Household waste transport
Gal, Pavel ; Frýba, Lukáš (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with issue of collection of mixed municipal waste to waste-to-energy. The main part is aimed to transportation of waste using rail freight or road freight transport. It shows the advantages of rail transport and compares transport in term of emissions and economy. The final chapter deals with preparation data for optimization problem and visualization of them using software ArcGIS.
Mathematical model for Transportation Problem in Waste Management
Procházka, Vít ; Touš, Michal (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of the mathematical model of transportation problem in waste management, which is used for analysis of current issue of mixed municipal waste treatment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of thesis aims to introduce basic terms of graph theory and optimization with the focus on linear programming. The second part aims to development of the model and its implementation to GAMS. And next, the post-processing of results is shown, vizualization in ArcGIS included.
Stanovení podílu nebezpečných látek ve směsném komunálním odpadu z města nad 10000 obyvatel
Mládek, František
The aim of this thesis is to determine the proportion of hazardous substances in mixed municipal waste from the city of over 10,000 inhabitants. The proportion of hazardous substances in mixed municipal waste was determined from ten samples of mixed municipal waste from the city Kroměříž. Each sample had a minimum weight of 500 kg. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part was defines basic concepts and information regarding municipal waste. There are also elaborated information on hazardous impurities municipal waste. In the second part was to evaluate the quantity of hazardous and potentially hazardous impurities in mixed municipal waste. There are also designed the possibility to reduce of said admixture. The results of this work show the amount of hazardous and potentially hazardous additives in mixed municipal waste per capita per year in the city Kroměříž.
Stanovení podílu nebezpečných látek ve směsném komunálním odpadu z krajského města
Bartůňková, Zuzana
The purpose of this thesis is to determine the proportion of hazardous substances in mixed municipal waste from the regional city of Brno. There are the basic concepts and information regarding municipal and hazardous waste defined in the literature review. The results of measurement are evaluated in Ma-terial and Methods section. The amount of hazardous and potentially hazardous additives in mixed municipal waste is also evaluated. Subsequently are proposed options for diversion of dangerous additives from mixed municipal waste. The results of this study indicate the amount of hazardous and potentially hazardous additives in mixed municipal waste per resident per year in Brno.
Možnosti kompostování biologicky rozložitelných komunálních odpadů v Adamově
Jordánková, Kateřina
This diploma thesis comes out of legislative requirements for a decrease in the quantity of biologically decomposable communal waste put in disposal sites and the support of composting. The thesis is focused primarily on making a draft of gathering and collecting biologically decomposable waste, its processing by composting and a draft project on a composting plant in the conditions of Adamov city. The plan of the whole system was set on the basis of the specification of the source of biologically decomposable communal waste and its weight flow depending on the type of a built-up area, evaluation of contemporary used technologies of composting with regard to the quantity of processed waste.
Effectiveness of textile waste management
Dolejší, Gabriela ; Slavík, Jan (advisor) ; Kotoulová, Zdeňka (referee)
The purpose of this master thesis is to address two main ways of dealing with used textile material in Czech Republic. It compares textile material as a component of a household waste with textile material as a component of a segregated waste. The main question that the thesis and the research done within it addresses is whether the costs, associated with textile waste management coming as the result of administrative tools and legislative action plans mounted to it, are not too high. Based on a calculated model of cost structure of both above mentioned variants their comparison could be performed. Analysis of its results pointed out, that under certain given conditions and assumptions the system of segregated waste collection is, despite its higher costs, effective. The outcome of this master thesis is proposed possible scenarios used to optimize textile waste management in the context of economic science methodology, available data and primary research questions.
Analysis of biodegradable communal waste disposal system in the city of Zlín
Přikrylová, Jana ; Dvořák, Antonín (advisor) ; Hadrabová, Alena (referee)
This thesis discusses the disposal of the biodegradable communal waste (hereinafter BRKO) in the city of Zlín. In the beginning it introduces the general terms and keywords and legal regulations concerning waste disposal. It mentions environmental effects of the BRKO dump, and also ways of collecting and further treatment of BRKO. The main part of the thesis describes the current BRKO management system in the city of Zlín and based on the projects that have been completed up until now it analyses management efficiency. The thesis shows an expected progression in the total amount of BRKO in the following years due to the new limits placed on BRKO dump by the Plan of Waste Management Program. Based on the collected data, this thesis proposes an optimal solution for waste collection and waste treatment in the city of Zlín and evaluates the environmental and economic benefits of the suggested waste management system.

Hamšíková, Renata ; Remtová, Květa (advisor) ; Hadrabová, Alena (referee)
Diploma graduation thesis deals with analytical tool called Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Paper explains this analytic tool and focuses on its possible application in municipal decision-making process. Thesis carries out specific application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) targeted towards disposal of mixed municipal waste collected from Frýdek-Místek city. Municipal waste management issues are mentioned in relation with Frýdek-Místek and year 2007. The aim is to analyze nowadays landfilling of mixed municipal waste done in Frýdek-Místek and to examine the possibility of incineration of mixed municipal waste in order to reach minimal total environmental impacts.
