Michl, Pavel ; Ježek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Brabec, Petr (referee)
The thesis is focused on relationship between income inequality and religiosity. Results of the analysis confirm correlation between income inequality and religiosity, however, causality of this relationship remains unclear. This relationship is established in the context of the theory of secularization, specifically in the new version -- the theory of existential insecurity. Analysis confirms this theory and is based on several sociological researches with a broad sample of countries and with several variables of religiosity separated into two groups (variables of religious participation and variables of personal faith), which is the main contribution of the analysis. Besides that, the thesis presents other explanations of the relationship between income inequality and religiosity. These theories are based on differences in preferences of religious and nonreligious individuals. The thesis also confirms ongoing secularization in the most countries of the world in last 20-30 years.

Jebavá, Jaroslava ; Novotná, Yvona (advisor) ; Druláková, Radka (referee)
Islam has been increasingly discussed in the European Union, not only in connection with events worldwide, but also in relation to internal affairs of particular Member States, as Islam has become a permanent part of European religious landscape. Large European muslim minorities are no more an exclusive issue of particular countries which are facing them. Due to the deepening European integration and the current transnational tendencies of the European Islam, these minorities have become a common interest of all Member States, as well as of the EU itself. Nevertheless, a significant number of questions and the main responsibility for their solution still rest upon the individual states. This thesis focuses on the analysis of the position of Islam in France, which is the country with the largest muslim minority within the EU. It describes the specific approach of France towards its minorities and religions, the conditions the country imposes on them, and analyzes the process and the current level of integration of the French Muslims. The case study of the situation in France shows the possibilities of the integration of Muslims into the European society, points out to the factors which can influence it and hereby also to the acceptability of Islam in the EU.

Šupita, Michal ; Stuchlíková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Pavlík, Petr (referee)
This paper is focused on the quantitative analysis of the role of the faith-based organisations (FBOs) in development cooperation. The aim of this work is to determine to what extent do selected FBOs cooperate with government donors in development cooperation. The role of FBOs in development was so far neglected topic in Czech academic literature and this work thus fills to some extent this gap. In this work I characterise selected organizations based on their income, country of origin and religion, on which the organization is based. Then I gradually investigate to what extent do selected FBOs involve in European development cooperation, to what extent are selected FBOs publicly funded and finally compare the structure of revenues of selected FBOs with the revenues of secular nonprofit organizations.
