Geochemical and isotopic dating of recent flood sediments of Morava River

This study was focused on fluvial sedimentary records in the southern part of Morava River - all studied profiles are situated in the study area called Strážnické Pomoraví. Geochemical dating methods and analysis which were applied on river sedimentary records in profiles in this part of Morava River; were performed to show that fluvial sedimentary records are useful environmental archives for determination of anthropogenic contamination in the last 100 - 200 years. Determination of depth dependence of heavy metals - especially Pb, Zn and Cu and other methods such as determination of Pb isotopic ratios and magnetic susceptibility were used for chemostratigraphic correlation of studied profiles. Cation exchange capacity, lithological description of profiles and elementary analysis using EDXRF were used for facial description of profiles. Possibility of using the 137Cs method for geochemical dating of sedimentary profiles was also investigated.

Social - economy Function of Business on the Market of EU

My thesis deals with the problems of the Fair Trade business not only on the market of the European Union but it deals with these problems on the market of the Czech republic. The preface deals with the question {\clqq} why did I choose this theme``. The Fair Trade is good exaple and hits off the subjekt of my work. The second part of my thesis is concentrated on the importance and the function of the business from the theoretical standpoint. First of all I define advantages of business and then I put it together with the determinated functions from the economic aspects.The third part of my thesis describes methods, that was used to achieve the determination aims of my thesis.I determined the social {--} economic function and the consequence of the Fair Trade business. The fourth part is the analytical part of my thesis. There is the analysis of the environment of the Fair trade in the teritory of the Czech Republic in the frame of the providing of services and a acquaintanceship this brend in our republic, because the Fair Trade is there still almost unknown and there aren´t datas of researches.The last part of my thesis contains the summary and the betterment this problems.

Factor analysis of somatotype

Název: Faktorová analýza somatotypu Title: Factor analysis ofsomatotype Cíle práce: Potvrdit Sheldonovu teorii pro určerú tělesného typu na základě odhadu validit indikátorů metodiky dle H-C. Metoda: Základrú statistická data byla zpracována programem Microsoft Excel. Pro stanovení struktury somatotypu, resp. pro testování jednotlivých hypotéz o struktuře somatotypu byl použit program LISREL. Kovariančrú matice a příslušné asymptotické kovariance byly vypočteny pomocí programu PRELIS, Výsledky: Nebyl nalezen model, který by podporoval Sheldonovu teorii o stanoverú somatotypu. Experimental use of selected cholesterol-lowering drugs as potential candidates in modification of the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease

Rationale: The current standard treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is represented by acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors. In the pathogenesis of AD, cholesterol is directly involved. Its blood and brain levels positively correlate with amyloid β (Aβ) - a peptide characteristic for AD and capable of increasing AChE activity. Based on these data, we may suppose that cholesterol-lowering medication such as statins and alendronate might confer protection against dementia, probably via modulation of cholesterol synthesis in the brain. The aim of the present studies was to investigate possible influence of two lipophilic statins (simvastatin and atorvastatin) and alendronate on cholesterol synthesis in selected parts of the rat central nervous system (CNS) and other parameters relevant to Alzheimer's disease pathophysiology. Methods: We have performed 3 similar experiments on awaked rats that were administered simvastatin, atorvastatin, alendronate or aqua. At the conclusion of experiments, blood and brain parts were isolated and analyzed for cholesterol, lathosterol, hydroxymethylglutaryl- coenzyme A reductase protein, acetylcholinesterase activity, amyloid beta (40 and 42) and cholesterol synthesis rate. Determination of the Kinetics of the Crushing Process of Tablets Containing Isosorbide-5-mononitrate

Šulková Petra - diplomová práce - 2006 The diploma theses deal with the determination of optimal parameters for measurement of the kinetics of destruction on basis of force - displacement record. Theoretical part of the work discusses questions of fillers in direct tablet compression. It describes lactose in detail. Besides it describes the methods of evaluation of mechanical resistance of tablets and parameters destructive process. The aim of the experimental work was the evaluation of the destructive process by differential method without zero setting. The minimum value of preloading and cycle rate was to be determined. The tablets of Isosorbit-5-mononitrate were evaluated. The result of the work was the determination of the optimal parameters for the measurement of mechanical resistance of tablets by means of T1 - FRO 50. Minimum value of preloading is 0.1 N, cycle rate and preloading rate 1.0 mm/s. Simultaneously, it was found out that the decrease in force does not influence destructive force, displacement and energy.

Implementation of the digital archive in multinational company

The goal of this work was to process the problematic of the digital archive -- implementation of the digital archive into the payroll system include completion analysis of effectiveness. A part of this diploma work includes detailed analysis of the effectiveness of the digital archive used in the company with the international activity, from its benefits till its cost that relate with the implementation of the digital archive. In the work it is described the problematic with the implementation itself in praxis, it is explaining the digital archive from the technological aspect in detail, even from the users side. It is described the process of extensive analysis of the digital archive in the company and comparing with the manual archiving of the data, with the help of the multi-criteria decision making. The goal was to find out if the implementation of the digital archive has got such a proofing value and met the expectation of all ADP managers. For the calculation there was used the method the determination of the weight of certain criteria and the levels of realization. The method was used for analyzing of the benefits, analyzing of the cost came from actual measurable units. Then there were used three methods for the comparison of the costs and incomes: creation of the quotient of costs and incomes, the graphical scheme of costs and incomes and transformation of the costs into incomes and defining the value of benefits. This whole process of calculation was repeated twice. In the first part there were used my own experience and knowledge and the weight was chosen by my opinion. Then In the second part there was used a question-form that was given to the German clients.

Analysis of The Effects of Wind on The Steel Ventilated Facade

This master´s thesis analyzes an effect of wind load on the ventilated facade claddings. The analysis is performed on the various types of facades, from unventilated to ventilated facades with a different geometrical arrangement of facade shell. The theoretical part describes the basic knowledge about the theory of flow, turbulence modeling, determining an optimal domain, verification of the calculation model and user interface in the ANSYS software. The final part compares the value of the wind load reduction depending on the change of the gap widths and the size of ventilated spaces. The resulting values are obtained by CFD simulations. The thesis includes a design and an assessment of the steel hall construction.

Models and tools for validation of biodiversity in the Dřevnice catchment

We use several GIS tools to assess and predict the changes in biodiversity in the Dřevnice catchment. First,\nwe created GIS layer, consisted of natural and near to nature habitats (system Natura 2000) and Corine\nLand Cover for more anthropically influenced habitats. The Land Change Modeller was used to predict the\ndevelopment of land cover on the basis of comparison of data in several historical periods. To determine\nthe areas with high threat to biodiversity we created firstly another GIS layer of habitats with low\nnaturalness. Afterwards we used the model GLOBIO 3, which works with five basic driving forces (habitat\nnaturalness, infrastructure presence, distance from communications, nitrogen pollution load and\nmodelled climatic change parameters). GLOBIO 3 uses for each layer the MSA indicator (mean species\nabundance per area), which reflects the worldwide threat to selected endangered species. With regard to\nthe conditions of the Czech Republic and non‐availability of the nationwide database of finding data on\nprotected plant and animals, we should change this indicator for MHV (mean habitat value per area). Last\nGIS layer enables us to select up to now unprotected areas with a high value of biodiversity and naturalness of habitats for environmentally friendly agriculture and forestry management by model Marxan. The model combines the existing categories of natural reserves, biodiversity values (expressed in CZK according to Biotope Valuation Method) and the penalty for any nature degradation due to inadequate protection, abundance and distribution of species of interest (in this case the valuable and\npreserved habitats). Simultaneously it aims for a spatial compactness of design. The output is a layeridentifying the refugia for preservation and spreading of wild plants and animals to the cultural landscape,\nespecially with regard to climate change.
