Process of migration has been recently an essential part of population changes. There are certain areas where the migration has significant impact on population size. Moving within the frontiers (internal migration) makes major part of migration turnover in Czech Republic while moving between countries (external migration) has lesser effect. The aim of this thesis is an analysis of internal migration of population of Czech Republic between years 2001 and 2009. The thesis focuses on the general development of migration process in the state territory during this time and also explores migration flows between regions and districts, especially in the relation to the capital city. A history of censuses since ancient times till 2011 follows and represents a bigger part of the work. A migration related to population censuses is described in the last part. The work is supplemented by graphs comparing data from individual censuses. An appendix contains part of the Conference of European statisticians' recommendationsfor the 2010 censuses of population and housing.

Cafourková, Magdalena ; Langhamrová, Jitka (advisor) ; Květoň, Viktor (referee)
The thesis is focused on the development of demographic ageing in the countries that are the members of the European Union in 2011. The general overview of historical evolution is followed by the analysis of ageing in the European Union member countries in the last decade. The countries are compared on the basis of the most significant indicators of demographic ageing. The indicators are pursued for the longest possible period as for the European Union as the whole. Comparison is presented mainly in graphic form. All discovered knowledge is clearly resumed describing the development of ageing in the European Union and its member countries in the conclusion.
EVALUATION AND CLASSIFICATION OF THE EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES
Brabcová, Petra ; Löster, Tomáš (advisor) ; Vltavská, Kristýna (referee)
This diploma work describes the classification of the member states of the European Union according to the demographic indicators. It evaluates development in the individual states by absolute demographic indicators too. In the year 2008 less children were born and less people were died in the most of the member states than the year 1993. The hope of the end of life grows up in all contries. Relative demographic indicators are used in the cluster analysis for diversification of rhe states into certain groups in accordance with their similarity. Two methods are used in this work --of the farthest neighbour and the Ward method (the hierarchical clustering method), the both with the Euclid distance. The hierarchical method of the farthest neighbour divided fifteen states into the four clusters in 1995, twenty-five states into the six clusters in 2004 and twenty-seven states into the six clusters in 2007. The Ward method divided these states into the three clusters in 1995, into the six clusters in 2004 and into the three clusters in 2007.

Kroftová, Tereza ; Macháček, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kadeřábková, Jaroslava (referee)
The goal of this diploma thesis is to describe the tendency of European Union migration. First of all, I define the basic concepts relating to migration and the legislation. I focus on economic, political, social and demographic consequences of the spatial distribution of population. In these consequences, I concern with the impacts on economic variables in different countries of European Union. I will try to explain the impact of migration, advantages or disadvantages and possible solution of this issue. Finally, I refer to the issue of migration in terms of political and economic interest of migrants, such as economic instability and change of living standards, rapid demographic growth, war, religious and ethnic conflicts and environmental degradation.
Usage system GIS for interpretation and suggestion stoppings and net public transport in České Budějovice
KUČERA, Jiří
My assignment is to work out an appraisal if the bus stops of public transport in České Budějovice are convenient and to suggest new bus stops according to requirements of the effective use of public transport. It is appropriate to use the GIS system in this case. Provided that our base papers are right, we can solve a lot of problems concerning this given subject. To deal with this problem I have chosen the demography of the town České Budějovice as the main criterion (see annexe 1). There is the aspect of inhabitants' age and number in each locality and also in vicinity of each bus stop. In the result of this work-out I have found out that some of them are not convenient and I suggest another. The method of leading these conclusions is described in detail in this bachelor thesis. At the end of the whole research I am reaching a decision that the current situation is inadequate and it has to be supplemented with additional bus stops. The way of replenishment is described in this bachelor thesis.

The population of Vysočina region - the regional and geographical analysis
ZMEŠKALOVÁ, Martina
The purpose of my thesis was to elaborate the regional and geographical analysis of the population of Vysočina region. At the beginning of the thesis the long-term development of the population in the area of the Czech republic and Vysočina region nowadays is outlined. Then new trends in the development of the population in the period of transformation are characterized. In the following part the regional differences in the movement of the population of Vysočina region since 1991 are put down. The development of the natural movement of the population, numbers of abortions, marriages and divorces, migration, development and the overall movement of inhabitants are monitored. At the end the changes of selected structures of the population of Vysočina region between SLDB 1991 and 2001 are taken down. The biological structures (inhabitants according to sex and age), economic activities and chosen cultural signs (inhabitants in accordance with education, religion and nationality) are compared. The territory of the religion is judged as a whole with respect to the development of the whole republic, and then the particular districts and the districts of administrations of the municipality with extended competence are compared.
Addressing the Problem of the Accessibility and Financing of Institutional Social Care in Connection with the Anticipated Growth in the Post-Productive Population in the Czech Republic
NOVÁKOVÁ, Eva
According to projections from the Czech Statistical Office there will be a significant change in the structure of the population in the Czech Republic in coming years. It is estimated that the share of individuals over 65 years of age will increase by more than 50% by 2025 and by an additional 30% between 2025 and 2050. The aging of the population will be accompanied by a significant increase in the need for social services, especially for individuals over the age of 80, as these make up the majority of clients of in-house social care services. While the Czech Republic is one of the countries with the highest number of residential social care facilities, with respect to demographic development the number of these facilities is insufficient. The de-institutionalization of social care services is an emerging trend that involves efforts to provide maximum social care in the natural home environment of clients; the services provided are focussed on maintaining the standard way of life for clients through the provision of field and outpatient social care. The selected topic captured my interest for two reasons: its topicality and the lack of awareness among the general population, and the need for the expansion of social services due to the growing number of elderly. The aim of the work, with regard to anticipated demographic development, is to draw attention to the issue of accessibility and financing care for seniors who have lost self-sufficiency. I chose quantitative research utilizing the survey method and data analysis for the practical part of the work. The study group is composed of 310 respondents from the areas of Prague, České Budejovice and Trutnov. The data for analysis was taken from Czech Statistic Office data from 2007 for the Prague, South Bohemian and Hradec Králové regions. While the research did not support all of the established hypotheses, the designated goals of the work were fulfilled. This work can be used in professional literature and lectures, and could become the subject of a grant program that would serve to raise awareness among the general population and help spread this research to additional regions.
