Lossless Image Compression
Komjáthy, Gergely ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with lossless image compression. In this paper are shown some colour models, which can be used for lossless image compression and formulas how to convert them to RGB and vica versa. You can learn predictors, how they work and discription of some of them. There is described the function of arithmetic coder, PPM coder and a brief description of Huffman coding.
Implementation of Statistical Compression Methods
Štys, Jiří ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis describes Burrow-Wheeler compression algorithm. It focuses on each part of Burrow-Wheeler algorithm, most of all on and entropic coders. In section are described methods like move to front, inverse frequences, interval coding, etc. Among the described entropy coders are Huffman, arithmetic and Rice-Golomg coders. In conclusion there is testing of described methods of global structure transformation and entropic coders. Best combinations are compared with the most common compress algorithm.
Medical Image Data Compression
Šebek, Jiří ; Bařina, David (referee) ; Kršek, Přemysl (advisor)
This thesis deals with several lossless methods of image compression. The main goal is to achieve the best compression ratio for set of medical images. This paper provides brief introduction into the data compression theory. It also contains design of image compression and description of designed compression modules implementation. Also the verifi cation of suitability of designed method for medical images compression is involved.
Compression Methods Based on Context Modelling
Gach, Tomáš ; Drábek, Vladimír (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe basic properties of the context-based compression methods. Modelling procedure is presented together with the principle of an arithmetic coding. Gradually the PPM, CTW, and PAQ methods are introduced together with the possible implementation of the basic PPM probability model. The performance of context-based, dictionary and the most currently used methods of data compression is being compared. Based on obtained results, the possible usage of PPM methods is summarized.
Interactive web applications supporting education
Tvorogov, Ivan ; Mangová, Marie (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The project mainly aims to the development of applications for viewing lossless data compression algorithms. A theoretical part is devoted to description of theory from the area of lossless data compression algorithms and basic description of the language of HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS that will be used during the development. A practical part is focused on proposal and implementation of particular applications.
Medical Image Data Compression
Balarin, Jakub ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Kršek, Přemysl (advisor)
The efficiency of various compress algorithms on medical images is explored in this paper. It try's to find algorithm or group of algorithms with the best compress efficiency. Except classic algorithms the medicine data properties (it contains many similar image points) can be used to reach higher compress level. We verify delta coding efficienty to final compress ratio. At the end the best founded method is presented.
Compression Methods Based on Context Modelling
Krupička, Matúš ; Drábek, Vladimír (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to analysis of context-based compression methods, their characteristics and possibilities of their usage. Thesis focuses on and hands out detail overview of statistical method PPM (prediction by partial matching). Program design of this method is described as well as the implementation. Lastly, also the outcomes of this program are compared with already existing implementations of data compression.
Educational Application of Compression Algorithms
Kaše, David ; Tříska, Vít (referee) ; Košař, Vlastimil (advisor)
This bachelor thesis studies the basic principles and methods of compression algorithms. After identification of these basic methods, a few algorithms are selected to represent these methods. For the selected algorithms is designed an aplication, which is then implemented for education with emphasis on visualization of algorithms steps. Application development takes into account the addition of additional algorithms.
Implementation of Statistical Compression Methods
Beněk, Tomáš ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with the statistical compression methods. This work describes basic theoretical introduction to the data compression and the most important representatives of statistical methods. There is also described compression process based on the Burrows-Wheeler algorithm, which is implemented in the form of portable library in C++ programming language. This work compares effectiveness of each method on suitable data corpus, which contains various data types and according to achieved results discusses suitability of usage of methods and possible improvements.
Implementation of Statistical Compression Method
Šreibr, Jakub ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
In this thesis statistical methods for data compression are presented. It deals with projecting of compression process and with it's implementation in a form of program library, which is created in language C++. Description and analysis of compression methods are discussed. The results of tests, which were performed with different compression methods are demonstrated.
