Assesment of radiation protection in DIAMO state enterprise
ŠIMÁČKOVÁ, Eva
The importance of possible consequences of radiation, possible health hazard of people and the radionuclide contamination of the environment requires securing radiation protection from the very start of any operation, where radioactive substances are being handled with. One of these fields is the uranium industry in which DIAMO, state enterprise, takes an important position, dealing with the extraction and treatment of uranium, effacing the impacts of mining, remediation and disposal. Findings in the field of uranium industry are primarily won in form of research of professional information sources. In the theoretical part of the work, historical data about the founding and development of the organisation DIAMO, state enterprise, about carried out operations and the affect on the environment are being listed. Furthermore, information concerning radiation protection, its history, principles and measures are being elaborated. On the basis of carried out analysis and gauging results the level of secured radiation protection in DIAMO, state enterprise, is being assessed. Comparing the analysis of currently valid legal regulations to the analysis of safety documentation worked out in DIAMO, state enterprise, the fulfilment of requirements of legal standards is being assessed. In areas affected with uranium industry (Příbram, Stráž pod Ralskem, Mydlovary) gauging the dose equivalent power consupmtion of gama radiation has been carried out. In selected sites water and soil samples have been taken to assess the concentration of radionuclides. The results of the research are being compared to the measuremet results from other sources. In conclusion it is possible to state that the results in the carried out research are comparable to the results of similar researches carried out in other countries.
Iinfrared thermography and handheld ultrasound doppler during exercise test
Urbanová, Lucia ; Vlk, Daniel (referee) ; Staffa,, Erik (advisor)
Semester project elaborates theoretical part of bachelor thesis, which is going to process results of measurements performed by infrared thermography and Doppler ultrasonography during physical tests on volunteers. The theoretical part contains basics of infrared thermography, where physical quantities, laws and principles are explained. The basic of Doppler ultrasonography are explained as well. In practical part will be statistically analyzed data measured by a thermal imager and Doppler ultrasonography. Study group of people will form students aged from 18 to 25 years. Thermographic and Doppler measurements will be performed before exercise and after exercise. The aim is to find a correlation between processed data.
Non-contact temperature measurement
Sládek, Vojtěch ; Minář, Petr (referee) ; Hermanský, Dominik (advisor)
The aim of the thesis was the study of non-contact temperature measurement and the use of this measurement in the field of production machines. The first part of thesis includes concepts and definitions that are necessary for familiarization with the issue. In the second, practical part, contact and non-contact measurements were compared in two experiments. In the first one the machine frame was measured, on which the thermal load was simulated, the emission was determined, which was compared with emissivity from the tables. In the second experiment, the temperature gradient of the ball screw was measured during the ball screw operation and was determined emissivity, which was again compared with the table values. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes advantages and disadvantages of non-contact measurements that have been verified in practice.
Presentation of particle detectors for public
Knot, Josef ; Doležal, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Dolejší, Jiří (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with particle detectors and their use. In the introduction the reader becomes familiar with concepts of radioactivity and radiation. Next part tells the reader how nuclear radiation penetrates through matter and how this is used for particle detection. Next part presents utilizing radiation in nuclear medicine and medical imaging. The main part of this work concentrates on the design and preparation of an original high school experiment. Here the aim of this experiment is described and its design and implementation is documented. Last part brings the description of technical solutions used, steering computer program developed for this experiment and results of tests.
The effects of irradiation on plant photomorphogenesis in highschool biological education
Sedlecký, Libor ; Albrechtová, Jana (advisor) ; Pavlová, Libuše (referee)
Light does not serve plants only as a source of energy, but it mediates the information about the environmental conditions and brings signal information for developmental processes taking place in plants. Radiation within the whole spectrum range can be produced by a natural source, or an artificial source. Radiation is percived by a plant due to the whole range of receptors, known as photoreceptors - receptor molecules. Because of photoreceptors plant is able to adapt to its enviromnent and to adjust its metabolism to be as effective as possible. In photomorphogenetic reactions a plant responds mostly to red, blue and partly ultraviolet part of electromagnetic spectrum. For the red radiation there is only one receptor - phytochrome, existing in two various conformations and in several species. Phytochrome is one of the most studied photoreceptors. Blue visible light and partly also ultraviolet radiation is therefore percieved through cryptochromes, which were resistant to research for a long time. In photomorfogenesis there is an enormous difference in plant reactions to light and dark condition. Very different response is observed in various radiation conditions and different physiological events are triggerred and take place. One of the main reactions occurring during change from dark to light...
The effect of operating position of the light source on the photometric parameters
Šťastný, Jakub ; Štěpánek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Škoda, Jan (advisor)
The theses discusses how operating position and ambient temperature affect electric light sources. For the purposes of this theses, the analysis of light radiation, the description and the principle of taking measurements of light quantities are included. The work also contains the principle of function, construction and parameters of light sources. For each light source a hypothesized impact of the operating position of the light source and the impact of ambient temperature variation on radiated luminous flux are stated. For selected light sources a measurement of the impact of the operating position on the sources’ photometric parameters was taken. The output measurement data are being compared to the theoretical hypotheses. The conclusion of the thesis describes suggested recommendations for the operation of light sources based on both theoretical and practical parts of the thesis.
System level analysis of thermal properties of integrated circuits

Analysis and assessment of risks in the construction of the shielding structures of medical irradiators.
Henzelová, Iveta ; Vymazal, Tomáš (referee) ; Hobst, Leonard (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the analysis and evaluation of the potential risks in the design and implementation of shielding structures against the effects of ionizing radiation. The rocedure of calculation and design optimization, according to the current wording of the Atomic Act and related regulations, is mentioned only marginally. According to DIN EN 31010: 2011 Risk Management - Risk Assessment Technique risk assessment were made by risk analysis. risk analysis. Risk management identified these methods - Analysis of the Causes and Consequences (Ishikawa diagram), Analysis Failure Mode and Effects (FMEA) and the Pareto diagram. These methods are implemented to identify and evaluate the associated risks. Based on the identification and assessment of these risks, appropriate measures are then proposed to reduce their impact.
