Steam backpressure turbine with integrated gearbox for the drive of the compressor

The master’s thesis deals with the design of steam back-pressure turbine with integrated gearbox for compressor drive according to given parameters. The first part of the thesis is literature review which comprises a general division of steam turbines, especially a description of the types of blading. Furthermore, it describes the conversion of energy in the steam turbine stage in detail. The second part of the thesis contains calculations and includes the design of the flow parts of the steam turbine, the design of the outlet and the integrated gearbox. Attached to this work are drawings of a simplified section of the steam turbine with a gearbox and the layout drawing of the machine.
Biotic interactions in epiphytic lichen communities

The objective of my bachelor's thesis is to review available literature on biotic interactions in epiphytic lichen communities. At first the epiphytic habitat is defined. The next part deals with the interactions, specifically competition and predation. Lichens compete for light and space among each other and with other cryptogams at the same time. There are a few known mechanisms of competition, most of them being based on overgrowing of thalli and chemical action. Thallus morphology, growth rate and content of allelochemicals are the main traits determining success in competition. Competitive abilities depend on various abiotic factors as well as on total composition of the community. Lichens are forced to invest in chemical defence by the presence of herbivores and parasites. Distribution of the defence substances matches the optimal defence theory. There is numerous evidence that biotic interactions modify characteristics of both individuals and species, mainly considering the secondary metabolites content and the width of the realized ecological niche. Competitors and predators may determine species distribution. The thesis summarises the knowledge of the mechanism, character and impact of the competition and predation in epiphytic lichen communities. Key words: lichens, cryptogams, epiphytes,...

Analysis of the condition of the K 220-44 steam turbine drainage pipeline and proposal of corrective measures

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the drainage pipeline of the Škoda K 220-44 steam turbine. This turbine is operated in Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant. One part of this work is proposal of corrective measures. The aims of this work include the creation of a search for drainage, steam, erosion corrosion and mapping of defects in long-term operated drainage system. Work also includes the evaluation of measured values of the pipe wall thickness measured by ultrasonic analyzer. In addition, the work contains images created from 3D model, on which the location of defects and measurements are displayed.
