A comparison of copyright protection of authors and performing artists
Martinka, Marek ; Křesťanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
A comparison of copyright protection of authors and performing artists The aim of this thesis is to compare the legal regulation of the authors' rights in their works and the performing artists' rights in their performances as it arises from the Czech Copyright Act. I have chosen this topic because it requires profound study of the Copyright Act, good understanding of most of its provisions and their analysis. In my opinion, this kind of research could be very useful in my upcoming profession. Besides it seems to be quiet an actual theme, as for example the term of protection of these rights is largely discussed of late. The structure of this paper is following. The first three chapters are introducing the main characteristics of the authors' and performing artists' rights, their development and the main sources. Other chapters are dealing with the comparison of the protection itself. I examine the aspects I consider to be crucial. It is the subject of the rights, the object, moral and economic rights, the criterions of the protection, the contractual and non-contractual obligations and the term of protection. Two final chapters are focused on the collective management and the infringement of copyright. It can be concluded that the protection of the performing artists' rights is a bit weaker. It is...

Life quality of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis
OHÁŇKOVÁ, Jana
A multiple cerebrospinal sclerosis is one of the most frequent neurologic diseases affecting individuals in the productive age, more often women. The thesis aims to describe the life quality of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. To detect whether due to the multiple sclerosis the qualities of life change. If this would be the case then the goal is to reveal which aspects the changes affect. Another objective was to establish whether the life quality of multiple sclerosis patients decreases depending on the period of time since the diagnosis was made, that is on the duration of the disease. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to describing the disease in general, signs, symptoms, prognosis, and treatment. I also deal with defining the term of life quality and its clarification, I also discuss the social-legal problems of the disease. The practical part of the thesis implements both qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method included a semi-standardized interview. The quantitative method incorporated interrogative research using a SF-36 questionnaire about the quality of life conditioned by health. The information detected from the semi-standardized interview (the qualitative part) served as the basis for defining hypotheses for the quantitative part of the thesis. The following hypotheses were defined: H1: ``The quality of life in patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis is lower than in the general population" and H2: "The quality of life in multiple sclerosis carriers decreases in correlation to the period of time since the diagnosis was made, that is on the duration of the disease.{\crqq} Chapter ``Results{\crqq} contains the established information.

Tomčalová, Lenka ; Štefko, Martin (advisor) ; Steinichová, Ladislava (referee)
The topic of this thesis is "Unemployment benefit and its legal regulations in the Czech Republic and abroad - comparison of the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany." Taking into account that the problem of unemployment is very complex and cannot be viewed apart, this thesis attempts to analyse this problem from different perspectives. In the first chapter the essential terms are explained in detail for the sake of better comprehension of the whole matters. A different section of the thesis is also devoted to a brief description of the impact of unemployment not only on single individual, but also on the society as a unit. Another part of this work is conceived as a cross - section of how the unemployment security was solved in a light of various historical events and related attitudes and circumstances in the past. The mayor emphasis has been placed on the key period of 1918 - 1989. Considerable part of this work is given to the topic of employment policy and its instruments. Considering the fact the thesis seeks to bring the most possible complex view of the issue of unemployment benefit, could not be leaved out the explanation of the key concepts such as right to work and right to employment. The main part of the thesis is focused on the dilemma of recruitment by both employment...

Havlínová, Jana ; Randák, Jan (referee) ; Kvaček, Robert (advisor)
In my paper "Czechoslovakia and the Nuremberg Trials (the Nuremberg Trials in the Czechoslovak press)" I deal with a formation of the "International Military Tribunal" which was to judge main war criminals who had unleashed the Second World War. It was necessary to inject a new type of criminal responsibility and appoint the criminals. Finally the curt sat for the first time on 20th November 1945. Twenty two war criminals and seven German organizations there accused of four counts of an indictment - conspiracy, crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity. The huge asset for the Nuremberg Trials had the Czechoslovak delegacy too, because it shared in a formulation of the indictment. The Czechoslovak representatives put a lot of evidence, depositions and documents in the publication called "The Germen crimes against Czechoslovakia". The asset of the lawsuit for the world and Czechoslovakia consists in bringing a warning and edification for the future generations. Furthermore, it laid the principles of the new international legal order and made human life significant again. The trials had a special asset for Czechoslovakia as it confirmed the displacement of the German inhabitants from the Czechoslovak borderland. The Nuremberg Trials was a big press event. The news of the local correspondents...

Position of people with disabilities in labour market
