Comparison of cities Prague and Bratislava after the year 1990

This thesis focuses on the comparison of Prague and Bratislava from 1990 to 2009 with regard to their sustainable development and future development trends. Until 1993, both capitals share the same direction, being part of the same country. Aim of this thesis is to evaluate comparison points with regard to their sustainable development and to answer the question if both cities have the same development after the year 1990. The thesis is divided into five sections. The first section outlines the bases of urban theory. The second section focuses on methods and data base. Analyses of both cities are described in the third and fourth sections. In the final fifth part, outcomes of comparison of both cities with regard to the development of major European capitals are evaluated. Results of the comparison are summarised in the conclusion.
Evaluation of mutual relations of firms and region - a case study of Preciosa and Jablonex

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to establish positive and negative aspects of localization of chosen companies in given region say in two ways -- in relationship in which company influences the region and in relationship in which region influences the company. One part of the thesis contains detailed characteristics of the companies Preciosa and Jablonex, both settled in the Liberec district. There is also described history of the industry of (costume) jewellery and of glass industry in which both companies are engaged. In all of that from the economical, social and environmental point of view. This bachelor thesis also represents progressive approach of the regional science also knows as "territorial impact assessment".
New model of cultural center

Culture and Art have, without a doubt, always been major development factors for people and the society as a whole. However, there is no effortless access for everyone or everywhere. This Thesis is focused on the phenomenon of the multifunctional cultural center as an institution developing and initiating cultural and communal life in a region or in a smaller regional city with no cultural infrastructure or background. The first part deals with the discursus of the contemporary cultural centers. Apart from the management issues of the centers, this Thesis handles their work with their target groups as well as their today's mission and activities, which all make these institutions unique. The short summary of the Czech culture centers typology is included; it maps their basic forms in the Czech Republic. The Thesis is ended with a factual proposal of a new multifunctional culture center, which puts the cultural awakening of the citizenry to a more creative way of life with a sense of belonging as its main priority.
Municipality economic reviews of municipalities

The subject of the bachelor thesis "Municipality economic reviews of municipalities" is to bring a near municipality economic review of municipalities in the Czech Republic. Each municipality is required to let its financial management to the reviewed by the law. The bachelor thesis has four parts. The first part inquires into the position and role of regions in the municipality economic review. The second part outlines differences between economic review in the region and audit. The third part is focused on the subject of economic review, as is defined in the law n. 420/2004 Sb. In the last part there is defined the situation in Zlínský kraj.
Road connection analysis of regional cities

At this time of economic crisis the diploma thesis may be even more accented by the necessity of good transport connections for the development of business and labour market flexibility. The main task is to determine whether economic performance of the regional city is in some equivalence to the road infrastructure. This means at first to develop the description of selected regional cities in terms of population, GDP per capita and GDP growth dynamics. Then it's logically connected with analysis of transport connection to regional cities, in the context of highway and road transport in comparison with the particular distances between them. Previous analysis lead to the synthesis of socioeconomic perspective, where we find out how the regional cities are more or less similar from socioeconomic perspective and in terms of transport links and hierarchical arrangement of the transport potential of regional cities.
Regional Literature as a Source of Cultural Identity; Regions Domažlicko and Náchodsko

Regional literature is an integral part of literary productions and one of the most signifiant elements of intangible culture. The diploma thesis "Regional Literature as a Source of Cultural Identity; Regions Domažlicko and Náchodsko" is trying to realize meaning and a function of this specific type of literature, whose main principle is a close relation to a particular territory. The main aim is to map the appearence of regional literature within a specific region. For these purposes are choosen regions Domažlicko and Náchodsko, in which regional literature has a long and strong tradition. At the same time is puting emphasis on the activity of libraries and regional publishers as subjects which have significantly contributed to the spread and preservation of regional literature. At the end the obtained results are summarized and on the basis these results is possible to draw general conclusions about the present position and functions of regional literature.
Tangible and intangible culture of region of Horehronie

The topic of the Bachelor's Thesis "Tangible and intangible culture of region of Horehronie" is description of cultural habits, traditions, cultural or national monuments and cultural events which are situated in the region. Thesis focuses also on specific cities and villages, which are the most important because of their monuments, events or other participation in preservation of culture. The most important is Brezno because it is administrative and cultural center of the region. Horehronie is well known by its strong relationship to folk traditions so I also focused on smaller villages such as Telgárt. Traditions are the most maintained and developed in there, and a lot of folk festivals take place there too. The benefit of this Thesis is to acquaint readers with the region of Horehronie, with its tangible and intangible culture and to find out how is culture maintained and developed by the population.
The influence of economic crisis on municipality and region revenues

The main topic of this thesis is the influence of economic crisis on municipality and region revenues. The work deals with the city of Jihlava and the Vysočina region. The subject of examination is development of four basic components of municipal and regional revenues between years 2008 - 2010. The thesis is divided into three main parts. Part One includes theoretical definition of municipalities and regions, their basic characteristics, and mechanism of the redistribution of taxes between the local municipal authorities. The second part analyzes the revenues of both subjects in each year. The third part deals with comparison of impact of the economic crisis on a specific city and region. One of the consequences of the economic crisis was fall of tax revenues of local government units. Jihlavas dependence on tax revenues is much more significant than dependence of Vysočina region. For this reason, the impact of the economic crisis on revenues was more significant for corporate town Jihlava.
The Analysis of Secondary Education in the Vysočina Region

The aim of the Bachelor Thesis on the topic "The Analysis of Secondary Education in the Vysočina Region" is to assess the specific issues of secondary education on the basis of available data, with regard to the regional labor market. The Thesis examines whether high school graduates conform to the demand in the regional labor market and whether the offer of secondary education adapts to this demand in the regional labor market. The first part of the Thesis focuses on the importance of education in general. The educational system of the Czech Republic and its developmental changes from 1989 to present are described there. Furthermore, secondary education is examined in detail and it is evaluated from the point of the development of level of education, number of students in individual types of secondary schools and the total number of schools. The second part of the Thesis compares the nationwide development and the revealed facts, with regard to the development of secondary education in the Vysočina Region. In the final part, it was examined in detail, on the basis of descriptive analysis, the system of secondary schools in the Vysočina Region, the number of students, the level of acquired education and subject-specifications characteristic for the Vysočina Region. Moreover, the application of individual graduates after leaving secondary school is compared. Based on the findings, it is reflected whether the offer of high school courses and the structure of secondary school graduates meet the demand of the regional labor market. The information from Czech Statistical Office, Ministry of Education, ÚIV, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, and regional information from yearbooks were used in the Thesis.
Internal Migration in the Czech Republic

This work explains the prevailing trends of internal migration in the Czech Republic, which have a major impact on the population and the overall development of individual regions. In the analysis of some key phenomena of internal migration, there have been formulated and tested four hypotheses, which were supplemented by more detailed analysis of population data. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that in the Czech Republic: (1) dominated internal migration from rural to urban than in the opposite direction, which means that they are manifested desurbanization processes; (2) total internal migration before 1989 was different than after this year; (3) are not all regions equally attractive to migrants; (4) internal migration does not meet certain defined conditions of the selectivity of migration.
