Kovářová, Eva ; Šimek, Jiří (advisor) ; Klepal, Jaroslav (referee)
Couples of a physically disabled person and an able bodied one are being considered odd and exceptional by many people and furthermore associated with many prejudices and myths. The most common is probably the assumption of this relationship as an unequal and being rather a kind of carer and cared. The aim of this thesis has been to uncover the world of a couple of a person with acquired physical disability and his/her able bodied partner and to determine the impact of a physical disability and physical limitations stemming from the impairment on the inner life of the couple, a character of this relationship and the impact of the physical impairment on the social roles of the physically disabled person as a partner or potentially a parent. Acquired physical disability as a consequence of a spinal cord injury or a disease is a sudden and essential change in all three areas of a human being - physical, mental and social. In case of pre-injury/illness relationships I have been interested in the impact of this fundamental and unchangeable turnaround of existing conditions and life style on the couple. The theoretical phrame for this thesis has been phenomenological philosophy for its concern in the subjective experience regarded as a basis for further investigation and analysis and for its concept of...

U3V VŠE a počítačová gramotnost v systému celoživotního vzdělávání
Hnilička, Jakub ; Horný, Stanislav (advisor) ; Vilím, Tomáš (referee)
Computer literacy has recently emerged as a new topic, complementing traditional literacy. While this issue affects every one of us, it is particularly important for people of post-productive age, who have not been able to become acquainted with information technology during their professional life. The National Computer Literacy Program provided a great opportunity to eliminate this illiteracy; unfortunately it came to an end together with termination of the Ministry of Informatics of the Czech Republic. It is striking that the State has been preparing projects in the area of e-Government, electronic census and electronic elections without having any developmental strategy for users of these ambitious projects. An opportunity to improve personal skills after the end of a professional career is provided by the University of the Third Age at the University of Economics, where students learn to use not only computers, but also the multimedia in the Graphic and Multimedia Laboratory. Unfortunately, this university is not accessible to everyone. The limitations consist particularly in the precondition of completed secondary education, but also in the available capacity. Thus, an option that is really available to everyone lies in the commercial sector, which offers a wide range of courses. These courses are provided either by software companies or by the ECDL (European Computer Driving License).

Pension system reform in CR
Kučera, Mario ; Ježek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
The object of my diploma is focused in the pension system of The Czech Republic and the perspective of it in the future. At present there is still no problem in the financial balance of the pay-as-you-go pillar but due to the ageing of population the Czech dominant pillar will certain face to serious problems in case of no modifications. This conclusion arises from the first part of the analysis which also consists of the possible parameter modifications that could keep the system in balanced in long term. The next part is the analysis of the savings in the pension funds as the main alternative to the PAYGs. Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages which are main objects of both analyses in this diploma. Beside of the ability to keep the system stabled in financial terms I examine also the equivalence of contributions to the level of pensions that is important for the motivation of people to be responsible for their financial security in their old-age. The last part deals with the experiences of the pension systems in Chile, Slovak Republic and Sweden from where we could gain the real results of the reformed systems in different way in each country. From the results of these analyses I also give some possible recommendations for the elementary modifications in Czech system in the final part.

At present, depressive disorders affect a considerable proportion of population, their incidence showing an increasing tendency in the developed world. Depression mostly afflicts people in the age of 25-35. It occurs in females twice as often as in males. Depression involves an intense subjective suffering accompanied with a disruption of normal everyday functioning. Moreover, when compared with the healthy population, there exists a thirty times higher danger of suicide in the people affected with depression. The illness unfortunately tends to become chronic, the probability of recurrence of an episode being 50%. Furthermore, some patients suffering from the depressive disorder do not adequately respond to an antidepressant therapy; we call such patients treatment-resistant. There certainly exists a close relation between the endocrine and the central nervous system, most endocrine disorders being potentially accompanied with changes of psyche and vice versa. With affective disorders the most frequently reported disruption involves an interference with the function of the hypothalamicpituitary- adrenocortical (HPA) axis, though various studies repeatedly acknowledged also deviations of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis. The most frequent findings comprise an altered serum thyrotropin response...

Tůmová, Miluše ; Pargač, Jan (referee) ; Vrhel, František (referee)
The subject of my doktoral thesis is a study of a group of people, which has created an interesting phenomenon in modern and contemporary world, as well as in Czechoslovak and subsequently Czech history. The Religious Organisation of Jehova's Witnesses (later on ROJW) was founded in the USA at the end of 19th century and started its activities in the Czechoslovak Republic in 1907. Today is this religious group represented in 234 countries and is developing in a dynamic way thanks to its elaborated organisational structure. The aim of my work is not an apology nor accusation of the community of Jehova's Witnesses. From the perspective of a person with no affiliation to any religious doctrine, I am trying to obtain as objective view as possible of the origins, development, activities and specific characteristics of this organisation with special focus on the Czech Republic. Main body of my work is divided into two parts. The first part explains the origins and subsequent development of the ROJW. This part is divided into two chapters (chapter I concentrates on Jehova Witnesses' activities on international level and chapter II on its activities in the course of the Czech history) and is based on different information sources and literature. The second part focuses on main principles of religious doctrine and...

Pavelková, Monika ; Soukupová, Tereza (advisor) ; Hříbková, Lenka (referee)
The aim of the thesis is a close examination of spirituality and view of life among people who find themselves in the pre finem period. Spirituality is understood as a relation to sanctity of either religious or irreligious, intrinsic or extrinsic nature. Spirituality turns out to be of significance as a coping strategy, the means by which people come to terms with their illness and proximity to death. In this sense, we focus on the participants' search for the meaning of life, illness and death during the pre finem period. The basis of this thesis stems partly from the H. G. Koenig and K. L. Pargament's theory of religious coping. The belief in life after death, be it literal or symbolic, is understood as a coping strategy as well, with reference to Terror Management Theory or Meaning Management Theory. To evaluate the attitude towards illness and death we use the concept of five stages of grief developed by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross based on her clinical experience, and the theory of Wong, Reker and Gesser, the authors of Death Attitude Profile Revised questionnaire (DAP-R). Eleven patiens from Dobrý Pastýř in Čerčany and Svatý Štepán in Litoměřice hospices participated in the research in April - October 2012. The data of the study were collected using semi-structured interviews and a further...

It is described the history, characteristics of bioflavonoids, chemical composition and their sources in food, here. The next part is focused on effects of bioflavonoids against some civilization diseases such as cardiovascular disease or cancer, and emphasizes their importance in human nutrition. The discovery of bioflavonoids is dated to the first half of the 19th century when the tanstuffs were detached. Bioflavonoids rank among the group of substances called polyphenols and it´s known more than 20 000 of them. There are ubiqity substances in the vegetal kingdom furnishing the characteristic colouring or taste of fruit and vegetable. Flavonoids are not even in fruit and vegetable but also in pulses, hops, buckwheat, tea, grapevine, chocolate and further spices. The contain of polyphenols in the plant diet can be affected by the variety, conditions of growing, picking maturity, processing, stocking or culinary treatment. The optimal is the flameproof finish in steam when the polyphenols fade away at least. The main place of polyphenol resorption in the human digestive system is the small intestine and colon. Bioflavonoids are thought of the protectors of the vitamin C and these two substances assist to each other in their effects. Bioflavonoids as so-called fytochemical substances make possible to plants to resist a infections and other demage resultings commited by microorganisms, insects or other enemy. The most considerable flavonoids, the part of this bachelory was devoted, fall into quercetin which is often situated in apples, onion, rutin in buckwheat, resveratrol in red wine and catechin in tea. The purpose of this working was to draw up the problems of bioflavonoids and find out which status these substances have, in a human nutrition. The positive effects to a human health agree from their antioxidative treatment at all. At the end of the bachelory there are mentioned other positive effects of these substances in assorted illnesses prevention. These effects are due to their ability to inactivate free radicals and reduce risik hydroperoxides. Bioflavonoids assert theirself for example in a varicose veins treatment, piles, paradentos, variety tumours and inflammation. Many people use up ironically rather vitamins as food supplements in place of fresh fruit and vegetable. Because of it that´s necessary to learn that bioflavonoids in fruit, vegetable and other sources are irreplaceable for our health and many times more wholesome than the syntetic preparations.
