The Positive and Negative Effects of Foreign Direct Investment Supported by The Investment Incentives
Dupal, Jiří ; Petříček, Václav (advisor) ; Laláková, Eva (referee) ; Plchová, Božena (referee) ; Trestr, Pavel (referee)
In the past ten years the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has become a phenomenon, which is nowadays considered to be one of the major future perspectives of an economy. For many economists and politicians, the FDI is perceived as a saving instrument, which should help solve problems such as structure, regional discrepancies and most importantly a high unemployment rate especially under the conditions of global economic and financial crisis. The inflow of the FDI to host economy brings many positive effects that cannot be substituted. In fact, it is considered as a positive externality that must be paid. In order to attract the FDI in a country, the investment incentives are proposed and current incentives are being rebuilt. But attracting FDI at all costs can also be counterproductive. The intended aim of this thesis is to analyze positive and negativ effects of the FDI.

The analysis of leases according to IFRS
Martiník, Karel ; Krupová, Lenka (advisor) ; Müllerová, Libuše (referee) ; Doležal, Jan (referee)
A lease is used by many companies as an instrument of external financing by which their investing and operational needs are financed. The lease itself is divided under the existing accounting standard IAS 17 Leases - into two parts -- the finance and the operating. The different classification of the lease can be used - position of a lessee and the position of a lessor. The problem in the case of the lessee is that the division into the finance and the operating lease is very sophisticated and also enables the opportunity of the creative accountancy. The reason is that some companies instead of the finance lease recognise the operating lease and conversely. This fact results in a fact that the financial statements are not comparable and users cannot rely on them. This thesis analyses these problems and it is looking for the solutions for the lessees and the lessors.

Language and Reality
Bárta, Ondřej ; Kučera, Jan (advisor) ; Kučera, Rudolf (referee)
This thesis tries to explore how ideologies, namely the national socialism, work. It is based on the presumption that the reality as we experience it, is impacted by the language that we use to describe it. Thus, in accord with the philosophy of Eric Voegelin, it claims that to understand a specific society in its authenticity, it is necessary to examine the means of the language that is used to categorize the world. And it is precisely Voegelins expressions, symbolism and order, that are good instruments to explain the fact that even the nacis created such "reality" that was capable to exclude masses of people from the sphere of moral reciprocity, using a language that refers to a certain view of the world.

Instruments of foreign policy of small states - Taiwan's economic and public diplomacy
Průchová, Kristýna ; Fürst, Rudolf (advisor) ; Karásek, Tomáš (referee)
Taiwan is still in partial diplomatic isolation. As a small country with a limited share in world affairs is not only limited by his specific requirements, but also to the instruments that are entitled to use. The only way to escape from this situation means expanding the number of diplomatic allies and efforts for integration into international structures. Recommended tools for small state foreign policy used to achieve its objectives, primarily by soft power. Based on the classification of Taiwan as a small state, the recommended instruments are of public and economic diplomacy. They act through creating a positive image of the country abroad and various forms of foreign assistance. Taiwan needs to gather as much support from the general public in different countries. A strong motivation for him is his effort to build its own space and fixed position for national survival and growth in China's shadow. By defining each of the central concepts, integrating Taiwan into the actual facts and the application of selected instruments for Taiwan's foreign policy terms there is built a connection between the small states issue and areas of economic and public diplomacy as soft power tools of Taiwan's foreign policy.

Legal regime of communal waste disposal
Pečeňová, Veronika ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Drobník, Jaroslav (referee)
Legal regulation of Municipal Waste Management The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the national legislative frameworks on municipal waste management. The reason for my research is based on the fact that waste volumes are growing, driven by changing production and consumption patterns. As confirmed in the Sixth Environment Action Programme, waste management is one of the key priorities of EU environmental policy and the framework in this area has been progressively put in place since 1970s. EU waste policy is instrumental for determining the potential outcomes to be achieved, but country-level policies determine the actual outcome. EU allows each Member State to tailor policies to its own particular circumstances. Waste management choices depend on the existing waste management facilities, infrastructure and governance structures. Although household waste represents a relatively small percentage of the total amount of waste produced it is a highly significant proportion because it contains large quantities of organic waste which can cause pollution problems, as well as materials such as glass and plastics which do not break down easily. The options for dealing with municipal waste are described in the "waste hierarchy" - with those towards the top of the list more desirable than those towards the...

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the concept of the leniency programme and to describe its development and current legal regulation in the European Union and the Czech Republic, to evaluate its rules, its effectiveness and morality. The thesis also explores the relationship between leniency programme and other instruments in antitrust law enforcement. Leniency programme lies in granting full or partial immunity from sanction to the member of a cartel that reports the existence of this cartel to the antitrust authority. The thesis describes the key features of an effective leniency programme and compares these general postulates with real facts from the practise of the European Commission and the Office for the Protection of Competition. The thesis continues with pointing out the differences between European Commission notification issued in the years 1996, 2002 and 2006 and it describes how the programme works nowadays. It also focuses on the cases in which the Commission used the leniency programme. It also deals with the issue of European Competition Network and its Model Leniency Programme. Then it describes the leniency programme in the Czech Republic and the decisions by the Office for the Protection of Competition on the basis of leniency application. The comparison of Czech and...

Analysis of typologic specifics of adaptation courses
Štěpánová, Berta ; Valenta, Josef (advisor) ; Krykorková, Hana (referee)
The dissertation focuses on adaptation courses. They represent specific access to personal development of pupils and students. In the phase of pre-research the field of concepts was narrowed, the working typology was created and the criteria of dividing were defined. In the theoretical part connections between the European vision of education and Czech curriculumforming documents were found and analyzed. Mentioned facts stand for the theoretical base of this diploma, together with elaboration about the personal and social education, adaptation courses and the concept of group dynamics. In the pre-research discovered variables, didactic categories, were elaborated deeply in the final chapter of the theoretical part. Then they were used in the practical, empirical part where they served for formation of the verifying instrument. This instrument will help to verify the working typology of the adaptation courses.
