Classifications in the construction industry, their development and use

The theoretical part of the bachelor´s thesis discusses the importance of classification in construction. It describes the historical development and the importance of classification in the construction industry. Monitors use classifications and classifications in practice and use in the Czech legislation. The practical part deals with specific examples of classification of buildings and construction work. Part of the work is concerned with finding house prices in a period other than the planned construction.

The Analysis of Mortality in the Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to analyze mortality in the Czech Republic and compare it with mortality in the European Union and some european countries. This study was based on few mortality indicators, mostly on the life expectancy at birth. Life tables for the European Union and for the Czech Republic were designed for this purpose, using data from Eurostat and Czech Statistical Office. Life expectancy at birth was used for the analysis of mortality development in the Czech Republic from 1990's until now, where the subject of research was the time series of life expectancy at birth in period 1990-2014 for men and women. Thesis is also devoted to a comparation of mortality in the Czech Republic and three european countries from quite a different point of view. The aim of this analysis is to discover whether the mortality of some countries is influenced by the nearby sea. Life expectancy at birth was the main used indicator again together with life expectancy at the age of 65 years. Italy, Greece and Croatia were the analysed countries. Another part of this thesis is dealing with the idea of possible influence of accession to the European Union on the mortality in the Czech Republic. Infant mortality time series were used for this analysis, as well as time series of life expectancy at birth for men and women. The development of these indicators was analysed in graphs and with the help of time series characteristics. There is also a description of possible future development of Czech Republic's mortality in this thesis, based on the projection of mortality from Eurostat database - the main scenario and the higher life expectancy variant. The development of each mortality indicator is illustrated by a number of graphs and some tables. This thesis also includes methodical instructions for calculation of mortality rates, time series characteristics and detailed decsription of life table designing.

Economic and Social Statistics from Gender Perspective

Statistical data collection is on high level at this time in European countries including Czech Republic. However, there is still a space for enriching statistics and looking for innovative ways of using obtained data. In context of the governments' efforts to promote equal opportunities for women and men, gender statistics is being addressed. It should serve as a base for detecting a position of women and men in all areas of the society and it should help to evaluate the impact of various actions ex ante as well as ex post. The aim of this diploma thesis is to continue to fulfill the intention to provide an interconnected picture of need for gender statistics in connection with diploma thesis written by Ing. Barbora Stanislavová in 2013. The emphasis is put on adding information on current course of gender studies connected with economy and on describing selected gender statistics indicators. The previous thesis covers general gender equality indicators and labour market area, this diploma thesis concentrates on indicators in family area. Gender statistics description is accompanied by actual data for Czech Republic and other European countries in order to provide illustrative example of use of gender statistics.

Development of the legislation of the status and organisation of the statistical service in Czechoslovakia in the years 1918 - 1938

This diploma thesis examines the legislation of the status and organisation of the statistical service in Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1938 which has lacked sufficient exploration. In this period, statistics referring to public administration was centralised and under the responsibility of the State Statistical Council and the State Statistical Office. These institutions are given special attention, particularly issues associated with their intricate aspects: personnel, budget and location. While the State Statistical Office was one of the central government authorities in Czechoslovakia, the State Statistical Council had the nature of an advisory body and an independent decision-making authority. The centralisation did not apply to statistical surveys carried out by certain cities. This thesis uses primarily unpublished archive materials and published sources concerning the activities of the State Statistical Office and the State Statistical Council.

Selected methods of substantive testing and application of statistical tools in audit

Audit is an interdisciplinary activity which requires, nowadays more than ever in the past, knowledge and skills in the field of accounting and related financial knowledge, as well as from other non-financial sectors (such as the statistics or the information technology). The use of statistics in the audit may not be entirely obvious at first sight and thus the main aim of this thesis is to point out possible ways to apply statistical tools in substantive testing (which represents an important stage of the audit work). The most important use of statistics in the audit can be found in sampling methods. The range of a tested population may be too wide for testing the whole population that leads to the fact that it is necessary to select an audit sample appropriately. The thesis outlines what kind of method and technique of selection to choose and how to generalize the results obtained during the sample testing to the entire population. Besides the main aim in the form of the application of statistical tools in the audit, the thesis also focuses on a brief description of the audit history, polemic of current understanding of the term audit, professional organizations and regulations of the audit in the Czech Republic and description of individual stages of audit work (especially on a detailed analysis of a substantive testing).

Statistics and its Utilization (Abuse) in Gaining Information

This diploma thesis is focused on how statistics and statistical concepts can be abused to influence a public opinion. The thesis includes theoretical knowledge regarding to statistics, public opinion and institutions which are commonly used as a source of statistical data. A questionnaire was used for a practical part of the diploma thesis. The questionnaire should answer research questions included in the introduction. MS Excel and SAS EG 5.1 were used to process a questionnaire data. There was chosen one or several examples of use and abuse of statistics in creation of information for influencing public opinion almost in all chapters. The conclusion contains a summary of all findings and answers to research questions defined in the introduction of the diploma thesis.

Before the creation precedes familiarization with the current system, database and technology that will be used for implementation. Followed by the main part describing the design and implementation of the module itself.

Territorial and population development of village Lštění from the mid 18th century up to the present

The bachelor thesis is focused on the village Lštění the period since 1750 to 2011. It was written based on the demographic analysis populacion and the geographic analysis of the count of residential building. The first part of this bachelor thesis is aimed at a description and a progress of the demographic method that was used for a research number of a population in a village Lštění. The second part include a brief description and a progress of the geographic method. It was used for a finding out a number of living buildings that are situated in the village during researched years. History of the village Lštění is also found in the bachelor thesis. Archives, that are found in the fund of Farní úřad Lštění (the Parish Office Lštění), placed in the State Districtual Archive Prachatice and Velkostatek (Large farm) Vimperk 1314 - 1949 placed in the State Regional Archives in Třeboň, are the basis source for this bachelor thesis. The issued source Historický lexikon obcí České republiky 1869 - 2005 enriched this bachelor thesis.
