The personal character of economic crime offender
MIKLOŠOVÁ, Adriana
The personal character of economic crime offender Economic crime is one of serious and frequently latent offences. Taking into account the character of offenders, the exposition of this crime is difficult and time-consuming. The range of causes, on which economic crime is based, is wide. From the global viewpoint, what is important is the change of population mentality towards consumerism, the increase of unemployment, economic crisis and a grest number of other causes that affect this situation. These crimes with a grave social appeal are in many cases caused by a well-situated and university educated upper class citizens with a good grasp of the relevant economical and judicial matters, i.e. Citizens that are not be expected to behave in this anti-social way. The aim of my diploma thesis is to create an overview, to describe, clarify and formulate in a certain way the character of economic crime offender. Closely connected to this topic are the definitions of several conceptions from these points of issue. This diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical part (with a partial overview of the development of criminal law No. 140/1961 Coll.) focused on the field of criminal law. The practical part studies the assessment and evaluation of the questionnaire method and the creation of result based on these facts. The aim of this work is to provide the reader or any person interested in this topic with the basics of economic crime and with a list of related books for additional information. Resulting from aims of this work and from the study of professional literature and statistical data, the following hypothesis was established: {\clqq}Economic crime offender is a well-situated citizen`` and {\clqq}Higher level of education results in higher ingenuity of the offence and, consequently, in higher damage caused by the offence.`` A conclusion based on questionnaire evaluation was reached and the resulting facts claim that in most cases is economic crime connected with offender´s business or working activities. Although it was partially confirmed that these offenders are usually intelligent and they tend to have at least higher education, at the same time it seems evident that economic crime is not only a field for this kind of offender. A substantial part of thes offenders has acquired its education through formal economic qualification while doing business and, at the same time, it has become evident that great losses can be caused by offenders with a lower level of education.

Dudová, Zuzana ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; Urban, Traian (referee)
The European Union entered into close contact with Mercosur shortly after Mercosur's founding in 1991. Since then, the two blocs have established economic and political relations and they are now on the path towards concluding a considerably ambitious Association agreement, the first one of its kind ever concluded by two groupings of integrated countries. However, the negotiation process has continued for the last decade without leading to any result. The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the relation which the European Union currently has with Mercosur, examining whether its potential has been utilized sufficiently. Background framework is formed by the theory of (new) regionalism. Then, besides providing an insight into the various spheres of cooperation between the blocs, the thesis places the EU-Mercosur relation into a wider context of the global trade network and evaluates the effect brought by such interaction. Within the evaluation, the role of each of the two regional blocs is assessed and suggestions are made regarding the prospects of future EU-Mercosur cooperation. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Coffee Trading on Commodity Markets
Kašička, Jan ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Fičura, Milan (referee)
This thesis offers a comprehensive view of coffee trading on commodity markets. To describe the behavior of prices and their volatility, ARCH and GARCH models are used. These models analyse coffee prices of selected regions in Ethiopia, the birth place of coffee. The thesis connects the characteristics of soft commodity with current knowledge of financial econometrics. It also describes the effects of changes in exchange rates and oil prices on the price of coffee. Price volatility is examined with regard to deregulation and reforms on this market within the last three decades. Developments in the developing world caused a significant need for the progression and identification with the hedging instruments. These are closely linked to the globalized market with coffee, so it is conversely possible to absorb the shocks on small growers, who are significantly impacted by the globalized world.

Central Bank Monitoring - December 2016

Most of the central banks under review are maintaining their interest rates at the current low level or considering a further monetary policy easing. For example, Norges Bank is considering lowering its key rate and the Riksbank increasing the volume of purchased bonds. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has lowered the key rate further. The ECB left interest rates unchanged in the previous period but extended its bond purchase programme and adjusted its parameters. On the other hand, the global economy is watching anxiously whether the Fed’s interest rates increase as expected at the close of this year. Spotlight addresses the effect of climate change on the financial sector, including central bank policies.
