Discovering the Sense of the Poems with Pupils of the 3rd grade of Primary School

The goal of my dissertation is to find ways and methods by which pupils will be able to most effectively reveal the sense of poetic text. Unearthing the meaning of the poem requires a proactive approach of pupil. It is incompatible with the transmissive approach in teaching. Much knowledge is inspired by constructivist teaching methods. The work is aimed at pupils of the third grade of elementary school. In the practical part based on lessons learned from the literature I suggest pilot verification and contemplate such literary and educational activities in the first grade of primary school, where the teacher has the uncovering of the meanig of poetic text as the primary objective. The methods used in this work are consistent with the program Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking.
Role of illustration in understanding a text at primary school

The aim of this thesis is to explore the region of illustrations in the books for children and youth not only from the illustration itself, but also in the context of the relationship of illustration and text. The theoretical part deals with the development of the illustrations, visual and reading literacy and areas of reading comprehension. It touch upon topics of the maps of learning progress. The thesis bringing the possibilities of work with illustrations in lessons of literature education at primary school. The practical part of the thesis fucuses on the particular teached hours of literary education in the first, third and fifth grade, in which the work with illustrations with the aim of text comprehension is used. Furthermore, the practical part brings a range of other interesting books suitable for similar work in lessons of literary education to the reader. Literary-educational Project Focusing on The Education of Little Tree by Forrest Carter

The diploma thesis deals with the introduction and subsequent implementation of eleven activities focusing on The Education of Little Tree by Forrest Carter. The three-day literary- educational project had been carried out with pupils attending a primary school. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is concerned with the meaning of literary education aspect of the educational field Czech Language and Literature and discusses the timeless validity of Komensky's educational principles to which education professionals still refer to today. Furthermore, it focuses on the level of integration of literary education into Czech educational programmes, description of the expected outcomes and educational content as well as the key competencies related to this educational field. It describes the meaning and different ways in which a literary work can be interpreted. Finally, it demonstrates the importance of the creativity development in literary education. The main focus of this thesis lies on the practical part which introduces the literary-educational project. Fantasy Genre of the Eleven Years old Readers

In her thesis Fantasy Genre of the Eleven Years Old Readers the author is concerned with the education of fantasy category for 11 years old pupils, respectively for the fifth year of the primary school. Centre of work consists in practical part, where the author comments and reflects her suggestions of past lectures based on extracts from fantasy books. She indicates how to interpose fantasy genre to students in literary education, for them to be able to gradually disclose and understand the meaning of the text (process of discovery and creation), share and evaluate important thoughts arising from it and subsequently apply these in real life. Apart from that are some accomplished plans of her lectures, directed also towards personality and social development of the individuals. Reading strategies in language arts lessons in grades 6-9

The main goal of this dissertation is finding out, which reading skills should be developed by students of middle school, and by which methods, strategies, forms of class organisation, teaching aids and teaching procedures can be reading skills developed in five teaching lessons. The dissertation uses comparative method for finding skills for progress and application method in preparations, which will verify theoretical knowledge about efficiency of methods for progress of reading strategies and skills and described strategies for progress skills in practise. The research was oriented to skills from research PISA, specifically to inferying, information searching and appraisal of text. In five teaching lessons was developed inferying by strategy clarifying. Mild progress was noticed by information searching, which was developed by strategy identification of importance. By students was not developed appraisal of text by strategy of evaluation. To the main reasons of mild or any progress were also the methods. To the least efficient methods belonged I.N.S.E.R.T., which is oriented to information searching, and DRTA, which is oriented to appraisal of text. Workshop reading in kindergarten to support the development of pre-literacy

The thesis Reading Workshop in Kindergarten as a support for the development of reading literacy deals in the theoretical part with the characteristics of pre-school children and their capabilities. It further investigates the methods that could be used for and are essential for the development of reading literacy in the pre-school age and the role of the family in this respect. The theoretical part is concluded with the introduction of the scheme Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking mentioning its basic resources. It shows that the reading workshop methods are very efficient for the active learning of children. The practical part describes 7 reading workshops that have been implemented in a typical kindergarten and this is supplemented with detailed comments. The empirical part investigates the family environment of children and, as based on parents' observations, it evaluates the contribution of reading workshops to the development of reading literacy of pre- school children. Reading workshops proved to be beneficial especially in terms of the growing interest of children in reading and also in terms of children's creativity development. Relationship between the parents of pre-scholars to the children book

This thesis deals with pre-reading literacy and focuses on the factors and actors that it develops. The first chapter deals with the theoretical definition and importance of education to the reading. The second chapter outlines the literary form of preschool education and how the literary education is included in the general educational program for preschool education. The third chapter is devoted to the primary and most important factor that the development of a child's reading act, and that is the family. It shows the possibilities of how children can relate to the books in the family to support the role of the relationship of their parents to read and stresses the importance of reading and storytelling in the family circle. The following chapter deals with the cooperation of nursery school and family in the development of a child's reading, closer is about the influence of teacher's personality and it offers opportunities to work with the book in full day kindergarten regime. The last two chapters of the theoretical part characterizes the specifics of children's literature and provide an overview of the typology of literature for preschool children. Access to education through dramatic literary education

12 Abstract My thesis "Access to education through dramatic literary education" focuses on creative educational process of literary education which uses the methods and principles of drama education at the level of primary school education. The theoretical part deals with a possibility to integrate the area of human knowledge, interdisciplinary relationships and the presence of creative component into RVP. Theoretical part also points out the effectiveness of linking drama education with literary education. In the main part (practical part) we can find an ensemble of literary-drama lessons which analysis creatively a different literary genres. Well thought through lessons provides students with deeper understanding on literary work (text) not only in term of rational meanings, but emotional as well. The set of lessons is in line with the new concept of primary education (vis. RVP) which goal is child development in cognitive area (especially acquisition of tools for exploring and developing thought flow), in skill area, attitudes and values. The set of lessons emphasizes on interdisciplinary relationships and creativity. Part of the lessons was tested (reflected) with children in primary school during the school year 2012/2013

Life situations in literature. Worksheets for ninth grade of secondary schools

The possible approach towards the teaching of literature at the 9th grade level of primary education is the central topic of this thesis. The main idea is to base literature teaching on a system of working sheets, which relate to extracts from 4 selected books. These books have a common theme; real-life situations relevant to students of the 9th grade. Such theme has been preselected on the author's perception that students are becoming less in contact with the literary world, thus seeking a path to bring students closer to it. The goal is to show pupils the relevance and practical use of literature, with the use of diverse tasks and assignments and to convince them that reading may be entertaining as well as educating. A specific characteristic of the thesis is the fact that the research has been carried out in a given classroom at one of Prague's primary schools, where the author teaches Czech Language and Literature. Therefore, a key element of the thesis is the discussion of first hand findings and lessons-learned during these lessons. On the basis of the working sheet system trial results in class, this method proves to be efficient. Students reacted positively to the learning system and the text excerpts allowed them to complete literary tasks and also to discuss the described real-life situations...
