Discourse, practice and construction of national interest: study of the U.S. security policy continuity

The following study has been deeply inspired by growing bulk of postmodern scholarship. The basic logic behind this study comprises of the assumption that the fundamental structures of international politics are social constructs constituted in the processes and practices of dealing with them. Ultimately the text below offers problematization of several concepts of the American security policy believes that are usually more or less taken for granted. Working within this notion, common knowledge must be understood as the problem itself. Meanings we ascribe to various terms are in fact product of previous experiences, shared believes, and culturally contingent images that has been constituted through various practices in dealing with them. The following study thus further elaborates the concept of the national interests and of the relation between national interests and threats

Social networks - case study of Facebook

In my thesis I deal with online social networks. At the beginning, I describe the social networks in general. Continuing by online social networks, where do I start with a brief history and then I focuse on the description of their basic features. Next section is devoted to the possibilities of social networks for both current users and business users, or state institutions or politicians. Next chapter is devoted to the risks of online social networking. These risks are described for users and operators. The practical part of my work is about internet social network Facebook. Here is a brief description of its history and basic usability. The greater part of this chapter is concentrated on partial parsing content of Facebook with focusing on education, politics, business and socio-pathological phenomena. This section is supplemented by tables of data found in the environment of Facebook. Work ends with a brief summary of the findings.

Comparison of public budgets in various political cycles in Czech republic between years 1993 - 2015

The aim of the thesis is to examine possible connections between economic results of public budgets, especially the most important part-state budget, and the course of the political cycle in Czech republic between years 1993 and 2015. The theoretical part is based on the Public choice theory, Theory of public finance and Political-business cycle theory. The practital part focuses on analysis of political situation in each political cycle and then on association with public and state budgets revenues and expenditures, their growth rate and the business cycle. Results of the analysis show that deficits of state budget are predominantly structural based. Moreover, a tendency to influence election results through released fiscal policy is also noticeable in some political cycles, which is consistent with the political-business cycle theory.

Is a tax policy imposed on cigarettes in the context of the EU effective?

This thesis is based on the question, whether a taxation have an effect on consumption of cigarettes. At the first there was needed to find factors which affect the cigarettes consumption. These factors are socioeconomic status of the population or using regulatory politics for tobacco products. Analysis is based on estimation econometrics model of regression analysis on panel data set. The panel data set consist from information about member states of European union for years 2003 to 2015. The goal of the thesis is to find an answer whether the tax policy of member states in according to taxation of cigarettes is effective. It means whether taxation of cigarette have an impact on cigarettes consumption. The analysis show that the explanatory variable for taxation is statistically inefficient. That say that the level of taxation does not affect the cigarettes consumption.

Rental housing in the Czech republic

Práce je zaměřena na problematiku nájemního bydlení v České republice. V úvodu vymezuje pojem bytové politiky a jejích nástrojů. Dále rozebírá jednotlivé sektory nájemního bydlení. V kapitole věnované soukromému nájemnímu bydlení se zaobírá problémem regulace nájemného a občanskoprávní úpravou vztahů nájemníků a pronajímatelů. Pod kapitolu ?obecní bytový fond? je začleněn problém privatizace, příspěvku na bydlení a sociálního bydlení. Do oddílu věnovanému družstevnímu bydlení jsou zahrnuty formy státní podpory a formy financování družstevních bytů. Na závěr se práce pokouší o určitý přehled o tom, jakých forem může nájemní bydlení nabývat v jiných evropských zemích.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou dokumentů Zvláštní správní oblasti Čínské lidové republiky - Macao v oblasti kulturní politiky za období od předání tohoto území zpět Číně do dneška. V první části se věnuje shrnutí současné společenské, ekonomické, politické a kulturní situace v Macao a na základě faktů a pozorování analyzuje současné otázky v oblasti rozvoje kulturního sektoru Macaa. V závěru se pokouší aplikovat do kulturního systému Macaa použitelné principy z kulturní politiky České republiky jakožto země s hlubokou kulturní tradicí. Práce se snaží nacházet rozdíly a podobnosti mezi situací a kulturní politikou České republiky a Macaa, a tato zjištění použít jako inspiraci pro rozvoj kultury v Macao.

The Development of Local Government in the Municipality of Starý Plzenec

This diploma thesis deals with the development of local government in the Municipality of Starý Plzenec, which is located in the Pilsen Region. The main task of the first part (Theoretical background) is a public administration with a focus on the basic territorial administrative unit. Furthermore, it discusses the municipal election system, pays attention to the communal party spectrum and the phenomenon of independence. It also describes the communal political coalition and the typology of local models of democracy. The second part (Practical part) represents the Municipality of Starý Plzenec, its development and basic demographic data. It analyses the economic activity in the Municipality, the character of the building and its budget. Besides that, it compares the results of local elections since 1994 and deals with the current local politicians, the style of local policy and assigns the Municipality to a model democracy.

Political Aspeckts of Local Government – Comunal Elections and Preferential Voting

The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part introduces and explains basic concepts of local politics, with detail characteristic of municipalities, municipal elections and preferential voting. This part is also concerned with research of local politics by published expert articles. This part is researched through the legislation and political expert literature.
The practical part is focused on demographicaland socioeconomical description of district Benešov. The main part of thesis is the analysis of the voting results in the local elections of the municipalities in the district Benešov in 2014, particularly the preferred votes of candidates aspiring to gain a political seat with a mandate .
