Total two-year evaluation (2009 - 2010)of pilot project examination of thyroid gland function in group of pregnant women
Řehoř, Jiří ; Springer, Drahomíra (advisor) ; Límanová, Zdeňka (referee)
In the years 2009 and 2010 the pilot project investigating the function of the thyroid gland took place in 13 cities of the Czech Republic. In the context of the screening of congenital developmental defects the levels of TSH, FT4 and anti-TPO in serum were by women in the first trimester of pregnancy investigated, after signing informed consent. For the determination of analytes there were different analyzers used, which laboratories possess and are able to carry out the necessary examinations. Most of analyzers the reference intervals for TSH, FT4 and anti-TPO has set up from the manufacturer. These reference intervals are suitable for the normal population, neither less for pregnant women. Data from this project was evaluated using the newly calculated reference intervals for pregnant women, which are for the group of investigated women much more appropriate. From the total file of 3,484 pregnant women, it was thanks to these new reference intervals captured about 100 pregnant women with increased levels of TSH more, than in the use of reference intervals of producers. The comparison of reference intervals from the manufacturer with the newly calculated reference intervals for pregnant women managed to surface FT4 to find out about 126 more women below the surface of the new reference interval, than...

Technical analysis of financial time series
Faltýnková, Anežka ; Petrásek, Jakub (advisor) ; Hurt, Jan (referee)
The thesis studies the problem of inefficiencies in the finan- cial markets. The first section describes the fundamental concepts, such as the efficient market hypothesis and futures contracts. The necessary mathematics is summarized in the second part, which deals with the link between the futures price and the martingale. The nonlinear regression is introduced and the greatest emphasis is placed on the description of the functional linear model with a scalar response. The main part focuses on the application of this theory. Two models are proposed for predicting prices based on their historical changes. The first model is nonlinear and is based on the assumption that the impact of the price change on the prediction process diminishes exponentially with time. The second one is linear and directly estimates the effect of particular changes. Both models are compared in terms of their ability to predict inefficiencies, calculation costs and stability. 1

The void in the Epicureism
Tříletý, Petr ; Thein, Karel (advisor) ; Jirsa, Jakub (referee)
The essay deals with the role of void in the Epicurean physics and asks two fundamental questions: What was void for Epicurus and why had he thought it must exist. As a reply to the first question two conceptions are possible - that the void means emptiness betweeen atoms and that it means the space in general. Arguments are given for the claim that Epicurus operated both these concepts. The first one, an empty interval, is necessary for the possibility of motion in atomism and a wider notion of the space, among other reasons, seems to be too important for speaking about the first one. The second question focuses on reasons for existence of the void. Atomists were convinced that it is necessary condition of possibility of locomotion. But why? There clearly is another possible explanation - motion could be enabled by fluid, matter the speciality of which is ability to change shape. However, examination of fluidity shows that it is provided by infinite divisibility of matter. The atomists' rejection of infinite divisibility then can be understood as their reason for rejecting possibility of fluid matter and thus for needing the void to explain motion.

Ujhelyiová, Alena ; Vlček, Petr (advisor) ; Táborská, Kateřina (referee)
The topic of this paper is the examination of the thyroid gland by utilizing the methods of nuclear medicine. Its primary focus is on activities of the radiologist assistant in the course of such examination. In the introductory chapter, the paper explains the scope of nuclear medicine. The second chapter addresses the fundamental anatomy of the thyroid gland. Specifically, it describes the common form, placement, size and mass of the thyroid gland, its elemental parts, structure, function and basic physiological processes. The chapter on clinical picture describes the most common diseases linked to the thyroid gland. The frequency, incidence and causes of such diseases are addressed. The fourth chapter addresses the application of nuclear medicine methods in thyroidology. It describes how the application of nuclear medicine has evolved in time and how nuclear medicine and its methods are applied at present. The opening section of the fifth chapter describes the requirements of the basic legislative document governing peaceful applications of the nuclear energy, the socalled Atomic Law. Further, scintillation camera and its parts are described in this chapter as the most common visualization apparatus. The chapter on examination addresses the basic classification of examination procedures. The thyroid gland...

Framework Spring
Bobkov, Pavel ; Mészáros, Jan (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to introduce reader to the Spring framework and describe it as a convenient tool for rapid application development and launching projects. It is necessary to grab the Spring issue in a broader context. That's why thesis is trying to note all the relevant technologies that are closely related to Spring, or which is Spring based on. The first step to understanding Spring is a basic knowledge of Java EE. Thesis presents the architecture of Java EE while arguing its flaws, which caused the emergence of today's very powerful word framework. Next part of the thesis brings reader through characteristic of frameworks for developing Web applications in Java (the largest group of frameworks), and make him familiar with MVC design pattern that forms the architecture of most web frameworks. Thesis leads to the description of the Spring framework accompanied by numerous examples of code that prove the theoretical knowledge of the reader. At the end of the theoretical part the Spring Web MVC framework is presented. The framework combines the key principles of Spring and MVC architecture. The practical part of the thesis makes a complete development cycle of real project. Development is carried out using the Waterfall model methodology. Project implementation is based on the knowledge of Spring / Spring MVC gained in the theoretical part.

Foundation and Origin of a Limited Partnership
Novotná, Eliška ; Kalinová, Miluše (advisor) ; Žák, Květoslav (referee)
It is very popular to enter a market as an entrepreneur in the Czech Republic today. A person should be knowledgeable about the Czech law and decide whether s/he intends to carry business either as a sole proprietor or as a corporation. This bachelor's work provides the information and advice how to start, when a business organization, concretely a limited partnership/Ltd., is going to be founded. There are going to be explained concrete steps that lead to a foundation and origin of a limited partnership in this work. Founders of a business organization need to form the Articles of Partnership at the beginning. They should also find suitable premises for their future corporation. The next step that is important to do is to get an entrepreneurial licence for that activity that the corporation will carry on. One of the most important steps to establish a company is to file a proposal for the incorporation of the business into the Register of Companies. When the business is registered in the Register of Companies, then it can perform its entrepreneurial activity according to the incorporation act. In case of a limited partnership/Ltd. the co-partner who is bound to a deposit duty should pay up his deposit as soon as possible after the business is incorporated. After reading the above instructions the reader may think that the establishment and origin of a company is quite easy. I hope s/he will recognize that it is necessary to be well informed about legal procedures for establishment of a business at the end of this bachelor's work. The mere existence of a company itself is not sufficient. The business must find its customers and reach its target. For that reason it is essential to create an entrepreneurial plan and a marketing strategy for a concrete company. Thus, an entrepreneur should combine the knowledge of law and economics if s/he wants to be successful in the market.
