The Exceptionality of the Usual

My thesis The Exceptionality of the Usual consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. Practical part involves a set of sixteen still-life paintings in which a technic of dry pastel is used. Theoretical part surveys the art genres in still-life paintings of artists who created their opuses in the first half of the 20th century. At the beginning of my thesis I deal with and clear up the points of view that I take into account when examining artistic expressions and outlining historical development of still-life painting. Then I analyse particular periods of artistic life of modern artists in which they dealt with these topics. I observe and trace the effects that affected their work, their artistic intentions and work processing on the whole. The authors are integrated chronologically into continuity periods according to particular artistic streams. The illustrated appendix A. completes the text. At the end of my thesis I describe the technic of dry pastel and my work on my own still-life paintings that are enclosed to my thesis in the illustrated apendix B.

Night city (collection of drawings)

This master thesis called Night city (the collection of drawings) consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of the city as a specific complex in the terms of urban planning and architectonics. The thesis is also aimed at the description of the city as an inspiration and a theme in the context of art development from its beginnings to the present day. The text is completed with the visual annex - part I. The practical part consists of a cycle of seven drawings made by mixed media; the documentation of the workflow is a part of the annex II. and III.

GPU Accelerated SAT Solver

This thesis is concerned with design and implementation of a complete SAT solver accelerated on GPU. The achitecture of modern graphics cards is described as well as the CUDA platform and a list of common algorithms used for solving the boolean satisfiability problem (the SAT problem). The presented solution is based on the 3-SAT DC alogirthm, which belongs to the family of well-known DPLL based algorithms. This work describes problems encountered during the design and implementation. The resulting application was then analyzed and optimized. The presented solver cannot compete with state of the art solvers, but proves that it can be up to 21x faster than an equivalent sequential version. Unfortunately, the current implementation can only handle formulas of a limited size. Suggestions on further improvements are given in final sections.

The problem of infertility and the methods of resolving..

4 Abstract This diploma thesis is concerned with modern methods of treatment for infertility. It examines to what extent and in what cases are these methods used and what risk does it pose for a woman's and a child's health. Paticular emphasis is placed on the methods of assisted reproductive technology as the most used, effective and the most invasive. Nowadays 10-15% of couples face the problem of infertility. In most of the cases this problem can be solved with the help of hormonal therapy, surgery or assisted reproductive technology. The most common complication of ART (assisted reproductive technology) is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome which leads to higher frequency of miscarriages and can be fatal for a woman. Since more that one embryo is usually transferred in ART children conceived with the help of this method can face different problems related to multiple pregnancy such as higher risk of preterm birth, higher risk of congenital disorder or intrauterine growth retardation. Interactivity in Museology

The MA Thesis makes a brief survey about one of interesting trends in museology - the interactivity. First part of the Thesis is devoted to the definition of interactivity in the relation with museums. Interactivity is understanded as a possibility for the visitors to be active and creative at the museum, to use more senses than only their eyes, the possibility to touch the exhibited objects. From all types of museums two are considered to be completely interactive or hands-on - Science Centers and Children's museums. The next part of the thesis is dedicated to the fundamental aspects of Arts Marketing and interactivity is assigned to the Product of museums as one of its aspects. An analyzis of some foreign and Czech interactive museums is also an important part of the Thesis.

Věra Špánová-Boudníková is an artist who chose textile as her artistic medium. She emerged on the artistic scene in 1960's. Her early works were influenced by studies of textile technologies under guidance of Bohdan Mrázek and Jindřich Vohánka and also by the new concept of "authentic tapestry". It was at that time when she met Vladimír Boudník. In the1970's and 80's artist's work went through several changes. Tapestry was liberated from the wall and became an object. Artist started to determinate herself against the decorative quality of Textile art. This tendency culminated in art works from 90's when she left handmade tapestries and started to use prefabricated textiles as a part of her objects. In this time period, artist's fellowship with the artistic group Žararaka and her active participation at group's symposiums played a significant role in her life and work. It was at these symposiums where Věra Špánová-Boudníková created her most conceptual objects and it is also where the biggest transformation of her artistic style took place. Souhrn Název práce: Možnosti užití arteterapie a její pozice v rámci komprehenzívní rehabilitace : pilotní průzkum Title: The possibilities in application ofart therapy within komprehensive rehabilitation : a pilot survey Cíle práce: Zpracovat rešerši literatury věnované arteterapii a chronické bolesti psychogenního charakteru včetně možností jejího ovlivnění pomocí psychoterapie. Doplnit tyto poznatky o sondu do praktické aplikace arteterapie. Zjistit, zda má arteterapie uplatnění v rámci komprehenzívní rehabilitace, především při chronické bolesti, a navrhnout konkrétní možnosti využití technik arteterapie ve fyzioterapeutické prax1. Metoda: Jedná se o rešerši doplněnou sondou do praktické aplikace arteterapie a její pozice na třech různých klinických pracovištích. Tento pilotní průzkum trval 14 týdnů a data byla získávána pomocí zúčastněného pozorování, nestandardizovaných rozhovorů s 28 probandy a konzultací s arteterapeuty. Výsledky: Arteterapie má pozitivní vliv na řadu faktorů podílejících se na vzniku či ovlivňujících průběh různých onemocněních a psychických poruch. V několika případech byl v návaznosti na arteterapii zaznamenán i ústup bolesti. "Frontáž". The Phenomenon of "frontáž" in Czech Art

Můj dědeček se věnoval numizmatice. Jako malá jsem ho mnohokrát pozorovala, jak svou sbírku mincí doplňuje a třídí. Snad abych ho nerozptylovala, naučil mě objevovat tajemství rubů i líců kovových penízků, z nichž jsem pak sama za pomoci tužky a papíru odkrývala neznámé reliéfhí předlohy. Myslím, že mi tato zábava i napětí vydržely hodně dlouho. Později, a to především díky svému otci, jsem obdobným způsobem získávala tvary a strukturu listů, květů i kůry stromů a vytvářela si tak svůj vlastní pseudoherbář. Ani děda, ani otec, ani já jsme však nikdy nepojmenovali naše otisky, respektive způsob jejich získávání, frotáží. S tímto slovem jsem se poprvé setkala až při studiu výtvarné výchovy na střední pedagogické škole, kde jsem, krom teoretického poučení, realizovala i několik praktických úkolů. Později, když jsem své žáky výtvarné výchově sama vyučovala a s touto technikou jsme pracovali, pozorovala jsem, že i oni přijímají frotáž se stejným zájmem jako já kdysi. Někdy jsme si uměle vytvořili motivy z lepenky - těmi byly například fragmenty stavebních prvků jihočeského selského baroka nebo zvětšeniny cechovních pečetí, které pak nalepené tvořily reliéfhí podklad pro frotáž. Jindy nám posloužily předlohy z přírody - listy, dřevo, kůra apod. A nakonec nemohu nepřipomenout kamenné náhrobky na zdejším židovském...

SOUHRN Název: Arteterapie s dětmi s těžkými poruchami chování Title: Artetherapy with children with difficult bebehavioral disturbance Cíle : Cílem diplomové práce je aplikovat arteterapeutické techniky při práci s dětmi s poruchami chování a zjistit zda došlo ke splnění daných hypotéz. Hypotézy : 1. uvolnění komunikačních bariér,vyjádření emocí 2. optimalizaci sebehodnocení, tím také vztahů s vrstevníky 3. odklon od nežádoucích projevů chování 4. u pasivních klientů zvýšení aktivity Metody : Diplomová práce používá jak teoretického rozboru východisek, tak praktického ověření této metody. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy a metody arteterapie, poruch chování a důsledky v kresebném projevu dětí. Dále je zde podán přehled možných příčin vzniku poruch chování. Vpraktické části jsem se především zaměřila na rozbor výtvarné práce dětí. Projekt jsem provedla na základě aplikace jednotlivých technik a subjektivního ohodnocení chování dětí v průběhu provádění technik. Praktická část ve svém úvodu konkretizuje prostředí ze kterého děti pocházejí a podrobnější anamnézy šesti dětí, se kterými jsem delší čas pracovala a získala od nich velké množství nádherných prací. Následuje podrobný rozbor podmínek projektu, zdůvodnění výběru účastníků, rozbor aktivit, popis a význam jednotlivých činností. Výsledky...
