Conservation and possible uses of rock areas in the Czech Republic in tourism

This diploma thesis focuses on the conservation and possible uses of rock areas in the Czech Republic in tourism, specifically for climbing. The thesis delimits climbing as a type of tourism, which is researched from the various points of view, and the behaviour of its participants is characterised. The potential of the Czech Republic as a destination suitable for climbing tourism is described, as well as the impact of climbing to the animate nature, terrain and microrelief. The thesis also deals with the conservation of rock areas - informs about legislative requirements and other regulations of climbing, especially in protected areas. One chapter is also dedicated to the current trends in climbing, which limit the uses of climbing areas in a sustainable way. A survey carried out for the purpose of this thesis tries to reveal the relation of climbers to the protection of climbing areas. Finally, the thesis presents suggestions, how to use rock areas in compliance with a sustainable development of tourism.
Training and education in climbing

The work follows training and education in climbing. At first, the theoretic part introduce climbing like a unit and show its history and sections. Then follows education, climbing rules, ethics and nature protection. At last, there are present climbing informations, completed with theory, practise and methodology of climbing education. The practical part is focused on concrete dates gaining about training and education in clubs of Czech mountaineering association and confirming the truth of research hypotheses made according to the theoretic part. The work is generally aimed to introduce a process of training and education in climbing and give actual informations about it, prooved by research.
Evaluation of climbing routes in South Bohemia

The thesis is dealing with assessment and monitoring of South Bohemian climbing area Jickovice. It has two parts. First one is dealing with climbing itself, classification of climbing routes and the comparison with climbing in other countries. Second part is describing climbing area itself and it focuses on correct classification of all climbing routes in the area using method of evaluation and evaluating team. I have produced a complete list of all climbing routes with verbal a graphic description. My main job was to determine grades of all climbing routes in Jickovice area bearing in mind its utilization by all levels of sport climbers.

This bachelor thesis focuses on climbers and mountaineers as a segment of tourism market in the Czech Republic. Firstly, parcticular climbing and mountaineering disciplines are defined. Characterization of the climbing and mountaineering tourism according to various criteria follows. In the next part, current conditions and trends of this market segment are explained and the positions of service providers as well as buyers are clarified. The gained knowledge is complemented and specified by means of survey carried out among Czech climbers and mountaineers. In conclusion, market opportunities in this area are pointed out and related problems, their causes and possible solutions are described.
Zabezpečení kvality horolezecké výzbroje

Tato práce se zabývá posouzením bezpečnostních požadavků kladených na horolezecká lana a zhodnocením současných zkušebních metod při testování horolezeckých lan, vycházejících zejména z platné normy ČSN EN 892. Zároveň je záměrem upozornit na možná rizika, jež mohou vzniknout při běžném užívání, a zjistit, zda existují nové techniky v oblasti testování, které tato rizika zohledňují. Z důvodu pochopení funkce lana a horolezecké fyziky vůbec jsou po úvodní části nejprve vymezeny faktory, jež určují nároky v praxi na lano kladené, a také popsány prvky jistícího řetězce, které se jako celek podílejí na bezpečném zachycení pádu lezce.
Podmínky a požadavky na vzdělávání instruktorů v oblasti horolezectví

V úvodu práce je popsáno horolezectví a horolezecké asociace, které mají vliv na vzdělávání instruktorů v oblasti horolezectví a horských vůdců. Práce analyzuje vzdělávací systém ČR v oblasti horolezectví. Jsou zkoumány požadavky z praxe a požadavky ze zákona. Systém ČR je srovnáván s vybranými evropskými státy. Jako státy pro porovnání vzdělávacích systémů byly vybrány Švýcarsko, jako zástupce alpských zemí, a Velká Británie, která měla důležitou roli při vývoji horolezectví.
