Description and comparison of pectoral girdle muscular system in selected frog species
KUTÍLKOVÁ, Pavla
In my thesis I was concerned with pectoral girdle muscular system in selected frog species, especially with the muscles of ventral side, which probably play a crucial role in frog jumping abilities (mainly in landing phase). I find out a lot of differences between particular species and I mean that some of those differences are straightly connected with jumping movements.

Body mass changes during breeding in birds
Drekslerová, Šárka ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Klvaňa, Petr (referee)
Body mass is one of the criteria estimating individual's body condition and predicates an ability to cope with environmental conditions. To maintain the body condition the individual needs energy supply. In my essay I am concerned with life-history strategies of birds through the adjustment with increased energy demands during incubation period and with changes in body mass relating with these strategies. The individual can cover energy requirements directly from food ("income breeder") or make an energy storage in advance and draw the energy later during breeding ("capital breeder"). According to the type of breeding environment, access of strategy evolves and how changes its body mass in consequence of the elected strategy. Income breeding occur in small birds in good predictable environment with high food abundance and it is characterized by varying body mass changes. In contrast, capital breeding occur in hardly predictable environments or in cold areas with low food abu ndance and it is characterized by linear mass loss. Body mass has a great influence on breeding success. Female make a decision to breed or not based on her body condition. Breeding with female bad body conditon incerases a risk of abandoning the nest and nest failure. Another important factors are e.g. the weather, age of breeding...

The prototype public speaker according to contemporary media standards and usage (based on public speaking manuals)
Žáková, Denisa ; Kartous, Bohumil (referee) ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor)
Thesis "The prototype public speaker according to contemporary media standards and usage (based on public speaking manuals) deals with changes in the functions of rhetoric in contemporary society. The work should bring an idea of the qualities and abilities, which a good public speaker should have. The introductory parts of the thesis introduce recent studies, which paid a special attention to spoken Czech in media and these chapters also focuse on the results of opinion polls. The thesis also deals with the style of the manuals of rhetoric and draws attention to the specifics of these manuals and their communication strategies. The structure of other parts of the work follows the structure of the textbooks of rhetoric, which was already used by ancient theorists and teachers of rhetoric. The thesis gradually covers the phases of the speech, from the choice of the theme to the elocution. The sixth phase of the speech called Listening is added. Contemporary authors of the handbooks are aware that public speaking is not only monologue of one speaker, but the audience participates in it.

Operation Artemis and the ability of EU to interfere in global conflicts
Holý, Daniel ; Fireš, Adam (advisor) ; Eichler, Jan (referee)
This thesis is about operation Artemis in the Democratic Republic of Congo and about the ability of EU to interfere in similar operations in future. For sake of continuity and to better communicate the theme, the thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part the historical background of the conflict is described (from the nineties to the start up of the operation Artemis). In the second part there is an analysis of the operation Artemis itself -- its military and humanitarian factors and its results. The third part of the thesis discusses the development of Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and its development regarding the consequences of operation Artemis as the first out-of-the-area military mission of the EU. Views of experts on the operation and its importance for the forming of European Security and Defence Policy are also proposed.

HTN planning for project IVE
Holeček, Ondřej ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Plch, Tomáš (referee)
IVE is an ambitious project whose main effort was to create a highly scalable architecture to allow discrete simulation of large-scale virtual world full of virtual beings and their virtual lives. Part of the project is an implementation of reactive virtual beings fully driven by their environment. In this work I try to extend this reactive intelligence by ability to plan in advance actions and their specific execution order to successfully accomplish its tasks. I am trying to achieve this by attaching external HTN planning system, implementing automatic world representation translation and mutual interaction between IVE framework and planning subsystem. Along with planning I add not only ability to plan ones individual tasks, but also more complex planning of cooperation of multiple beings on common goals, which may be somewhat difficult using only reactive control.

Current state and perspectives on taxation of motor vehicles in the EU
John, Jiří ; Láchová, Lenka (advisor) ; Teklý, Lukáš (referee)
Bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of taxation of motor vehicles in the EU. Taxation of motor vehicles is harmonized these days on the grounds of elimination of market failures and motivation of customers to buy environmentally friendly cars. Work consists of 3 main parts. The first part describes the concepts of tax competition, coordination and harmonization. Furthermore, this section deals with the steps the EU, leading to a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and their impact on the taxation of motor vehicles. The second part focuses on the taxation of motor vehicles used in selected member countries of the European Union. These countries tax cars based on emissions of carbon dioxide. In the third part of the paper is described the current state of taxation of motor vehicles in the Czech Republic. This section also deals with the future taxation of motor vehicles.

Azaphthalocyanines as new structural group of fluorescence quencher.
Kopecký, Kamil ; Doležal, Martin (advisor) ; Lang, Kamil (referee) ; Pour, Milan (referee)
1 SUMMARY This dissertation thesis deals with searching of structurally new non-fluorescent quenchers of fluorescence, which may be used for preparation of molecular probes. These potential quenchers are derived from asymmetrically substituted alkylaminoderivatives of tetrapyrazinoporphyrazines - azaphthalocyanines. As the part of this work is preparation of precursors - 5,6-disubstituted pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitriles. They are starting material for the preparation of final substances - tetrapyrazinoporphyrazines bearing different functional moieties. In total were prepared: 14 intermediates (3 of them have been described in our department) 13 final tetrapyrazinoporphyrazines (1 of them has been described in our department) 1 modified solid phase suitable for synthesis of marked oligonucleotides 2 by-products 23 undescribed compounds were prepared. Synthesis of 4 substances was not successful. Final products were tested for their singlet oxygen quantum yields, stability in solutions used for synthesis of oligonucleotides and subsequently ability of quenching of commercially available fluorofor Cy5® . This ability was compared with commercially available quencher Black Hole Quencher-2® . As a part of this work is confirmation of distribution of congeners arising during the statistical tetramerization of...

Diagnostics of Coordination Abilities in Football
Zoubek, Václav ; Štochl, Jan (advisor) ; Suchý, Jiří (referee)

Support of QoS in MANET networks
Figurny, Roman ; Mácha, Tomáš (referee) ; Vajsar, Pavel (advisor)
The theoretical part of Master's thesis has been dealing with issues of MANET networks, issues of providing quality of services in MANET networks and analysis of various implementations of quality of services in these networks. At the start of the practical part of this thesis was described modified OLSR process model with support of quality of services. In simulation program OPNET Modeler was designed a topology of MANET network, firstly was run a simulation of this network without any support of quality of services and then was run a simulation with support of quality of services. The results of these simulations were analyzed, compared and graphically interpreted. In the next part of this thesis was designed a real MANET network with OLSR support. OLSR network communication was captured with the use of Wireshark. In the last part of this thesis was firstly described a meaning and functions of plugins in OLSR implementation and then was developed a plugin which is responsible for sending messages which contain a state of the links between nodes of MANET networks.
