Nursing care for woman at minor gynecological surgeries
KÁPLOVÁ, Veronika
Minor gynecological surgeries are defined as surgeries after which the patients are dismissed from hospital to home care within 12 to 24 hours. The purpose of pre-surgery care provided by a midwife is to ensure thorough somatic and mental preparation of the patient for the surgery. The patient is required to sign all necessary consents with the surgery, she shall be informed about the course of pre-surgery care, the surgery itself, post-surgery recovery and naturally also about all risks involved. The result of a consistent instruction provided by a midwife shall be a patient who is calm and mentally prepared for the surgery (Henková, 2010; Repková, 2006). The bachelor thesis includes a theoretical part and a practical part with research. The theoretical part focuses on minor gynecological surgeries and nursing care before and after the surgery. The objective of the bachelor thesis was to survey the level of awareness among women about minor gynecological surgeries. Two research questions were formulated to meet the objective: what the level of awareness about minor gynecological surgeries is among women and which method of information provision would be appreciated by women. The research part of the bachelor thesis employed the method of qualitative survey. The data were collected by means of semi-structured interviews. The surveyed set of respondents consisted of 8 women. The interviews were conducted from the beginning of February to the end of March 2014. The survey was expected to provide information about whether the women had been sufficiently informed about minor gynecological surgeries. For the category of pre-surgery period we investigated the following: What is the experience of women with previous nursing care? To what extent were the women informed by their local gynecologists and were they sufficiently informed in the hospital before the surgery? The results have shown that most of the respondents did not have any previous experience with nursing care. Two respondents said that they had previously undergone a minor surgery and that they were content with the nursing care. Results of the survey have shown some gaps in the form and quantity of information provided in medical offices of the local gynecologists. One half of the respondents were not content with the information provided in the medical offices. The information provided in the hospital before the surgery was assessed positively by five respondents out of eight and they appreciated particularly the personal and accommodating approach, professional conduct and empathy. For the category of post-surgery period we investigated how the respondents saw the approach of the nursing staff in the operating room. The results have shown that the respondents evaluated positively particularly the fact that the physician introduced himself/herself to the patient and provided information about the subsequent care. For the category of post-surgery care we also investigated subjective feelings of the respondents after the surgery, their awareness of the post-surgery regime at home and the form of information provision. Results of the research suggest that patients are highly perceptive, particularly when it comes to friendly gestures and words. The information about the home post-surgery regime was rated positively by one half of the respondents and negatively by the other half. On the other hand, they appreciated the personal and accommodating approach and professional conduct. Most of the respondents were content with the form of information provision. Some of them would have appreciated to have a leaflet or information brochure containing all important information. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis can be as used as a study material for future students of midwifery at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies of the University of South Bohemia.

The backward-facing step flow is studied by measuring the instantaneous wall shear rate along the channel centerline. A two-strip electrodiffusion probe is applied to provide information on the flow direction in the near-wall region. The wall shear rate profiles behind the step are measured and the position of reattachment point detected. The Reynolds numbers examined (Reh from 30 to 1800) cover the laminar, transient and beginning of turbulent flow regime. The results are found to be in a good agreement with the experimental and numerical data previously published for the same channel geometry (ER=2, AR=25).

Education Programmes for Wilson´s Disease Patients
RŮŽIČKOVÁ, Michaela
The Bachelor thesis called ``Education Programmes for Wilson´s Disease Patients`` describes the disease itself, its cause, education programmes provided by nurses, the methods and functions of the education programmes, the impact of the disease on patient´s everyday life and significant changes in his lifestyle as a whole. The thesis has two aims. 1. To find out if educated patients follow the diet recommended to them. 2. To find out how much the Wilson´s disease affects patients´everyday lives. Two hypotheses were stated: The patients are supposed to follow the diet recommmended. The patients´ lifestyle is changed while keeping the therapeutic regime. The hypotheses were verified by a quantitative research technique. The data were collected by a questionnaire which was responded by adult patients of professional departments, 4th Department of Medicine - Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague and General University Hospital in Prague, Department of Neurology, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague and General University Hospital in Praque and Inpatient and Outpatient Departments in Strakonice. The survey has shown that educated patients follow the diet recommended and the therapeutic regime affects significantly their everyday lives. The hypotheses stated at the beginning were proved. One interesting fact was that the neurology outpatients believe more than the others that their lifestyles are affected by the therapeutic regime. On the other hand most of them think their lives do not differ much from healthy population. The findings of the thesis can improve educational programmes for these patients and their families provided by nurses.

Spa guests under surveillance in the end of the 18th century and in the beginning of the 19th century
Jílková, Lucie ; Tinková, Daniela (advisor) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (referee)
On the verge of 19th century, all ancien régimes tried to find any way how to treat changes and impacts from the French revolution and other democratical movements across Europe. One of the biggest fear were citizens coming to the Habsburg lands from new republics. The guests who came to relax in Western Bohemia spas enjoyed a international society, but hated the regime well-known for spies who didn't have any respect for postal secret. The author uses Michel Foucault's theory of disciplination to see Austrian institutions'attempts to register all foreigners, especially those at spa resorts, to check their supposed liasons with revolutionaries. Thanks to this attemps, a lot of new sources that records every spa guests appeared and haven't been almost discovered until recently. Systematical monitoring of the foreigners goes hand in hand with with creating of the Ministry of Police and the Spa inspection. At this time, passport forms were settled and since then they were kept unchanged up to 1850's. To sum up, the control of foreigners coming to Bohemia was not an invent of this period, only the rigorousness of it is new.

Pavlova, Olga ; Pešička, Jiří (referee) ; Holý, Jiří (advisor)
In this work, we analyze selected phrases in Karel Poláček's works, i.e. mainly his Žurnalistický slovník and his novels Bylo nás pět and Muži v ofsajdu. At the beginning, we define the conception of a phrase and in connection to than, we define the specificity of the author's prose. Then follows the analysis of the misuse of language in totalitarian regimes and journalism. Finally, we retrieve the information on the frequency of the actual use of the selected expressions in today's media with the help of Anopress.

Regime of Thunderstorm occurence in Slovakia
Kontrošová, Jana ; Hošek, Jiří (referee) ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor)
4 Abstract The subject matter of my thesis is the regime of thunderstorm occurrence in Slovakia. In the theoretic part of my work, I deal with thunderstorm categorization, condition of its creation and development and with side-effect phenomena. I also mention continentality of climate, which is linked with disintegration and occurrence of days of thunderstorms and thunderstorms. In the practical part, I focus on statistic analysis of number of days of thunderstorms and thunderstorms at the Irish meteorological station Valentia, which represents ocean climate and at 5 Slovak meteorological stations with continental climate in the period of 1961 - 2006 or 2007. I study the trend during years, months, seasons and number of thunderstorm phenomena at the stations, while comparing principles of oceanic and continental climate in the context of thunderstorms and days of thunderstorms occurrence. The main object of my thesis it to define thunderstorm season at each station by method of cumulative series designed by I. Sládek. Conventionally specified seasons do not always match reality. By this method, it is able to determine the natural beginning, end and duration of seasons according to selected climatological parameter. The thunderstorm season at Slovak meteorological stations usually begins at 3rd of May, ends...

The role of the Roman Catholic Church during the transition to democracy in Poland and Chile
Labutta, Michael ; Štefek, Martin (advisor) ; Květina, Jan (referee)
(anglicky) The thesis will be addressed by comparing the states which have undergone a transition to democracy and at the same time you can observe the strong influence of the Roman Catholic Church. Specifically, it will be about Poland and about Chile. In the beginning, I tried to capture the position of the Church in these states for the duration of the undemocratic regime (if it stood on the side of the regime, covert opposition, or whether they acted directly against the regime). I will try to describe what influenced this attitude - the injustices of the regime, historical context. Another part will look at what the relationship with the Church undemocratic regimes sought. Whether enforce repression, cooptation, or some form of "tacit agreement". In response to previous questions in the conclusion I will try answer whether the Roman Catholic Church was open to cooperation and advocated more confrontational stance, and how did this attitude affect the form, course and outcome of transition in these countries.
