Name: Ivan Vokřál Title: On pharmacokinetic of single administration of albendazole in mouflon (Ovis musimon) Abstract: This diploma thesis contributes to the knowledge of albendazole pharmacokinetics in mouflon (Ovis gmelini musimon) treated by a single administration of albendazole in a dose of 30,0 mg/kg of body weight. Two separate experiments were realised. The first one was carried out on 12 mouflon ewes divided into 4 groups. Groups of the animals were gradually culled at the time intervals of 4, 6, 8 and 10 hours after the albendazole administration. The samples of the blood (serum), bile from gallbladder and terminal bile ducts were withdrawn. The concentration of albendazole (ABZ) and its major metabolites albendazolsulphoxide (ABZSO) and albendazolsulphone (ABZSO2) were determined in samples of biological materials by HPLC method. To determine the ratio of ABZSO enantiomers, the HPLC method with chiral column was used. The second experiment carried on 2 animals (time interval 6 hours) extended and partially confirmed previous results. The increase in blood concentrations of albendazole and its metabolites until the eighth hour after the administration is evident. In later time intervals decrease in concentrations was documented. The concentrations of ABZSO and ABZSO2 between the bile...

Zkoumání membránových vlastností lipozómů pomocí měření zeta potenciálu
Kortusová, Miroslava ; Miletín, Miroslav (referee) ; Solich, Petr (advisor)
The most comfortable drug administration is the oral one. Unfortunately the protein or peptide substances are not stable in conditions present in the digestive system. Also, thanks to their size and polaritz they are very badly absorbed through the wall of the intestine so it is necessary to modify and specially protect them. Liposomes appear to be suitable candidates - particles with phospholipid membrane not only can protect peptides and proteins against the aggressive environment in the gastrointestinal system they also improve their absorption. Liposomes could be prepared of the wide scale of different phospholipids, surface active substances or bile acid salts. The aim of this research is to prepare liposomes with addition of rarely used substances in practice and substances (particularly cholylsarcosine, stearylamine and d-α-tocopherol polyethylene glycol succinate) and find out some of their surface properties crucial for the further use in liposomes. Liposomes were prepared by film method followed by hydration and manual extrusion through a membrane with defined pore size of 200nm. The average vesicle size was defined by the method of photon - correlation spectroscopy (PCS). We succeeded in confirmation that the liposome particle size is also dependent on the constitution of the lipid...

The study of the properties of tablets made from the mixtures of directly compressible starch and lactitol.
Vajglová, Jana ; Mužíková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
The work studied the mechanical strenght and the disintegration time of tablets prepared by direct compession of mixtures of pregelatinized starch Starch 1500 and directly compresible lactitol LactyTab in proportion 1:1 and 3:1 according to the compression force (12, 16, 20kN), concentration of the lubricant, sodium stearyl fumarate, Pruv, (0, 0,5 and 1%) and addition of model active substance, acetylsalicylic acid (50%). The tablet strenght of the mixtures of Starch 1500 and lactitol in proportions 1:1 and 3:1 rose with the compression force and decreased with increasing concentration of Pruv, there was no significant difference between the strenght of the compacts with 0,5 and 1% of the lubricant for the mixture in proportion 1:1. The blend of Starch 1500 and lactitol 1:1 without any lubricant gave the firmest tablets. Similarly, the mixture in proportion 1:1 with acetylsalicylic acid showed higher strenght of the compacts which decreased with increasing concentration of Pruv. The disintegration time of the compacts rose with the compression force. The hypothesis of longer disintegration time of the tablets with bigger amount of Starch 1500 was confirmed at compression force 12 and 20kN with an exception to blends containing 1% of Pruv. The tablets including acetylsalicylic acid showed longer...

Computer games addiction
Nejepínský, Adam ; Pavlíček, Antonín (advisor) ; Matuštík, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of computer games addiction. The attention is paid mainly to on-line games for more players. The purpose of this thesis was to describe this problem and to check - through questionnaire investigation - if the addiction to computer games and the impacts connected with the games really deserve excessive experts and laics attention. The thesis has two parts -- theoretical and practical ones. The theoretical part describes the possibilities of diagnosing the on-line games addiction and digests the up to date knowledge and opinions of the expert public. Furthermore the readers are acquaint with the computer games, with their attractiveness for the players and with the effects, which are connected with this specific addiction - aggressiveness, health impacts, social effects. In the practical part the attention is paid to the results of the questionnaire investigation, which was focused on the players of the most hazardous playing genre from the dependence point of view -- the MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). Two methods were used for determining the percentage of the addicted players. Furthermore the practical part proves the hypotheses dealing with the aggressiveness of the MMORPG players and with the positive impacts of the computer games. Thanks to the theoretical and practical parts, the thesis confirmed that uselessly too much attention is paid to the computer games addiction, because the most negative effects were disproved or at least questioned. The practical part demonstrated among other that for the time being the diagnostic methods are not on such a level so as to be able to identify the problematic persons with certainty.

A comparison of the properties of tablets from silicified microcrystalline celluloses of different particle size.
Nováková, Petra ; Mužíková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
In the work is studied mechanical strength and disintegration time of tablets prepared by direct compression of the two form silicified microcrystalline celluloses - Prosolv SMCC 50 and Prosolv SMCC 90 according to the compression force (3; 3,5; 4kN), addition of lubricants (magnesium stearate, Pruv) and addition of model active substances (acetylsalicylic acid, ascorbic acid). Studied co-processed filler-binders differ by the size of elements. Used concentration of lubricants was 0,5 %, of model active substances 50 %. Tablet strenght and the disintegration time rise with the increasing compression force. The work confirms the low impact of the lubricants on the tablet strenght from microcrystalline celluloses (especially Prosolv SMCC 50). Prosolv SMCC 50 gives firmer tablets with longer disintegration time. The disintegration time of all of the tableting blends is increased by adding of lubricants as well, higher negative impact has magnesium stearate. The presence of model active substances decreases the strength of the tablets and accelerates the disintegration time of all of the tested compounds, in the mixtures with active substances was not applied negative impact of lubricats on the disintegration time (except of Prosolv SMCC 50 in mixture with ascorbic acid - the disintegration time was not...

Evolution, ecology and systematics of symbiotic shrimps (Crustacea: Decapoda: Caridea)
Horká, Ivona ; Petrusek, Adam (advisor) ; Fikáček, Martin (referee) ; Chan, Tin-Yam (referee)
This thesis is focused on symbiotic associations of caridean shrimps with a variety of marine animals of different phyla. Currently, five caridean families comprise symbiotic species. Palaemonidae (including the traditionally recognised subfamily Pontoniinae of predominantly symbiotic species) is the most species-rich and ecologically important of them. Its representatives live from temperate to tropical marine or brackish waters, with the highest diversity in the Indo-West Pacific biogeographic area and the western Atlantic. The thesis is composed of two parts, one focusing on ecology and evolutionary biology, the other on systematics. The first part consists of three studies providing new knowledge on the evolution of symbioses in palaemonid shrimps. We confirmed that inter-phylum host-switching events and colonization of new hosts likely played a major role in the evolution of palaemonid symbiotic shrimps and these evolved multiple times (Chapter 1). Similarly, the switching from ecto- to endosymbiotic mode, associated with new body forms and ecological adaptations, occurred several times in palaemonid evolution. Reversal back to a free-living mode is rare, occasionally observed among ectosymbiotic lineages. Our results also confirm the necessity of systematic revision of this group,...

What Socioeconomic Factors Explain Type 2 Diabetes Prevalence?
Makarevich, Veranika ; Votápková, Jana (advisor) ; Bryndová, Lucie (referee)
The study aims to identify the influence of socioeconomic factors on the prevalence of type 2 diabetes for individuals aged 27 and older in the Republic of Belarus. We analyze data from the Diabetes Survey conducted by the Endocrinology Medical Center in Minsk and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus from 2011 to 2015. The association between socioeconomic factors and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes is examined using logistic regression with sequential adjustments for clinical and behavioral predictors. Our findings indicate that individuals with lower income and educational levels are more likely to suffer from type 2 diabetes than those in higher income and education groups. Moreover, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes decreases as income and educational level go up. Furthermore, this association remains significant even after further adjusting for various behavioral and clinical factors. In addition, we confirm that type 2 diabetes is more prevalent among overweight / obese, physically inactive and older individuals. These findings suggest that strategies for preventive diabetes programs should be focused on socioeconomic environment rather than on individual risky behavior only.

Possibilities for developing sustainable transport in Prague
Macháč, Richard ; Černá Silovská, Hana (advisor) ; Kolaříková, Jana (referee)
This diploma thesis is concerned with the issue of sustainable transport. In the theoretical part, the emphasis is placed on setting the concept of sustainable transport into a broader context; it also describes various factors influencing the choice of the means of transport, which is crucial for transport planning. Furthermore, it describes a set of diverse tools used for transport regulation. At the end of the theoretical part, it mentions specific approaches implemented in selected cities all over the world. The practical part is based on a significant personal research, which helps to understand the issues of transport in a selected area of Prague. On the basis of this research, it subsequently suggests possible measures that might lead to a decrease in the intensity of automobile transport in the aforementioned area. Most of those measures can be similarly applied in other city areas as well.
