Linzerová, Petra.: Biological Effect of Plant Metabolites III. Izolation of Alkaloids from Eschscholzia californica Cham. A Diploma Work, Charles University in Praque, Faculty Of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Pharmaceutical Botany And Ecology, Hradec Králové 2009, 54 pages Aims of this diploma thesis were to isolate alkaloids from J1 extract obtained from a herb with roots from a plant Eschscholzia californica Cham., to perform the identification of gained alkaloid and to participate in determination of activity of isolated alkaloid against the erythrocytic acetylcholinesterase. After finding suitable mix of reagents we divided the extract on a chromatografic column filled with silica gel by system of chloroform : ethanol with gradual increasing of concentration ethanol. With obtained eluents we made a orientation thin layer chromatography with developing system acetic acid : ethanol : water (60 : 30 : 10). Alkaloids were detected by UV radiation and spray with Dragendorff reagent. After decantation of fractions with similar spectrum of matters we cleared selected mixture. We obtained two alkaloids; NMR spectroscopy will be used to determine the structures of these alkaloids. Keywords: Eschscholzia californica Cham., benzo[c]phenantridin alkaloids, column chromatography, Alzheimer...

Thresholds of Representation
Ezechiášová, Monika ; Novák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Šedo, Jakub (referee)
The thesis deals with electoral thresholds of the fundamental electoral formulae, in particular, six proportional techniques and four plurality systems are analyzed. First, the general formulae for the theoretical thresholds are derived at both the district and nationwide levels. Second, the thesis focuses on Actual Thresholds, mainly on the question of their operational definition and academic relevance. Both the theoretical parts of the thesis concerned with the theoretical and actual thresholds are supported with an analysis of particular electoral systems. In the case of the theoretical threshold the analysed systems are those, which currently applies for the upper house of Parliament and for the municipal elections of the Czech Republic. The third analysed case is the electoral system used for the municipal elections of the Slovak Republic. In the case of empirical thresholds, the final chapter seeks to compare current and original electoral systems for the lower house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Representation of an enterpreneur in business relations
Deák, Marko ; Horáček, Vít (referee) ; Plíva, Stanislav (advisor)
The purpose of submitted thesis is to analyze current regulation of one of the key institutes of law - institute of representation. The institute is common for different branches of law. The core of representation is mutual for all branches, although several differences appear. Regulation of this institute can be found in substantial as well in procedural law. The thesis focuses at representation of an entrepreneur (also referred to as a businessman) in particular. Duplication of regulation in Civil and Commercial Code results in fact, that appropriate provision of both Codes must be applied for proper interpretation. Institute of representation enables that under certain circumstances a legal person (proxy or authorized representative) can act for other legal person and in the name of other person (principal, mandator or donor of the power). Legal consequences - rights and duties - shall arise directly to the principal. Representation has long history, but contrary to other legal institutes, inspiration can not be found in Roman law, because Roman law did not recognize representation in modern understanding. The institute is very important especially in the world of entrepreneurs, since consequences of representation are crucial for legal status of entrepreneur himself, because the rights and...

The scope of liability to damages under the Commercial Code
Pelánková, Iveta ; Plíva, Stanislav (advisor) ; Horáček, Vít (referee)
- 105 - Extent of duty of damages according to the Commercial Code - Summary The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the question whether or not it is possible to waive a claim of damages according to the Commercial Code. It is a controversial topic because one part of legal theory (strict interpretation) adjudicates an opinion that it is in compliance with the law and other part (liberal interpretation) says that it is not. I introduces various opinions in my thesis and I explains why I think that such the opinion is (or is not) wise and useful in practise. I personally adjudicates the opinion that it is in compliance with the Commercial Code to waive a claim of damages by the way of mutual agreement with respect to the subject-matter of fulfilment. The thesis is composed of seven chapters, each of them is dealing with different aspects of the abovementioned question. Chapter One is introductory and defines the thesis matter as a topical problem. The chapter is subdivided into two parts. Part One describes my aims which I would like to reach in the thesis and it explains two basic views of the possibility to change the extent of duty of damages. Part Two deals with partial issues subsequently discussed in the thesis. Chapter Two examines relevant Czech legislation which is generally refered to a right of...

Trends and contexts of development of the energy sector
Novotná, Petra ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
The world is nowadays dependent on energies, which become scarcer and scarcer. Petroleum reserves are shrinking and it is necessary to find new suitable substitutes. Energy consumption is increasing and energy crises are threatening the whole world. This caused price increased of all energies. Prices and consumption can decrease because of economic crisis, however when recession is over prices of energies are likely to grow again. Economic crisis can cause energy sources are predominantly located in politically unstable countries and other countries are dependent on them. National strategies on energy sector are therefore crucial. The Czech Republic with other countries consumes more energy than actually needed. Savings on energies are becoming more important. The production and consumption of energies have harmful by-products polluting the environment which is not desirable. Renewable resources are much less harmful to the environment but their consumption is still limited. Big potential could be also in nuclear energy and coal power plants with new technologies. The goal of this paper is to analyse individual indicators of energy sector of the Czech Republic and compare it internationally, set the strengths and weaknesses of this sector.

Uptake and Distribution of Chlorphenols in Barley
Jíšová, Tereza ; Forczek, Sándor ; Tesařová, E.
Chlorinated phenols represent one of the most common groups of toxic industrial compounds.\nThey are resistant to biodegradation in the environment and persist for a long time. Food crops\nsuch as spring barley, are susceptible to contamination by various pesticides and organic waste,\nand these substances can then get into the plants. Uptake and distribution of 2-chlorophenol were\ninvestigated in axenic spring barley. After absorption of 14C-labelled 2-chlorophenol, the plants\nwere harvested and extracts were analyzed for 2-CP derived radioactivity. The uptake of 2-CP to\nroots and transport to leaves were confirmed. Radioactive balance was calculated for individual\nplants.
