Space and architecture photographers
Uhlíková, Jarmila ; Grygar, Štěpán (advisor) ; Silverio, Robert (referee)
The theses discuss the issue of photographing a specific place which is closely related to the spaces of all kinds and to architecture. It is limited to the so called ?no name architecture? that does not have a known author ? mainly common houses and utility buildings but also specific places in the countryside or in a city such as gardens or parking lots. The emphasis is on the connection between the space and its photographic representation. It is demonstrated in the work of particular authors. It explores the questions of making a photographic picture of a space, author´s choice and their influence on the result as well as the impression the particular photographs leave in their viewers. The main idea of this paper is to offer an overview of basic approaches to photographing places that have been used since the 60s of 20th century till present.

Money Laundering
Polakovič, Martin ; Zetek, Pavel (advisor)
Money laundering is a process, by which criminal organizations try to declare the origin of their income as legal. The process of laundering could be very sophisticated, but according to the fact that money come from illegal activities, process itself is illegal as well. I try to explain, outline and mention possible indicators and signs of such process. I analyze most frequent and common methods and describe possible ways of detection and restrictions. This problem appeared in the last century and was related to globalization, lessening of rules in international trading and new cheaper and faster ways of transportation. Money laundering is a "living" process, that still adapts to new situations and technologies.

Taxation of non-profit organizations with a focus on civic associations
Plasgurová Holá, Karolína ; Vondráčková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Novotný, Petr (referee)
Resume Establishment and development of NGOs in the 90's of the 20th century meant the development of the civic associations as an integral part of the nonprofit sector. Civic associations are associations of citizens to use common activities and interests. These activities can be sport, culture (theater), leisure time activities (Sudoku game) or any other leisure activity. The aim of my work hasn't been focusing on the appearance and disappearance of civic associations, but my job was to describe the basic tax obligations. Tax obligations of civic associations are derived depending on what specific activities the association is engaged. Regardless, civic associations are always tax payers of tax on corporate income (income tax of legal person). This obligation arises from the registration of civic associations on the Ministry of Interior and from any operation. The tax applies to entities based in the Czech Republic. Incomes are taxed from the resources of the Czech Republic and abroad. For sources from abroad is necessary to follow the tax laws and tax liability abroad. Foreign incomes are affected by agreements for the avoidance of double taxation. Not all income is subject to income tax of legal person, if it is labeled as income, may be exempt from the law. These incomes can be divided into income...

Roman Lamps From Cemeteries in Gerulata (Rusoviec)
Frecer, Robert ; Musil, Jiří (advisor) ; Ondřejová, Iva (referee)
This catalogue documents Roman lamps from the cemeteries of Gerulata (modern-day Rusovce). It consists of 16 Bildlapmen, 89 Firmalampen, and one special shape. These lamps were found mainly in two large cemeteries, in both cremation and inhumation graves, dated from the last decades of the 1 st century AD to the dawn of the 3rd century. Of the Bildlampen, several lamps with angular voluted nozzles (Loeschcke type I) and one fragment of a circular lamp with a rounded nozzle (Loeschcke type VIII) are represented. Of the Firmalampen, both Loeschcke types IX and X are found, type X and its variations being the most numerous (67 lamps). The iconography of relief decorations shows a range of mythological and profane images. Twenty different makers' stamps in relief are found, two without parallels, with Fortis as most common. The production, transport and copying of Firmalampen is described; resulting endeavors to locate their point of origin are determined to be often unreliable without chemical analysis. Both the relationship of lamps to other grave goods as well as their purpose in graves are assessed; lamps are found to have been an available luxury, as appropriate in a Romanized society. Most lamps had worn bases, and some had blackened wickholes; most are burned by their inclusion in the funeral pyre. The...

Features of the gothic novel and Southern Ontario gothic in the works of Robertson Davies
Kyselová, Mariana ; Nováková, Soňa (advisor) ; Kolinská, Klára (referee)
The gothic novel, albeit not considered high literature, counts among the most distinctive literary genres. The literary form was at its prime in late 18th century, although its days of glory have past elements of the Gothic can be found even in contemporary literature. Over the centuries, several sub-genres of the gothic novel have developed, including Southern Ontario Gothic. This branch of the Gothic is characterized by criticism of social attitudes towards race, politics, gender and religion specific for that region, in combination with elements of the supernatural, magic realism and satire. Robertson Davies, whose novels belong to the most significant works of Southern Ontario Gothic, is considered to be a Canadian literature classic. The aim of this paper is to compare the elements of a classical gothic novel with the elements of Southern Ontario Gothic in Robertson Davies' TheDeptford Trilogy. The initial chapter covers the theoretical background to the problematic of the Gothic and defines the commonly used terminology. The term "gothic" is used in many contexts and fields, and therefore can carry various meanings. The chapter also introduces Southern Ontario Gothic as an acknowledged sub-genre. In the second chapter, some common themes that occur in Canadian culture are introduced....

Veverková, Zuzana ; Beneš, Ladislav (advisor) ; Filipi, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor work is focused on development of choral music in Christian communities. It provides the reader with a perspective on its' evolution in different time periods from The Old Testament period through intertestamental period, New Testament, Early Church and historical development from the sixth century through reformation to the twentieth century, where it either focuses on individual contributors to music development (that is musical composers, kings etc.) or conservation of specific artifacts (files, records and writings). This development is then taken into account when evaluating position of music in these time periods and it mentions the occurrence of changes. Next, the paper is interested in the roles of Church and choirs and in fulfillment of these roles. Finally it presents common problems when building a church music program and tries to provide the reader with some solutions to rid of those problems and use an entire potential of music programs that they offer. It also focuses on the presence of choral music and faith in the mentioned time periods and gives supporting evidence on the produced hypotheses with the help of used literature. Faith and its' connection to choral music is a protagonist of this work and is given a fair amount of attention in regard to either development...

The Megalithic Architecture of the Balearic Islands
Kordová, Ema ; Bouzek, Jan (advisor) ; Titz, Pavel (referee)
Talayotic architecture arose on The Balearic Islands at the end of second millennium as a syntesis of local megalithic culture of Bronze Age and cultural influence from central Mediterraen Sea, mainly from Sardinia and Corsica. The core of talayotic buildings was a naveta and megalithic tombs, whose using was abandoned just at the beginning of Iron Age. The talayotic architecture developed on particular way in the manner of the insular cultures of occidental Mediterranean Sea until the Phoenicians arrived; at the same time the construction of talayots declined. On the other hand the sanctuaries and taulas became common. Approximately in the 6th century in post-talayotic period megalithic culture disappeared definitely. The last talayotic site was destroyed during Roman colonization.

Egyptian Mawlids in the Context of Contemporary Sufi Spirituality
Ostřanský, Bronislav
Mawlids – as many-sided religious and social phenomenon – have a long and uninterrupted tradition within Islam. Since uncertain beginnings which can be traced back to the 13th or 14th centuries until the present times their participants have been put together by the identical common motive – the will to express their respect, devoutness and loyalty to a certain saint (walī). Using the popular Muslim parable describing the pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj), we might to state that ways and manners of wandering are different, but the Aim is just one. On the example of these religious celebrations we can clearly illustrate to what a degree Islamic mysticism and Muslim folk religiosity are closely interwoven until it is quite impossible study both of them separately (!). In general, celebrations of mawlids connect both religious and profane aspects and up to the present day belong to the most significant sources for our study of the contemporary popular Muslim (not only Egyptian) religiosity.
