20 years of research in social stratification in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis summarizes the most important personalities who devoted to the topic social stratification in the history of the Czech Republic. In the first chapter, the term social stratification is explained and other important terms are defined. The second part of the work analyses social structure and stratification researches in the period of the dominance of the communistic regime in the Czechoslovakia. This period is mainly connected with Pavel Machonin who executed an important sociological research in 1967. The most extensive part of this thesis is devoted to the period after the Velvet Revolution in the Czech Republic. In this chapter, main changes in the structure of Czech society are described and crucial personalities connected with the social stratification in the Czech Republic after 1989 are introduced. Implications of coffee trade for economic development of Ethiopia

This diploma thesis deals with the development of world coffee market and impacts for economic development of Ethiopia. First part is focused on characteristics of and trends in the world coffee market in terms of cultivation demands, world production, exports and domestic consumption in coffee growing regions. The analysis of world coffee prices, consequences and potential solutions of the global coffee crisis builds the core of the first part. The second part continues with analysis of economic development and economic structure of Ethiopia, from which follows the enormous economic importance of coffee for this poor country. Further, the coffe market and its developments is characterized - as far as produced and exported volume and prices paid to producers in the country are concerned. In conclusion of the second part the implications of Ethiopian development strategies into coffee sector are examined.

Cílem práce je ukázat, jak firmy přistupují k volbě své kapitálové struktury, které faktory berou v úvahu a jak tyto faktory ovlivňují jejich finální mix použitých kapitálových zdrojů. Práce popisuje nejvýznamnější soudobé teorie kapitálové struktury podniku a zkoumá jejich využití podnikovou praxí na vzorku podniků z několika evropských zemí, včetně ČR. Srovnání teoretických přístupů s reálnou podnikovou volbou kapitálové struktury ústí v nalezení v současnosti hlavních determinant kapitálové struktury podniku.

OPEC and its politics during the first oil crisis

First oil crisis played an important role in shaping of world economy. Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries played great role in this process. This paper deals with political and economical background of the time period prior to oil crisis, in front all with situation in the USA and Middle East. Oil market analysis, especially focused on the influence of group known as Seven sisters and its struggle with OPEC, can bring us many answers to questions about rising of the oil crisis. Important part of the paper is an analysis of impact of OPEC's behavior to world economy in the 70's. This behavior led to rise of several situations and to a formation of oil market as we know it today.

Fair Trade - Its Functions and Impacts on the Trade with Thirld World Countries

The aim of this work is to provide a comprehensive view on the issue of trade with Third world countries using the concept of fair trade. First, the discussion focuses on how fair trade should look like and how it should be different from the free market. Furthermore, this work deals mainly with the functions and effects of Fair Trade licensing, which sets out properly against the aforementioned interventionist concept of fair trade. After unloading the basic characteristics of licensing, its evolution and structure of the relevant licensing authorities, an economic analysis of the effectiveness of Fair Trade licenses in achieving the set goals follows. Possible impacts of Fair Trade on the society as a whole are discussed as well. The main aim is to answer the question whether Fair Trade is really the right approach to trade with poor producers from Third world countries and whether it is really necessary to abandon the free market conditions to achieve fair treatment and rewarding.

Process and rate of disability among seniors

The most characteristic feature of the demographic development in the Czech Republic and other developed countries is population ageing. The aim of the thesis "The process and rate of disability among seniors" was to determine the extent to which disability interferes with the lives of the seniors and to map the development, progress and conditions of the pension system. After an introductory overview of basic concepts, a part of the thesis deals with a theoretical analysis of the European framework of social security of seniors and another part is concerned with the reform of disability pensions in the Czech Republic. The focus is also on the forms of care for disabled pensioners. The last chapter of a theoretical part deals with deinstitutionalization. The empirical part analyzes the areas related to the development of population structure, administrative agenda, overview of pensions according to the WHO diagnosis groups, total overview of disability pensions, the development of the structure of pensions, financing of pension administration, and the average age of retired people. The economic side is also included, where pensions are compared with average salary and also the economic activity of seniors, housing, health and social services. Daňový systém Austrálie a jeho komparace s britským daňovým systémem

Tato práce se zaměřuje na popis daňového systému Austrálie, vymezení struktury daňového mixu, kvantifikaci daňové kvóty a výše příspěvku jednotlivých daňových skupin na celkových daňových příjmech. Následuje srovnání s britským daňovým systémem u daně z příjmů, daně z přidané hodnoty a v oblasti selektivních daní. Důležitým závěrem této práce je fakt, že australský daňový systém je relativně jednoduchý a zároveň v této zemi funguje velice dobrá informovanost občanů v daňových otázkách. Co se týče komparace australského daňového systému s britským daňovým systémem, lze říci, že tyto dva systémy jsou podstatně odlišné.

Práce představuje souhrnnou ekonomicko-politickou analýzu Itálie z pohledu klíčových ekonomických ukazatelů. Současná ekonomická situace v zemi představuje výsledek dlouhodobého procesu transformace italského hospodářství. Analýza podpory přílivu zahraničních investic a celkového investičního prostředí, zahraničního obchodu, jeho struktury, klíčových partnerů a systému podpory exportu jsou nezbytnou součástí této studie, stejně jako je nástin budoucího hospodářského vývoje, který se opírá o zjištěné skutečnosti.
