The study of the potential importance of pravastatin in the prevention of the cholestatic liver impairment
Karlasová, Gabriela ; Mičuda, Stanislav (advisor) ; Slanař, Ondřej (referee) ; Večeřa, Rostislav (referee)
The study of the potential importance of pravastatin in the prevention of the cholestatic liver impairment. Obstructive cholestasis is a clinical syndrome accompanying numerous liver diseases. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of obstructive jaundice is very important because untreated condition leads to irreparable changes in the liver. This gives rise to liver fibrosis, which later passes into biliary cirrhosis with all its consequences (portal hypertension, esophageal varices, liver failure). The causal therapy such as surgical removal of the obstruction is quite often impossible. Therefore it is necessary to search for pharmacotherapeutic approaches that can positively modulate the developing disease. In the present thesis, the effect of pravastatin on the liver damage during chronic obstructive cholestasis was investigated in rats. Pravastatin, belonging to a group of widely used inhibitors of HMG-CoA reductase, possesses not only lipid-lowering action but also anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, so called pleiotropic effects. The decisive fact for choosing pravastatin as a suitable substance for our study was that pravastatin has already shown positive effects in several patients with cholestasis and its hydrophilic nature does not require metabolism in impaired liver and allows...

Silné důkazové systémy
Mikle-Barát, Ondrej ; Krajíček, Jan (advisor) ; Pudlák, Pavel (referee)
R-OBDD is a new Cook-Reckhow propositional proof system based on combination of OBDD proof system and resolution proof system. R-OBDD has the strength of OBDD proof system - hard tautologies for resolution like PHPn or Tseitin contradictions have polynomially sized proofs in R-OBDD (R-OBDD p-simulates OBDD proof system as well as resolution). On the other hand, inference rules of R-OBDD are designed to be similar to inference rules of resolution, thus allowing to create a modified version of DPLL algorithm and possibly using heuristics used in various DPLL-like algorithms. This gives a possibility for a SAT solver more efficient than SAT solvers based on resolution proof system. We present design of a SAT solver, which is an adaptation of DPLL algorithm for the R-OBDD proof system. The algorithm is accompanied with proof of its correctness and we show that the run of the algorithm on an unsatisfiable formula can be transformed into tree-like refutation in the R-OBDD proof system.

Parliamentary immunity in the Czech political system
Jareš, Jakub ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Wintr, Jan (referee)
The thesis "Parliamentary Immunity in the Czech Political System" examines the history of parliamentary immunity in the Czech lands from 1848 until today. Primarily, it focuses on allowing prosecutions of deputies and senators and the attempts to reduce immunity in the Czech Republic after 1993. The thesis looks in detail at the provisions on immunity in the constitutions which were in force in the Czech lands after 1848; it also gives an overview of the cases of allowing deputy prosecutions during 1918-1938 and under the communist rule (1948-1989). In addition, the thesis includes chapters on the origin and legal implementation of parliamentary immunity, on its broad definition and on the immunity provisions in the constitutions of other countries.

Fyzikální modelování dynamiky peněz ve směnné ekonomice
Švarcbach, Jan ; Slanina, František (advisor) ; Kotrla, Miroslav (referee)
The presented diploma thesis belongs to the interdisciplinary area called econophysics. In this work we try to model the transition from simple barter trade to commodity money which was the forerunner of today's bank-notes. For the description of such a transition we use microscopic structure of interacting agents which can give rise to measurable macroeconomic quantities. We show that the emergence of commodity money is possible as a result of the cooperative behaviour of individual traders. We observe several statistical features of the process of money emergence and its duration and we modify the model in such a way that it would be as general as possible and allow us to measure other observable quantities. We supplement the computer simulations with analytical approach in which we use the mean field theory and the theory of a representative agent. Using the methods of statistical physics we calculate equilibrium for the case of the homegeneous distribution of commodities in representative agent's portfolio.

Healthy Cities Project
HLUŠKOVÁ, Marie
Human life and maintainable advancement are still more combined and discusseable. Thus in this days much more attention is beeing concerntrated at the project titled as Healthy town.Under this title one can imagine a lot of its meanings.Someone might take it as injuries, others as clean parks, whereby the kids could play without any concern. As you notice, everyone under the title Healthy town is taking it differently, but altogerther it gives the same meaning as Healthy town. I have choosen this theme for its actuallity. This project Healthy town is completely dealing with the problems of the inhabitants, but does not forget for theire responsibilities and allows an active dialog amongst them and its leadership of the town.We should not forget, that healthy towns have got well worked out methods of public administration, which is well valued by the EU.This fact helps in requirements for grants from EU which is a privilege for healthy towns, which is the reality of today. In the theoritical part of the corrent state I have hilghlited the basic information of the WHO and its communual project Healthy town, which I have aquired through out my studies from special literatures, internet references, magayines, which I have listed in the used sources. In the practical part of the research I have added the information of the findings, which I have aquired wiith the help of my own findings.Initially I have conducted the secondary data analysis, which I have obtained from the database of the national net of healthy towns in CZ, Association of healthy towns in SR,of the Czech statistical office and Slovakian statistical office. Since the project Healthy town is part of the communal project is partially formed induvidually. As a result of this I have refered in the practical part of this work two case studyies of healthy towns, which serves as an exemplary of this project.

The imposition of the sentence pursue the protection of the society from the offenders and to prevent the convicted from continuation in criminal activity as well as to bring him up to live impeccably. It performs repressive and preventive function, and operates educationally on other members of society. For the general preventive action of the sentence, it is important if the society sees the sentence as fair, reasonable and most inevitable. 69 Short-term prison senteces are often topics for discussion. According to some views on sentence performance it does not adequately deterrent effects on the society and in terms of action on the perpetrators it does not give enough time for social rehabilitation which would be able to reeducate them but...

The development of feminist criticism of Charlotte Brontë's novel Jane Eyre: the unusual romance by the Parson's daughter that sparked the literary rebellion
Ondrušková, Andrea ; Beran, Zdeněk (referee) ; Nováková, Soňa (advisor)
In 1847, when Charlotte Brontë was writing Jane Eyre in Haworth parsonage and secretly dreaming of her literary career, not even in her wildest dreams could she have imagined what a life and what a variety of meanings female critics would once give to her first novel, and that one day she would be even studied as one of the female writers who helped to spark the women's literary rebellion and her Jane Eyre would be celebrated as a feminist classic. After all, this is what the fascinating story of this unusual romance has turned out to be. As my thesis has revealed, ever since its publication Jane Eyre has always drawn the attention of female critics. The first woman whose opinion about the novel was publicly heard was the Victorian reviewer Elisabeth Rigby. Interestingly, unlike female critics who came after her, she was not delighted by the appearance of this novel but on the contrary, she felt fully alarmed by it. She condemned it on both moral and religious grounds, disliking Jane's rebellion against the established order, as well as her sympathy towards the poor and the oppressed. Her opinion was nothing unusual concerning the fact that she was both a member of the upper class and a conservative. Yet, what was rather astounding was that as a woman allowed to write, she questioned the propriety of female...

The possibility of direct ODF/OOXML format processing in XSLT
Sem, Štěpán ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Nálevka, Petr (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to allow to work with XML document archives and related data directly by the help of XML tools, e.g. XSLT processors. It is particularly about ODF and OOXML format processing. The whole archive will be represented by only one XML document, which will directly include XML documents from the inside of the archive and base64 encoded binary data eventually. The representation will be created by the parser implemented in Java programming language. The first chapter describes an example of how the data can be stored inside the archive. It is necessary to realize, that after the archive decompression, we will get mainly XML documents, in which the prevailing part of the document's content is stored and that we can therefore directly process. First of all in the second chapter, we will describe various parser interfaces, which allow to work with the XML documents more easily. This information is closely related to the main scope of the thesis - parser implementation. After the brief identification with the existing possibilities of document processing, we will demonstrate the solution in the application using a concrete interface implementing parser on an accompanying example and we will give reasons for the solution chosen in this thesis. The third chapter analyses possibilities of an ZIP archive representation as an XML file and selection of the most suitable one for this application. We will also mention the possible solutions of situations, when the document contains links to another documents. The aim of the fourth chapter is to briefly construe the Java provided facilities, which relate to the solution itself, and to describe the concrete solution to the problem. The fifth chapter aims to demonstrate the usage of the created application.
