Comparsion of biochemical profile from plasma in patients with dyslipemia and type 2 diabetes after treatments of MDOC (chloruron).
Vaculíková, Ivana ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Martiník, Karel (referee)
The selected set of 28 patients (18 women and 10 men, age 47-79 years, median 65.3) from the database clinic for metabolic diseases and nutritional disorders II. Policlinic , s.r.o. in Hradec Kralove was made the determination of selected biochemical parameters of peripheral blood - BIL, GLU , GHB, liver enzymes ALT, AST, GGT, fat spectrum of values of TC, HDL, TG, VLDL, IA, and RICH proteins CRP and homocysteine. These initial values are important for clinical assessment 2 diabetes type and their values provided above biochemical laboratory equipment. This was compensated for elderly patients suffering from DM 2. typu with dyslipidemia who were treated with lipid-lowering agents containing for long-term HMG-CoA inhibitors (statins). After a period of 3.5 months was administered to patients with the working title nutraceutic Choluron (MDOC) at a daily dose 3 x 2x 500 mg with the intention of a possible effect on lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. After the period mentioned above were examined by biochemical values were recorded and the expected reduction in bilirubin, and so also of TC and VLDL. On the contrary, showed an adverse effect on the HDL and TG. The GLU and GHb were probably influenced by the value of individual lifestyle. The beneficial effect of Choluron was observed also in liver...

Measurement of development of business cycle according to the Austrian school of economics
Svatoňová, Martina ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mičúch, Marek (referee)
In the introduction of my work, I will focus on the presentment of the Austrian School and its main representatives. The work analyzes the Austrian business cycle theory, which is based on subjective utility theory and uses the knowledge of Austrian capital theory, monetary theory and the theory of prices. Austrian business cycle theory is based on the general economic theory. This theory suggests that the real interest rate is the market price. As a result of the change in this rate there is a variation in relative price which coordinates the time structure of production. The theory examines the production of higher order and lower order goods as well as the right to change the production of higher order goods to recognize the economic process which disrupts the structure of the economy. The main goal of this work is to identify the economic indicators which can be used to measure and predict the course of the business cycle in the conception of the Austrian school of economics. The theoretical findings are the basis of the practical part of this work. In this section I will try to answer the question whether the current economic crisis fits into the concept of the Austrian school of economics or not.

The thesis is divided into two parts, one theoretical where the aim will be to explain some of the current research concerning psoriatic arthritis and total hip replacement. It will be focused on the anatomical, bio-mechanical and kinesiological properties of the lower extremities as well as the surgical procedure of total hip arthroplasty and following rehabilitation. I will also briefly look at the epidemiology and etiology of psoriatic arthritis and associated symptoms. The second part will focus on a 67 year old woman with the mentioned diagnosis in the post-operative state 2 weeks after surgery. The practical part aim to describe examination, therapeutical approach and conclusions after one week of examination and therapy. 4

Derivates of 5-methylpyrazine-2-carboxylic Acid as Potential Drugs
Mistríková, Katarína ; Doležal, Martin (advisor) ; Vinšová, Jarmila (referee)
Title of rigorous thesis: Derivates of 5-methylpyrazine-2-carboxylic acid as potential drugs Introduction of rigorous thesis is about tuberculosis, its occurence in the world, drug resistence, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention and treatment, about used and developed drugs. Further, I describe methods of carboxylic acid amides preparation, schemes of reactions and six prepared anilides. These are characterized by melting temperature, elemental analysis, IR, 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy. Synthetized compounds were tested in vitro for antituberculotic, antifungal and herbicidal activity. Also values of lipophilicity log P and log K were gained. Relationship between biological activity, chemical structure and lipophilicity of prepared substances was evaluated.

Phenotypic and molecular approaches in the systematics of the Palearctic and Neotropic tree frogs, Hyla and Osteocephalus (Amphibia: Hylidae)
Gvoždík, Václav ; Moravec, Jiří (advisor) ; Mikulíček, Peter (referee) ; Hulva, Pavel (referee)
The systematics and taxonomy of tree frogs of the family Hylidae has undergone turbulent changes both at higher (subfamilies, genera) and lower (species) level during the last decades. The original approach used morphological characters to distinguish tree frogs. It has been completed by bioacoustics, since the advertisement calls of the males were in some cases found to represent an important behavioural reproductive barrier and therefore useful for systematic evaluations. However, a completely new impulse was given to systematics by the introduction of modern genetic methods. These methods have allowed to distinguish not only morphologically but even acoustically cryptic taxa. The most reliable method to distinguish tree frogs at present is a combination of data from the different disciplines. The present dissertation thesis aims to evaluate the systematics of tree frogs of the genus Hyla from Eastern Europe and the Middle East as well as the systematics of the Amazonian genus Osteocephalus using a combination of morphological, bioacoustic and molecular approaches. The thesis is composed of a general introduction, three published papers, two manuscripts under reviews and a conclusion chapter. The first three papers deal with the phenotypic (morphological plus bioacustic) approach in systematic...

Spirituality in Seriously Ill and Dying Patients
Špaček, Martin ; Lachman, Jan (advisor) ; Keřkovský, Pavel (referee)
This thesis focuses on spirituality particularly in relation to dying and death. It aims to provide an introduction to spirituality for health care professionals - especially physicians - as well as to discuss possible ways of addressing spiritual concerns in complex care of patients. The secularization of modern society and technological advance in medicine have extensively marginalized death and dying. However, hospice movement and palliative care reintroduced a new model of "good death" and revived interest and recognition of spirituality of seriously ill and dying patients. Despite multiple official recommendations including World Health Organization statements spirituality has a low profile both in our society and health care system, spiritual issues are generally not considered in medical education or in training of allied professions. Spirituality - as well as religion - is a complex phenomenon and may be discovered and expressed in wide variety of ways, depending on cultural and religious traditions. Medical staff should be able to identify and address spiritual issues of importance to their patients, not only in the end-of-life issues but also during the course of treatment.
