Copper and its pato/physiological importance in human organism
Bechná, Klára ; Mladěnka, Přemysl (advisor) ; Hrdina, Radomír (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology Student: Klára Bechná Supervisor: Přemysl Mladěnka, PharmD., Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Copper and its pato/physiological importance in human organism Copper is an indispensable trace element of our organism. This thesis summarizes the current knowledge about copper, its role in the human body and diseases connected with copper dysbalance. The first part of the thesis deals with the physiological aspects. Functions of copper in the body are described here in detail, in particular the structure and properties of copper- containing enzymes - so-called cuproenzymes. The next section summarizes the current knowledge of the kinetics of copper in the body at the cellular and whole-body levels, including interactions with other trace elements. Details are also presented for each of the factors involved in the homeostasis of copper in the human organism. The second part of the thesis deals with patophysiology of copper. It is focused on the most important diseases that are directly linked to disorders of copper homeostasis in the organism. The greatest emphasis is given mainly on two of them - Wilson's disease and Menkes disease. The former is associated with an excess of copper in the body while...
Determination of specific oxygen uptake during climbing test until exhaustion in female sport climbers
Kalábová, Monika ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Panáčková, Michaela (referee)
Title of bachelor thesis Determination of climbing specific oxygen uptake during climbing test to vita maxima of sports climbers. Aims To assess the determination of climbing specific oxygen uptake during climbing test to vita maxima of sports climbers. Methods The study involved 14 women climbers. Their climbing ability moved about since 3th to 10th degree of UIAA. Maximal oxygen uptake was measured on climbing wall, where climbers climbed the vertival wall profile (90ř) at their own pace for 3 minutes. Specific test started on 105ř profile with increased climbing speed until individual exhaustion every 3 minutes. After that, the participant went a maximal running test on treadmill. Results Climbers achieved average of specific oxygen uptake was 38,8 ± 6,6 ml·kg-1 ·min-1 in maximal climbing test in gradient 105ř and 51,5 ± 2,1 ml·kg-1 ·min-1 in maximal running test on treadmill. The climbing performance most corelated with achievement of speed r = 0,91 and oxygen uptake r = 0,75. Result values present that minimal level of specific VO2 max 45 - 50 ml·kg-1 ·min-1 is very important for climbing difficult ways. Conclusion Climbing test is suitable for controlled training status of sport climbers. Key words Sport climbing, physiology, climbing test, oxygen uptake
Physical demands of selected professions, creating a compensative program for sedentary profession.
FRÖSTLOVÁ, Daniela
The main theme of my work is finding the locomotive load in selected professions and build a compensation program for professionals with a sedentary job. When selecting this topic for me was the decisive topicality of the selected topic, I see especially in the ever-growing problems with musculoskeletal system of persons employed in sedentary occupations, which are one of the consequences of their employment. The first theoretical part of the thesis includes a detailed analysis of the issues examined based on theories that describe the anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system. I characterize also the sedentary lifestyle and sedentary employment in general and describe workplace ergonomics professionals selected for the needs of my thesis. In theory there need explaining motion compensation modes based on medical aspects of the workforce in selected professions sedentary jobs. The practical part of the thesis was to determine the quantitative research on a sample of probands peace musculoskeletal load in connection with the exercise of their profession. Results of the research were my starting point to build a compensation programs that would positively affect the quality of life of current probands. To meet the targets I have been primarily assisting methods of quantitative research using questionnaires. The reason for choosing this method is smooth and straightforward data collection enabling the rapid analysis and processing. The research group of people that was chosen includes professions that are characterized by their sedentary job: professional driver, an office worker and painter Christmas decorations. I observed the objectivity of the research questions musculoskeletal load in selected professions, I firmly establish the criteria on the basis of purposive sampling was assembled group of three professionals with a sedentary job. During the research, I pay attention to individual cases, carried out their detailed descriptions and subsequently proposed compensatory exercises by the parties for some time applied. After this time was collected by new data and a qualitative comparison with the data starting. I am convinced that the results of my research work can help all persons working in occupations with a sedentary job, provided the inclusion of adequate compensatory exercises in his career, but also leisure life.
Josef Velenovský and František Mareš ? two personalities of the Czech scientific life (their biological and philosophical activities)
PODSKALSKÁ, Marie
The diploma thesis Josef Velenovský and František Mareš ? two personalities of the Czech scientific life (their biological and philosophical activities) deals with the philosophical theses of two notable Czech biologists ? philosophers ? in their biological research. The first part introduces the biological and philosophical activities of both personalities. It depicts in detail Mares' views of physiology and Velenovsky's take on natural philosophy. It further contains their critical views of contemporary trends in natural sciences and philosophy, especially the positivism and naturalism. The second part contains a comparative analysis of the fundamental ideas of both scientists, included in The natural philosophy (Volume I, Natural) and Physiology. The text attempts to analyze their theses (positivism, naturalism, vitalism, physiology, natural science) and to find similarities and differences in their points of view.
Biology of the Root-Parasitic Rhinanthoid Orobanchaceae
TĚŠITEL, Jakub
Evolution, physiology and ecology of root-parasitic Rhinanthoid Orobanchaceae was investigated with special emphasis on understanding biology of hemiparasitism. The research was based on a wide range of methods including molecular hylogenetics, cultivation experiments, stable isotope analysis, electron icroscopy, geometric morphometrics and flow-cytometry.
Psychology and symbolism of colours
ZVĚŘINOVÁ, Iva
The Bachelor study entitled ?Psychology and symbolism of colours? addresses the symbolic significance of colours in life, in terms of development and particularly cultural differences. The theoretical part of the study provides evidence of the importance of colours in terms of the historical development of traditional cultures and their views on perception; individual chapters are devoted to the physiological and psychological effects of colours on the human organism. The final theoretical part of the study includes methods of using these findings, as currently used in psychology and diagnostics. The practical part analyses the importance of the application of colours in the interiors and gives examples of how to work with colours in the interiors of schools, means of transport, art and advertising.
