Domestic violence in criminal law The purpose of this thesis is to provide the audience with broad and complex overview of legal regulations of the "domestic violence" phenomenon in the Czech legal system with a special focus on the criminal law and the adoption of the new Criminal code and several amendments which have significantly improved the overall situation in this area. In general, domestic violence occurs when a family member, partner or ex- partner attempts to physically or psychologically dominate another. Although domestic violence often refers to violence between spouses it can also include cohabitants, children and non-married intimate partners sharing the same flat or house. It is important to remember that domestic violence occurs in all cultures and that people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexes and classes can be perpetrators of domestic violence. Since domestic violence represents a very complex problem with many dimensions I have split this paper into total of ten chapters (including introduction and conclusion) which I believe cover the most important aspects of this phenomenon. Francová, Jana ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Růžička, Květoslav (referee)
127 Summary The competition policy can be regarded as one of the important areas of the international trade enhancing effectivity of the elimination of trade barries. In the absence of binding rules on competition at the global stage, the prevention of anti- competitive behavior plays a key role within the regional trading blocks. The thesis deals with one of the pillars of the competition law - rules on the abuse of dominant position - in the most integrated of those regional trading blocks -in the European Communities. The EC Treaty contains provision on the abuse of dominant position in Article 82 that prohibits undertakings from committing an abuse of dominant position held within a substantial part of the common market where that abuse has an effect on trade between Member States. It does not prevent undertakings from being in a dominant position but from engaging in the the anticompetitive behavior which weakens the already weak competitive structure of the market. The thesis occupies itself with the main features of legal regulation of the abuse of dominant position in the EC law as set in Article 82 with special respect to the decisions of relevant competitive authorities. It is divided into three parts - introduction, regulation of abuse and conclusion. The introduction explains the role of...

Polley, Ivana ; Hlavačka, Milan (advisor) ; Kudrna, Ladislav (referee) ; Konečný, Karel (referee)
The subject-matter of this dissertation paper is the description and analysis of the topic of the post-war fate of certain Czechoslovak pilots in Great Britain in the post-war years. In the introduction to this paper, I outline the atmosphere at the time and the process of integration of western pilots in Czechoslovakia after liberation. The paper at the same time addresses the efforts of the British wives of these pilots to assimilate into Czechoslovak society. The changes in the political circumstances, especially, compelled the RAF pilots to start considering leaving Czechoslovakia again. After February 1948, the persecution of the RAF officers was already evident. Political purges in the armed forces compelled them to leave Czechoslovakia again. The paper typologises the exodus of the RAF pilots abroad into subgroups and for each of these subgroups, it demonstrates the various and clearly very similar fates of the pilots, which are linked by departure to Great Britain, where they served in the RAF during the war. The typology of the exodus differentiates those pilots who remained in Great Britain and did not return to Czechoslovakia after the war and those that left legally and those that left the country illegally and emigrated. To clarify the problems of hijack of aircraft, the form of back...
