In this bachelor thesis we are concerned with basic knowledge in random set theory. We define here such terms, as capacity functional, se- lection, measurable and integrable multifunction, Castaing representation and Aumann expectation of random closed set. We present Choquet theo- rem, Himmelberg measurability theorem, theorems of properties of selections and expectation. We present also several examples which illustrate the the- ory. 1

Benda, Josef ; Pavlíček, Václav (advisor) ; Malý, Karel (referee) ; Musil, Jan (referee)
V. ABSTRACT/ ENGLISH SUMMARY The objects of this dissertation thesis are restitutions of property of former noble families in the Czech Republic after the year 1989. It concerns very controversial theme; this statements is even more valid if we speak about disputable restitutions of property. The issue is only rarely viewed from complex and impartial angle; this fact is caused i.a. by great complicacy of the factual and legal substance. Even the availability of historical documents is problematic, too. The public is frequently not aware of or has even no idea on certain key facts of individual cases, as a result of which usually only certain matters are perceived; this subjective perception is strengthened by individuals, who are from various reasons interested in ending the controversies concerning restitution of property of former noble families in favor of these former owners; these individuals use during their activities different instruments, which are described in detail in this dissertation thesis. In their efforts, the media are frequently their important backers, who not from interest, but due to unfamiliarity or ignorance, stress in some cases only the facts in favor of the former owners of property, which ends in deformed view of public on some very disputable cases. This dissertation thesis is...

Varsity Sports in Canada from the student-athlete's point of view
Preibischová, Monika ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Crossan, William Morea (referee)
Title: Varsity sport in Canada in the perspective of foreign and domestic student- athletes Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to analyze the system of varsity sport in Canada, to identify its problematic areas from the perspective of student-athletes and to make suggestions for its improvements. Methods: In this thesis the method of descriptive analysis was used. The information on varsity sport in Canada was mainly collected by exploring the documents of the governing body for varsity sports, the Canadian University Sport. The second method used was an interview. This was used in order to get additional information on varsity sports and to get suggestions and ideas from student-athletes. Results: Several problematic areas in varsity sports in Canada were identified: athletic financial awards, funding of the teams, several eligibility rules (number of years of eligibility, academic requirements, athletes' age limit), non-Canadian student-athletes, limited number of varsity sports, and limited opportunities for the athletes to continue their sport after graduation. Suggestions were made in order to improve these areas. Keywords: varsity sport, student-athlete, eligibility rules, Sport Canada, Canadian Sport System, Canadian University Sport

International protection of children in armed conflicts
Čechlovská, Soňa ; Hýbnerová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Ondřej, Jan (referee)
Children are particularly vulnerable individuals and therefore, they have particular rights under international law that recognize their special need for protection. Armed conflicts constitute the biggest threat to them. I have chosen this topic for admiring the strength of children affected by armed conflicts to face all the problems brought by armed conflicts. On the other hand, children are indispensable in reconciliation and reconstruction of society. The aim of the thesis is to describe and analyze the protection provided by law to the children affected by armed conflicts and the application of those provisions. Chapter One deals with these questions. Chapter Two is introductory and is subdivided into five parts. Part One describes the relation between international humanitarian law (IHL) and international human rights law and their applicability. Part Two deals with the absence of universally applicable definition of "armed conflict" and the applicability of legal instruments. Part Three briefly introduces basic ideas of protection of children in armed conflicts. Part Four defines the term "child" and explains possible problems of universally accepted definition. Part Five analyzes contemporary armed conflicts and the impact on children, whether they participate (directly or indirectly) in...

The attitude towards popular literature within Czech literary culture of the avant-garde period
Holanová, Markéta ; Janáček, Pavel (advisor) ; Bílek, Petr (referee)
The thesis is focused on the description of the "movement to the periphery". This term is frequently used to characterize the movements in literature in the 1920's. The author describes publistic discourses discussing the popular and the so called folk literature that we can find in the literary journals and miscellanies. The initial part of the thesis outlines the basis of Czech avant-garde movement and it also concerns the problem of popular literature. The theoretical part of this chapter is accompanied by consideration of this topic in the essays of brothers Čapek that are authentic for the time period. The main idea of the thesis can be found in the fourth chapter where the discussion about folk literature in selected journals and miscellanies is described. The final chapter summarizing discourses mentioned above is constructed as a sum of portraits of six personalities whose opinions represent specific contributions to this topic.

Mean variance models in Markovian decision processes: Optimality conditions
Sladký, Karel ; Sitař, M.
We consider a discrete-time Markov reward processes with finite state and action spaces. In contrast with the classical models we assume that the (weighted) long run mean variance, i.e. the (weighted) difference of the ratio of long run second to first moments of total expected reward and the long run average return, is minimized. Ideas for finding optimal long-run average return of Markov and semi-Markov decision processes by policy iterations are heavily employed.

Postwar transfer of German people from the border of Czechoslovakia, its expectations, course of transfer and consequences
Salomonová, Petra ; Vaněk, Miroslav (advisor) ; Petráš, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this study is not to asses whether the transfer was morally correct or to generalize my findings, but to summarize various data, events, research and information related to this theme in one unit and to offer readers an unbiased, comprehensive and understandable work. The theoretical part of this study will outline relations between Czechs and Germans in the recent past. The next section of the study will map the individual phases of the transfer, their characteristics and problems, including displacement losses. In the practical section of the work, I will describe the area of research and the methodology of data collection. Afterwards I will focus on stories of persons involved in the transfer from the region of Podkrkonoší which were collected by the oral history method. Primarily due to the method of oral history, I would like to show this problem from the so-called "other side".

CIRCULATION
Bartošová, Zuzana ; Vlasák, Robert (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
The diploma project Circulation tries to solve the problem of repeating cycles. It is an object with organic shape, created from a tube with light circulation on it. This object is based on idea of human constantly repeating actions and processes, whether they refer to the human body and mind, nature or society. The object is created site-specifically in to the gallery (Brno Gallery OFF/FORMAT) and tries to fill the space. The line passing through the gallery space can be seen as a route or path, but it can also remind a movement without a clear goal, or go around in circles. The omnipresent cycle, is then an individual contribution to the whole and it can be presented as a irregular curve full of dramatic twists and turns, ups and downs. The light (made by digital LED strip), which constantly copies the organic shape of the tube, represents an endless flow of information. The object tries to point out the never ending circulations in our lives; the object does not solve the problem, it is rather a statement.

Another considerable part is devoted to the core staff of every enterprise - the low and middle management - which is dealt with focus on their development and the axe of it - the Performance management process. The realization of activities described is analyzed at the example of one of the Tesco stores in Czech Republic, Department Store Prague, Narodni trida. Following the theory and practice I tried to bring several ideas and...
