CIRCULATION
Bartošová, Zuzana ; Vlasák, Robert (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
The diploma project Circulation tries to solve the problem of repeating cycles. It is an object with organic shape, created from a tube with light circulation on it. This object is based on idea of human constantly repeating actions and processes, whether they refer to the human body and mind, nature or society. The object is created site-specifically in to the gallery (Brno Gallery OFF/FORMAT) and tries to fill the space. The line passing through the gallery space can be seen as a route or path, but it can also remind a movement without a clear goal, or go around in circles. The omnipresent cycle, is then an individual contribution to the whole and it can be presented as a irregular curve full of dramatic twists and turns, ups and downs. The light (made by digital LED strip), which constantly copies the organic shape of the tube, represents an endless flow of information. The object tries to point out the never ending circulations in our lives; the object does not solve the problem, it is rather a statement.

Generation and mesh adaptation of hybrid meshes for numerical simulation of compressible flows
Kyslerová, Kristína ; Felcman, Jiří (referee) ; Dolejší, Vít (advisor)
The Navier-Stokes equations describe the viscous compressible flow. They can be solved using triangular or quadrilateral meshes. For a flow past an airfoil, physical effects proceeding in the boundary layer and the wake can be captured with the quadrilateral meshes while out of this area it is more effective to use the triangular meshes. In this work we investigate the use of hybrid meshes - combination of triangles and quadrilaterals.

Thermally stratified atmospheric flow modelling
Jirk, Aleš ; Brechler, Josef (advisor) ; Jaňour, Zbyněk (referee)
In this thesis there is simulated an incompressible laminar flow in a higher-order accuracy around a circle cylinder with usage of an immersed boundary method and around a cylinder with a square cross-section with an influence of a thermal stratification. In the theoretical part the system of Navier-Stokes equations with Bussinesq approximation is derived and the methods for simulating are described. Fifth order WENO shock-capturing scheme reconstructs advections terms on the boundaries of control volumes. An explicit fourth-order Runge-Kutta scheme solves the first step of a fractional steps method. The obstacle with the circle cross-section is described by the immersed boundary method. In the implementation section there is interpreted the structure of programs for 2D cases. In the section Numerical experiments there is realized testing of the examples with the exactknown results the linear hyperbolic equations, the Burgers equations and the Euler equations and of a square cavity flow with Reynolds numbers of 100,1000 and 5000 with known numerical results for the Navier-Stokes equation. There is solved the flow around a square (and a circle) cylinder for Reynolds numbers 30; 200. Strouhal numbers are computed for von Kármán vortex street. Finally the flow around a square cylinder with influence of thermal...

Education on human for social communication
Kudová, Lucie ; Pelcová, Naděžda (advisor) ; Semrádová, Ilona (referee) ; Hogenová, Anna (referee)
The dissertation points out the huge potential of social communication that is often undervalued. It tries to clear of scientist interpretation of communication. It is understood in a simplified way only as a flow, retrieval, providing, and handing atomized pieces of information on. This work attempts philosophical divulgence of the sense and of the core of communication. At the same time there is used multidisciplinary attitude to the issue as well. Philosophy interprets communication not only as universal condition of human being, as a mean of mutual understanding and sympathy, but also as searching and forming of one's own identity. Even if helpful, dialogical social communication has to master its own crisis (true partnership, co-existence, solidarity and unity wasted somewhere) which immediately contributed to the series of further crisis (including the crisis of upbringing) it remains the only possible way to master all manner of crisis. Solution is then considered in training to social communication, to dialogical conflict solving. We should learn to tolerate and to understand the other man. Education should take care of improving of social communication and finding ways of new possibilities. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

International development aid and assistance
Cimrová, Michaela ; Půlpán, Karel (advisor) ; Sojka, Milan (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is chart to the development and the level of international development assistance from beginning to the present. The thesis is divided into the six main chapters. The first chapter which specifies and characterizes official development assistance is followed by the historical analysis summarizing development of main trends and institutions. The next part deals with development of financial flows moving to developing countr ies and is focused especially on period of thirty years since the end of 1960s to the end of 1990s. The forth chapter describes the most important international oraganizations which act in the area of development cooperation. The fifth part presents question of effectiveness of external assistance, what is the role of government and institutional environment for efficient resaults of assistance in developing countries. Finally, there is an assessment of development of aid and considering its role at the present time. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Remittances in Mexico: Instrument for Poverty Reduction?
Černá, Lucie ; Šánová, Lucie (advisor) ; Kučerová, Irah (referee)
Diploma thesis "Remittances in Mexico: Instrument for Poverty Reduction?" deals with the problem of remittances sent by Mexican migrants from USA to their families and their potential impact on poverty reduction. Remittances represent the second largest source of external finances for Mexico- right after revenues from oil exports. They even exceed incomes from tourism and foreign direct investments. Mexican government, together with migrant clubs in USA launched a program to promote more effective use of remittances. The aim of my thesis is to evaluate the impact of remittances on Mexican economy, concretely on poverty reduction. Firstly I will focus on Mexican migration trends in the context of Latin American and Caribbean region, because remittances are the most tangible demonstration of international labor migration. The second chapter addresses to remittances in general and in the next part I will focus on situation in Mexico in three partial periods: the beginning of 21. century, then I evaluate the circumstances after the terrorist attacks in 2001 and third period deals with the upcoming financial crisis and its impact on the flows of remittances. Last chapter involves evaluation of the impact of remittances on sending and receiving countries and Mexico and appraisal of successfulness of the...

Migration politics of Australia: shift or continuity in this policy?
Blažková, Jiřina ; Cihelková, Eva (advisor) ; Popovová, Marie (referee)
The primary goal of this paper is to analyse the development of Australian migration politics from its creation to the present. By fundamentally examining the migration legislation and the structure of Department of Immigration and Citizenship, this paper analyses global migration flow in comparison to Australia. After dissecting the influential periods in Australian immigration from the: gold rush; White Australia; and, multicultural eras of Australian immigration, this paper charts the creation and examines the development of Australian immigration policy. This document then draws attention to the contemporary immigration policy and migration flows in Australia. Highlighted at the end is the correlation between: population and economic growth with immigrant intake and, Australian political changes at the beginning of the 21st century.

Chromatography method optimization for HPLC determination of carotenoids.
Dvořáková, Petra ; Šatínský, Dalibor (advisor) ; Solich, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with searching for optimal conditions for determination of carotenoids lutein, betacarotene and zeaxanthin. High performance liquid chromatography - HPLC was used for determination. During searching for optimal conditions many various columns and mobile phases were tested. Primary information about carotenoids separation was obtained from scientific literature. There were tested both types of chromatography - normal phases chromatography and reversed phases chromatography. The most frequently tested columns were C18 columns from different producers. The biggest problem for HPLC determination and separation of these three substance were position isomers of lutein and zeaxanthin. Separation of these substances is relatively difficult and it wasn't completely solved in this thesis. In spite of it new metod for determination and separation of three carotenoids was developed. This method used isocratic elution at column Zorbax SB C18 (50 x 4,6 mm, 2 μm), UV detection at 450 nm, mobile phase of methylene chloride:hexan:acetonitrile (2,5:2,5:95), injected volume 1 μl and flow rate at 1 ml/min.

Personal and family finances-your own business as a path to riches
Hromasová, Lucie ; Smrčka, Luboš (advisor) ; Sladkovský, Otakar (referee)
The goal was to implement a business plan that is viable and will provide long-term profit. I wanted to prove, as the name suggests, running a business can lead to wealth, because not everyone is lucky enough to get rich. In my business plan, I would theoretically manage it. I implemented a pension for elderly, Ltd., which would make a profit on just two out of three stated options. The first option I have called "Optimistic", while I consider it as the default option. This option would only occur if the pension was fully occupied. As it is known, it is just an ideal vision. At the same time, I don't want to condemn this idea, because with ensuring adequate demand at the beginning could this idea be fulfilled. Next option called "Realistic" would mean occupying the pension by 75 %. The profit would be 3 times lower by comparing with the Optimistic one, but would still make amount somewhere around hundred thousands crowns. That means it is still quite positive result. Regarding the third option "Pessimistic" I must simply state, I would have to leave the business because I'm having substantial loss in the first and second year of business. In the following years, the profit and loss statement shows that I make profit. It does not solve anything, because throughout the enterprise the cash flow is in negative numbers. Consequently, I have no funds to operate the pension and primarily to repay the loan. So I would like to claim, that I reached the goal I got to myself and simultaneously I even pointed out other options, where in one case the goal wasn't accomplished.
