Thick-film sensors for heavy metals detection
Polický, Jiří ; Adámek, Martin (referee) ; Prášek, Jan (advisor)
This work covers an area of heavy metals detection using thick-film sensors. Fabrication of screen-printed thick-film sensor and electrochemical analytical methods for detection of chemical elements in aqueous solutions are described in this work. Several commercial and own prepared thick-film pastes were used for carbon based working electrodes. The electrochemical properties of the pastes were examined by cadmium ions detection in potassium chloride solution using differential pulse voltammetry. The best results were achieved on the electrode made of direct grown carbon nanotubes on the electrode layer NM22. A detection limit 20×10-6 mol l-1.was reached with this working electrode material during oxidation process.

Utilization of thermal systems at power electrical engineering
Strnad, Karel ; Janda, Marcel (referee) ; Kuchyňková, Hana (advisor)
The main theme of the master's thesis is using of thermal camera to measure temperatures in electrical engineering. First are mentioned the physical principles of heat transfer. Then the thesis deals with methods of determining the correct emissivity of the measured object and in the next point with sensors designed for sensing infrared radiation, there is also part dedicated to evaluation software Report Sat Standard, which was used to evaluate the pictures taken with thermal camera SAT-HY 6800. Next part of this work is the measurement of the DC and EC motor with help of thermocamera, which took place in the electric company ATAS Nachod. Attachment to this master's thesis there is animation of EC motor created in Autodesk Inventor.
Boundary Nodes Detection in Wireless Sensor Networks
Bocek, Jan ; Vajsar, Pavel (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Theoretical part of thesis describes several known algorithms and new approaches for the bourder node detection in a wireless sensor networks. The new algorithm BRB was inspired by failures of previous algorithms and its major supporting idea is select several neighboring points (B, C). Approach algorithm BRB is a decentralized detection of nodes located at the perimeter. The practical part compares several algorithm with the new BRB algorithm. Quantity of successful and false detection of boundary nodes was evaluated in ideal and real environment. The simulation results shown, that the proposed algorithm is effective solution for accurate border node detection in wireless sensor networks.
Optical Proximity Sensor with Time-of-Flight Measuring Principle
Mlatecová, Hana ; Kopečný, Lukáš (referee) ; Žalud, Luděk (advisor)
3D optical proximity scanner is described in this thesis. The sensor is marked as 03D201 and is made by Ifm electronic, GmbH company. The text also describes the basic characteristics, measuring principle, PC connection method and communication. A program for communication between PC and sensor was created and named O3D_Application. This program provides functions for real-time data transfer and visualization. Measured data can be saved easily by this program. The thesis also contains an analysis of measured data and parasitic parameters of the sensor.
Carbon nanotubes utilization for fabrication of thick-film sensors electrodes
Polický, Jiří ; Adámek, Martin (referee) ; Prášek, Jan (advisor)
This work covers an area of heavy metals detection by miniaturized thick film sensors. Working electrode of these sensors was fabricated using thick film paste that was prepared as a nanocomposition of carbon nanotubes powder, suitable vehicle and a thinner. The response of fabricated electrodes to cadmium and lead ions was measured using differential pulse voltammetry in an acetate buffer solution using a three electrode sytem. The results were compared with the carbon electrode made from special commercial thick film polymer paste. Finally the possibility of working electrode surface activation with nitric acid and heavy metals on real biological sample detection is described here.
Contactless measuring ventilator-revolution counter
Pokorný, Aleš ; Trmač, Jiří (referee) ; Michálek, Václav (advisor)
This project is about design of contactless measuring ventilator - revolution counter. The counter serves to measurement of the speed of ventilator. The measurement is based on optical method of receiving the reflected laser beam. To measure and calculate use the revolution counter the microcontroller. This measured value is diplayed on LCD. After design follows experimental measurement.
Laboratory exercises using the LabView measuring system
Labaj, Radek ; Kohoutek, Michal (referee) ; Rampl, Ivan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis discusses basic types of mechanical value sensors, namely the Induction position sensor type LVDT. Its properties and the principle of operation are explained on the laboratory preparation. It contains a proposal and elaboration of laboratory exercises using LabVIEW development programming environment and laboratory preparation.
Modeling of thermodynamic sensors
Psota, Boleslav ; Buršík, Martin (referee) ; Řezníček, Michal (advisor)
This work deals with behavior of the temperature dependent element that makes a part of thermodynamics system. The aim of this work is to analyze the behavior of that element and to solve the virtual model in PC program ANSYS.
Local Navigation for Outdoor Robot
Skácel, Martin ; Veselý, Miloš (referee) ; Žalud, Luděk (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with complete designing and implementation of local navigation of a robot which travels according to set GPS. This work contains a study of contemporary used principles of the sensors which can be used as the components of the robot. There are sensors for measuring the surroundings of the robot and orientation of the robot in the environs. The equipment includes an instructing control unit with the ATmega8 microcontroller. This equipment collects data from the sensors and transfers them to the other systems of the robot. The following part of the thesis deals with the draft of the buses and communication protocols, which are necessary for connection between the sensors and the control unit. The I2C and RS232 buses were chosen as the most suitable. The communication protocol was borrowed from the semester project written by Bc. Michal Sitta. The main task of this control unit is reading out the data which have been measured from connected sensors. The realization of interface between the sensor bus and the major system is another core goal of the control unit. The system for a local navigation is designed with the approach which allows the widest range of extensibility. During the designing of the control unit the future possibility of insertion other sensors was taken into consideration.
