Interesting cases of fluid mechanics
Čáp, Filip ; Hájek, Ondřej (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the description of some interesting phenomena in the field of fluid mechanics, methods of flow visualization and its recording using a high-speed camera. First, a number of terms and different types of fluid flow are briefly introduced, which is followed by the description of the methods of visualization that enhance the visibility of flow of liquids and gases. The thesis also describes high-speed cameras and examines some interesting effects in fluid dynamics which can be encountered in everyday life as well as in engineering practice. The last chapter is then dedicated to the conducted experiments and their recordings.
Measurement and evaluation of high-speed process
Šťastný, Michal ; Zahálka, Jiří (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis follows up the issue of high-speed camera systems. First part of this thesis outline some historical milestones of high-speed shooting and describe the basic principle of image processing with a digital camera. Next part of this thesis is focused on comparison of high-speed camera systems of the most known producers. Finally there is the measurement by high speed camera Olympus i-SPEED 2 and it’s evaluation at the end of thesis.
Development of DC arc quenching chamber
Černohorský, Petr ; Valenta, Jiří (referee) ; Šimek, David (advisor)
Seminar thesis focuses on the issues about quenching the electric direct arc by the quanching system. Teoretical part deals with action about quanching the direct arc and with another actions which happens in direc discharge. There is described proposal and construction of the insulating quenching system. Than chamber was testing in high voltage laboratory and the results from testing was evaluated.
Application of HS camera to problems of fluid mechanics
Bolcek, Adam ; Elcner, Jakub (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
The main subject of this bachelor thesis is visualization of liquids and gases and their recor-ding with the help of a high-speed camera. The first part deals with types of the high-speed cameras. Also, it is concerned with the description of the Olympus i-SPEED 2 camera which was used for the experiment. Finally, the thesis investigates fundamental parameters of the high-speed cameras and their influence on the recording. The second part describes different methods of visualisation of liquids and gases and also consequent advantages and disadvantages of using each particular method. The last part is dedicated to the creation of my own recording of the visualisation of flowing of gas and its analysis and also to the finding of an optimal setting of the camera and of the lighting of the scene of the recording.
Analysis of chip forming mechanism with a high-speed digital camera
Kopřiva, Antonín ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Polzer, Aleš (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to present the main theory concerning high-speed cameras, their usefullness in industry and to present the cameras available at the market. A few experiments have been done focused on the right choice of an objective, lighting of the scene or setting of the cameras. A special equipment has been invented for a better process of measuring followed by experiment aimed at boring a cutter in materials chosen beforehand. The speed and the acceleration of the cutter was ana-lyzed by means of MotionMeasure software in another experiment.
Analysis of human tremor by using hight speed camera
Kuder, Zenon ; Čmiel, Vratislav (referee) ; Rychtárik, Milan (advisor)
This thesis investigates the possibility of using the Olympus iSpeed 3 high-speed camera and light-emitting diodes in visible light spectrum to analyse human tremor of upper limbs. Moreover, it discusses possible realization of a measurement apparatus including software implemented in the Matlab environment. The system is then tested on a small sample of healthy subjects.
Usage of high-speed camera in the area of switching arc
Samohejl, Matěj ; Bušov, Bohuslav (referee) ; Valenta, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is focused on optimizing recording of electrical switching arc in magnetic switches by high-speed camera. Measurements were performed on the circuit breaker 10B without removed side case, which was subsequently cowled by neutral density filter. The voltage and current of the circuit breaker contacts were acquired by measuring system of the Laboratory of switching arc diagnostics. The energy source was motor-generator with a nominal power 16 MVA and test bench consisting of a capacitors and inductors, which have been tuned to the resonance frequency of 50 Hz. Evaluation of the measurements was taken with regard to the brightness distribution levels of the record. Results showed that the mean brightness value varies on the square of the current passing through. For proper localization of the arc, it is necessary to appropriately set the camera exposure. The main problem usually is to darken the scene enough. It was found that it is necessary to take into account that brightness level change depends nonlinear on the exposure offset. The thesis gives a proposal to determine the exposure shift of the record. The possibility of usage high-speed camera to determine the temperature distribution in the arc using the brightness equiintensities was also designed. There are mentioned suggestions how to improve recording of the arc in circuit breakers, especially in the arrangement of the optical parts.
Usage of a high-speed camera for a study of changes of a lubricating film.
Mucha, Roman ; Křupka, Ivan (referee) ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor)
The aim of Bachelor´s thesis is to give an overview of the state of knowledge in the field of usage of a high-speed camera for a study of changes of a lubricating film. The first part desribes the basic terms in the field of high-speed camera. The next part of thesis deals with the history of high-speed cameras and their use in an industry, including study of changes of a lubricating film. Finally, evaluation of current status and further development are included.
Possible Applications of High-Speed Camera Systems in Industry
Hudeček, Jan ; Kotek, Luboš (referee) ; Doňarová, Jana (advisor)

Switching arc plasma diagnostics by usage of two high-speed cameras
Buchta, Martin ; Dostál, Lukáš (referee) ; Valenta, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with an electrical arc formation and its properties. The thesis also describes some of the electrical devices and principles, which are used for arc extinction. It is mainly focused on design, construction and testing of model of the LV quenching system, which allows high speed cameras to record arc movement. Recorded images are then used to create three-dimensional reconstruction of the electric arc with help of created program 3DMaker. The final reconstruction is the output of this work.
