These products, which were devoloped in 80's and 90's sometimes refer to "new derivatives products". The aim of this diploma thesis is analyze selected new derivatives products, concretely barrier options and electricity futures.

Analýza hedgeových fondov a hedgeových stratégií
Austová, Lucia ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Halás, Vladimír (referee)
An objective of my graduation thesis is an analysis of hedge funds and hedge strategies while reflecting the distribution of the investments to right portfolio taking into account the risk. The main aim is to provide clear and consistent classification of whole variety of different hedge styles and strategies. There are plenty of different investment and trading strategies of hedge funds and their classification differs from analyst to analyst and from database to database. The work focuses on finding an alternative consistent classification of hedge funds which will lead to improvement of investment decisions of financial market participants, to effective distribution of the investment portfolio and therefore to elimination of undiversified risks. For the practical analysis I use real data of hedge fund returns of particular relevant time period. I focus on research and description of possible methods of hedge fund classification mentioning their pluses and minuses. After passionate evaluation of each method I have chosen two methods according to which I classify the hedge funds datasets and finally I compare the results of both. The theoretical part of work focuses on definition of hedge funds, hedge styles and strategies, pluses and minuses as well as risk accompanying particular strategy.

The Relationship of Christians and Muslims in the Czech Republic after 9/11 Terrorist Attacks on New York
Cikánek, Jiří ; Ventura, Václav (referee) ; Pelc, Bogdan (referee)
The objective of the thesis primarily is to identify the main characteristics of the relationship between Christian and Muslims in the Czech Republic after September 11, 2001 (here and now) based on the sociological survey. Subsquently, the ascertained concerns and hopes become subject to a theological reflection with the aim to assess their justification, or to outline the theological base for their evaluation and thereby, to aid in correct orientation when deciding on whether these concerns and hopes are justified, or whether they are prejudices, which have no support at the dogmatic level and which should be further avoided. Within the conducted sociological surveys, the following methods and techniques were applied: media analysis (nationwide press at selected time intervals), inquiry of the participants of a weekend gathering of Christians and Muslims, semi-controlled interveiws with selected respondents from the environment of the Catholic Church. Based on the above mentioned sociological surveys, dialogue was identified as hope. An in-depth examination indicated that the dialogue has a number of levels. A dialogue at an ethical and practical level represents a possible way out from the current situation, owing to its focus on common values and the common future of the participants, who care...

Trade unions and collective bargaining
Pavlíková, Gabriela ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Mikuláštík, Robert (referee)
Trade union movement is a part of modern society; it has participated in its forming and still has considerable influence. Trade unions have gone through difficult development and their membership has been diminishing lately, what can be explained especially by demographical influences, restructuralization of industry and growing tendency of population to solve important problems by themselves. Unions are respected partner in the process of collective bargaining and how the findings from the union contracts and the information sent by the trade unionists show, they are very powerful players in many areas. Although the information about modern bargaining models hasn't been recognized yet, trade unionists act pragmatically, target especially the question of wages and other benefits and rely upon the bargaining abilities of their leaders. Trade unions offer a great level of protection to all their members and other employees, but their activities have significant negative effects. They monopolize the work supply and hence cause rigidity of wages and structural unemployment, they support privileged groups of workers and these compelled benefits then reflect in the prices of products and services. Its activities thus inhibit efficient allocation of workforce and induce significant social consequences. Faced with international competition, Europe has to make an important decision about the level of sociability in the market system, what can be in near future influenced by deeper understanding of the necessity of changes. To that can contribute information from economic background and in longer horizon probably also the new generation with looser approach to solidarity.

International trade with writing instruments
KADLECOVÁ, Michaela
The purpose of this thesis was to analyse current situation in the stationery market within European Union. The results show that there is a strong competition in this business branch. In the member states of EU, there are more than 60 cooperating stationery manufacturers that are associated under the EWIMA organization. EWIMA plays an important role in the process of harmonisation of relevant legal provisions of individual member states with common legal framework of EU. The legal provisions of EU are focused mainly on the consumer protection, harmlessness of products, safety, environmental protection and also at waste management and treatment of chemicals.

Low Temperature Fuel Cells H2-O2 with Anionic and Bipolar Membrane
Barath, Peter ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with investigation of the catalysts and ionexchanege membranes for fuel cells H2-O2. The work contains the basic principles of chemical reactions, thermodynamic aspects and kinetic properties in PEM fuel cells.Ion-exchagers based on fluorinated polymer sulfonic acids known as NAFION are used in most cases. These compounds are very expensive. Also a strong corrosive attribute requires platinum as a catalysator. These facts make the membrane fuel cells fully non-competetive with e.g. internal combustion engine in spite of all ecological advantages of this electrical power source. The subject of doctoral thesis is research and development of compounds for the composite electrode materials base on NiOx, Ni-Pd and Raney Ni suitable as catalysts a nd alkaline or bipolar ionexchange membranes for electrochemical fuel cells.

Migrations of historical populations. Isotopic signatures in human bones and their applikation in archaeological interpretations
POŘÁDKOVÁ, Kateřina
In the Bachelor thesis called "Migration of historical populations. Isotopic signatures in human bones and their application in archaeological interpretations.", one of the most used research method stable isotope analysis, especially strontium isotope signature from human bones and teeth, is summarized on the basis of a literature review. Isotope analysis allows archaeologists and anthropologists to investigate human migration and the geographical origin of human populations based on the biochemistry of human skeletal remains. Isotopic research cooperates with other disciplines, because favorable conclusions could not be made without their use. The Bachelor thesis deals mainly with the strontium isotope signature recorded in human bones which is from my point of view, a strong tool for understanding the human prehistoric and historical migrations.

Detekční strategie pro sběr sekundárních elektronů v REM
Konvalina, Ivo ; Hovorka, Miloš ; Wandrol, Petr ; Mika, Filip ; Müllerová, Ilona
In the scanning electron microscope (SEM), the secondary electrons (SE) are usually detected by the Everhart-Thornley (ET) type detector, using a weak electrostatic field to attract low energy SE let us call it the standard system. This principle is employed for more than forty years. Modern SEMs achieve their improved image resolution by allowing the strong magnetic field of the objective lens (OL) to penetrate to the specimen surface (so called immersion system). Two SE detectors are usually used in this case: one is below the OL just as the standard ET detector (lower detector) and the other is positioned above the OL (upper detector). The final contrast of SE images for the same specimen varies with the energy and angular sensitivity of the detectors, connected with specific distributions of the electrostatic and magnetic fields in the specimen region.

Generation of transgenic mouse model to study biological role of KLK5 in epidermis
Kašpárek, Petr ; Sedláček, Radislav (advisor) ; Fafílek, Bohumil (referee)
A number of studies provide strong evidence that KLK5 is one of the most important serine proteases in the epidermis and is involved in processes such as desquamation, processing of antimicrobial peptides or induction of inflammatory reaction. The role of KLK5 has been deduced from in vitro experiments and thus its functions should be verified in vivo. This work aimed to develop a specific tissue targeting strategy to study the role of murine kallikreins in the epidermal compartment in vivo and to generate a transgenic model overexpressing mKlk5 in the mouse epidermis. Using the modified promoter of human involucrin, transgenic mice expressing the fluorescent marker, tdTomato, were generated in the first step. This transgenic reporter mouse showed specific targeting pattern of the reporter in the upper epidermal layers and, thus, the modified involucrin promoter could be employed for targeting further gene of interest in the differentiated epidermal compartment. In the second step transgenic mouse lines expressing murine kallikrein 5 were successfully generated. Among them two lines exhibited approximately 6-9 fold overexpression at the mRNA and protein levels, however it appeared that the immature protease was not activated under normal healthy conditions. Therefore two models of epidermal...

Unprofessional film-making and copyright law
Vitinger, Aleš ; Horný, Stanislav (advisor) ; Krsek, Libor (referee)
Main goal of this work was to map the area of copyright law connected with nonprofessional film-making. Due to fast expansion of the internet and digital media, the number of non-professional film-makers is increasing rapidly. And copyright law is not able to react on this change. Temporary Czech copyright law is strongly developed, with strong position of colective administrators of copyrights. For non-professional use is this situation quite unsuitable. Copyright laws are too strict and complicated and collective administrators are focused on professional use. The result is massive infringement of copyright laws. One of the answers is the Creative Commons iniciative, which proposed few licenses, based od copyright laws. These licenses can be published along with the artwork to encourage potential user to use the work without asking permission. Author can choose what rights would be limited, for example commercial use, or making derivative works. This bachelors work proves that Creative Commons licenses are good choice for non-professional film-maker. They bring simplicity and null costs, in comparison with complicated and expensive licensing from collectively administrated rights.
