Optical detection of electrograms
Hanák, Pavel ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
The aim of the study was focused on problem of electrograms recording with using voltage sensitive dyes. Study of electrograms recording was extended with thema of optical detectors suitable for measurement and noise analysis. Elimination of noise and disturption was made in program Matlab; lowpass filtration and wavelet transformation was used. Application for electrograms analysis was developed in latter part of this work.
Fuzzy Neural Networks for Pattern Classification
Ollé, Tamás ; Raida, Zbyněk (referee) ; Vágnerová, Jitka (advisor)
Práce popisuje základy principu funkčnosti neuronů a vytvoření umělých neuronových sítí.
Measurement of Isolated Cardiac Muscle Cell Lenght in real time
Klabal, Petr ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the basic description of cardiac muscle cells, the mechanism of its contraction and events associated with contractions. There are different types of methods which can be used for measuring of contractions and for evaluation of cell length. This work describe these methods and evaluate their pros and cons. Based on available information and technical possibilities is one of the methods chosen and used for the design of block diagram system for measuring of contraction of isolated heart cells in real time. The practical part of this diploma thesis deals with the designing of a system which allows processing the image of isolated cardiac muscle cells that facilitate the detection of the cells edge. For this purpose it was created a device that allows the user to select a single row from television signal containing the image information from a location where is the currently selected row. Thus obtained image information can be used for cells edge detection and measuring of its length and contractions.
Optical Method to Evaluate the Contractile Function of Isolated Cardiac Myocytes
Kopečný, Josef ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
In this master´s thesis we will firstly focused on the description of a cyte in terms of structure as well as in terms of electrical and chemical processes. We will examine a processes, which make a contraction and the processes on cyte membrane. We will also analyse image processing methods and methods for measuring the contraction. The block diagram will be designed and requirements for the measuring platform will be specified. The programme will be realized in LabWIEV programming language.
Biosignal processing - clusetr analysis
Příhodová, Petra ; Maděránková, Denisa (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problem with cluster analysis and biosignal classification options. The principle of cluster analysis, methods for calculating distances between objects and the standard process in the implementation of clustering are described in the first part. For biosignals processing,it is necessary to get familiar with the primary parameters of these signals in the following sections of thesis, process biosignals and methods for recording of action potentials described. Based on studying different clustering methods is presented a program with the applied method kmedoid in the next section of this thesis. The steps of this program are described in detail and in the end of thesis functionality is tested on a database of signals ÚBMI.
Vectorcardograms - long term signals
Sedlář, Martin ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This project deals with anatomy and electrophysiology of heart. It describes the structure of cardiac muscle, mechanism of myocard's contraction, heart work, the origin and registration of electric signals of heart – electrocardiogram (ECG) and vectorcardiogram (VCG). Part of the work is design and creation of a software application for calculation and graphical presentation of vectorcardograms, useful for experimental data available on ÚBMI VUT in Brno.
Biofeedback and its practical use
Dvořák, Jiří ; Hrozek, Jan (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
The aim of this work is describe common methods of biological feedback therapy that is used to treat some psychosomatic diseases. Subsequently, the description is focused on minimal brain dysfunction treatment by the help of EEG biofeedback. Properties and technical requirements for this therapy are concretized. The last part of this thesis is dedicated to the design and realization of practical software tool for EEG biofeedback therapy which is made in LabView 7.1. The M535 acquisition unit and NI USB-6221 measuring device are used for hardware solution.
Electronics for muscle activity monitoring
Lavička, Jiří ; Vlach, Radek (referee) ; Krejčí, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and compilation of device for monitoring of muscle activity. You can find there a generally introduction of monitoring of this activity. Futheremore it pushes ahead process of plan of electronics and DPS. In final part of this thesis is shown summary of whole device and also there is a example of measurement.
Sensitivity of action potential to changes of inward rectifier potassium current IK1 is different in recent models of human ventricular cardiomyocytes
Pásek, Michal ; Šimurda, J. ; Christé, G.
The inwardly rectifying potassium current IK1 is one of the principle ionic currents responsible for repolarization phase of mammalian action potentials (APs). To estimate the impact of individual ionic currents on AP configuration, mathematical models have been widely used. In this study, we compared the effects of alcohol-induced changes of IK1 on AP duration (APD) as simulated in four recently published computer models of human ventricular cells. As expected, increasing or decreasing IK1 conductance by 20% respectively caused a shortening or a lengthening of APD. However, the effect was largely model-dependent, ranging from 1% to about 15% change of APD. Given the conflicting available experimental data on the features of IK1 in human ventricular myocytes there is a need for a set of well-established end-point constraints for a reliable human ventricular myocyte model to be generated.
Methods of measurement of electrical voltage on the cell membrane
DIVOKÝ, Karel
The aim of this work was to compile a comprehensive list of methods that deal with the research of voltage on the cell membrane. The work should help in orientation in these methods, as well as understanding of their physical and biological principle. In the first part is analysis of physical properties of membrane potential; in the second part are the most important methods for measuring membrane potential. Very important is the comparison of these methods in terms of their focus, localization, physical demands or in terms degree of damage of object under examination.
