Anticancer immunotherapy based on the installation of mannose on the surface of tumor cells
MAIEROVÁ, Veronika
The aim of this thesis was to find optimal therapy based on combination of membrane-anchored phagocytic ligands (mannose-(G)5-(K)10-STE, mannan-BAM, mannan-SMCC) with LPS (ligand of signal receptor)for treatment of murine melanoma B16-F10. Mixture of mannan-BAM with LPS applied in pulse regime proved to be the most effective, resulting in heigh reduction of tumor growth and significant prolongation of survival.

Total two-year evaluation (2009 - 2010)of pilot project examination of thyroid gland function in group of pregnant women
Řehoř, Jiří ; Springer, Drahomíra (advisor) ; Límanová, Zdeňka (referee)
In the years 2009 and 2010 the pilot project investigating the function of the thyroid gland took place in 13 cities of the Czech Republic. In the context of the screening of congenital developmental defects the levels of TSH, FT4 and anti-TPO in serum were by women in the first trimester of pregnancy investigated, after signing informed consent. For the determination of analytes there were different analyzers used, which laboratories possess and are able to carry out the necessary examinations. Most of analyzers the reference intervals for TSH, FT4 and anti-TPO has set up from the manufacturer. These reference intervals are suitable for the normal population, neither less for pregnant women. Data from this project was evaluated using the newly calculated reference intervals for pregnant women, which are for the group of investigated women much more appropriate. From the total file of 3,484 pregnant women, it was thanks to these new reference intervals captured about 100 pregnant women with increased levels of TSH more, than in the use of reference intervals of producers. The comparison of reference intervals from the manufacturer with the newly calculated reference intervals for pregnant women managed to surface FT4 to find out about 126 more women below the surface of the new reference interval, than...

Morphological changes of sensory taste buds in pacient with cleft lip and palate
Straková, Kristina ; Dušková, Markéta (advisor)
The theme of my thesis morphological changessensory taste receptors in patients with cleftlip and palate, we chose based on its long-term interestthe field of plastic surgery. Cleft lip and palate defects areintegral part of this industry and one of the most interestingtopics that address this subject. The total rehabilitation of patients with cleft requiresmultidisciplinary treatment that begins immediately after birth andlasts into adulthood. The comprehensive treatment gradually, inDepending on the postnatal development, health and growthvictim, involved in a specialized team, whose base isplastic surgeon, dentist (orthodontist, maxillofacialsurgeon, dental surgeon and prosthetist), speech therapist, phoniatrist, audiologist andFinally, a clinical psychologist.Due to congenital defect area and centrofaciálníthe complexity of treatment failure also can assume the function of language, particular taste. This assumption is supported by the fact that the averagenumber of operations of the defect number reaches 4.8. Orthodontic treatmentapparatuses lasts from early childhood to prosthetic reconstructionin early adulthood. In addition, patients suffer from frequent otitis media, upper and lower respiratory tract infections and allergies. All of thesefactors can affect the function of language, particularly the...

Laboratory Study of Field Ion Emission from Dust Grain
Jeřáb, Martin
Title: Laboratory study of field ion emission from dust grains Author: Martin Jeřáb Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Jana Šafránková, DrSc., KFPP Abstract: Dust particles are common objects in space environment. As a dust particles, we call objects with typical sizes of several atoms up to approximately 100 µm. However, a total mass of dust particles is only about 1% of total mass of our galaxy, the presence of dust particles significantly affects environment. The most interesting is dynamics of dust particles and attached dust charging processes. The presented thesis consists of two main parts. The first part deals with the experimental study of field ion emission. Our measurements have been performed using gold and carbon spherical dust grains. It has been found that during the charging of dust particle using ion gun are the primary ions implanted under the surface of the dust particle from where they are release in the form of neutral gas. This releasing of implanted ions affects field ion emission for several hours. The second part of the thesis describes a development of new experimental apparatus determined to the study of photoemission dust charging and con- sequently to the "true" field ion emission study. Keywords: dust, dusty plasmas, charging properties, field...

Effect of long-term application of morphine on opioid receptors in rat brain cortex
Jeřábková, Kateřina ; Hejnová, Lucie (advisor) ; Roubalová, Lenka (referee)
-5- ABSTRACT A huge effort has been put in determining the mechanism of the development of tolerance and dependence in context of clinical use of morphine for treatment of severe pain. Understanding of this mechanism would help to design new and more efficient pharmaceuticals. This diploma paper discus the opiate receptors with a special focus on long-term effect of chronic morphine treatment, which was determined using a radioligand binding assays with a non-selective antagonist [3 H]Diprenorphine. One of the goals of this work was to create and optimise a method for preparation of pure plasma membranes from rat cortex using percoll gradient. There were five groups, which differed in the length of morphine treatment: ten days (M-10), twenty-eight days (M-28), ten days with seven days of regression (RM-10 twenty-eight days with seven days of regression (RM-28) and a control group (K). The loss of total opioid receptor number was noticeable after ten days and grew slightly during continuous morphine treatment and kept lowering in the period of regression. The total loss was approximately 30% of the control binding. The equilibrium dissociation constant (Kd), thus the affinity of [3 H]Diprenorphine wasn't significantly different among the groups. Morphine acts through µ-opioid receptor, that's why there was a...

Survey of patiens treated for fracture of the produmal humerus in the zdar 2005
Urban, Jiří ; Frič, Vladimír (advisor)
The topic of his thesis , A survey of patients treated for fractures in the proximal humerus in 2005 I chose based on your interests the field of orthopedics and traumatology . Fractures of the proximal humerus are among the four most common fracture. In 2005, the Department of Orthopaedics - Traumatology Clinic FNKV treated a total of 224 cases of these fractures. While the treatment of stable and minimally displaced fractures is quite unproblematic and can handle and conservative treatment of unstable , vícefragmentových and fracture-dislocations is complicated and still not fully resolved traumatology . The aim of this work was to evaluate patients treated at the Orthopedic - Traumatology Clinic FNKV for fractures of the proximal humerus in 2005. I started out a questionnaire that was completed by the attending physician for each fracture separately. The questionnaire asked for age and sex of the patient , the circumstances of the accident, type fracture, method of treatment , indications and types of operations

Possibility to use Coarse Woody Debris after renaturation
Hapštáková, Barbora ; Zímová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Luboš, Luboš (referee)
The aim of this work was to determine the objective possibilities for eventual utilization of timber felling process, incurred during the planned excavation of the woods before surface mining. The catchment area plan under consideration is located on the northeastern outskirts of the city Duchcov builds on the current mined deposit oxyhumolit in a former quarry Vaclav. Acquired current knowledge about the usage of dead wood in ecosystems are the basis for the application of the proposal a new method of disposal of residues after deforestation before the actual mining raw material, leaving residues after felling in the area. This method was preferred over chipping or complete removal of material from the site. Total has been so designed three study areas on which will take place targeted gradual decomposition of dead wood, is wearing all issues that this process belongs. The benefit of this work is the application of the proposed method of disposal of organic residues from logging, especially relatively large therefore based broukoviště Tim settlement habitats different species of invertebrates other species of animals, plants hub. The proposed method offers the possibility of further long-term exploration of the site.

Artificial neural networks and their application in the assessment of insurance risks
Macek, Karel ; Jiroutek, Pavel (referee) ; Mrázová, Iveta (advisor)
The present work studies applicability of artificial neural networks in the assessment of insurance risk. Structure and function of multilayer perceptrons, Kohonen maps, Fuzzy ART networks, and Fuzzy ARTMAP networks are described. Concept of insurance risk is defined and the ratemaking by generalized linear models is introduced. Neural networks' methods for reduction of input space's dimension, knowledge extraction, and visualization are summed up. Data describing traffic accidents are acquainted and results achieved on them are presented. The work successfully demonstrates theoretically and experimentally that multilayer perceptrons approximate better than generalized linear models. Modification of multilayer perceptron estimated distribution function of total claim. Analysis performed by Kohonen map and by subsequent visualization detected two significant clusters. Analysis by Fuzzy ART network is presented as a part of new algorithm for reduction of input space's dimension. New algorithm inspired by Fuzzy ARTMAP network discovered a group of accidents where the claim is above average. This group is delimited by interpretable rules. Attached CD contains scripts for Matlab and MySQL that was used for mentioned analyses.

Geometry on GPU
Fromek, Daniel ; Ambrož, David (referee) ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor)
Today's GPUs, thanks to their performance and programmability (this property wasn't available until recently), are a promising tool for performing geometric computations in computer graphics. But differences between GPUs and CPUs cause a number of complications when adapting particular algorithms. Some of them are even easier to implement on GPU then on CPU, for others it is more difficult and some of them are totally unsuitable for GPU. This thesis studies ways how to employ GPU in computations regarding some well known types of curves and surfaces. Main focus is on area of subdivision surfaces, which are often used in today's computer graphics modeling, because they are very powerful tool. Part of this thesis is an implementation of algorithm for GPU that constructs subdivision surfaces using Catmull-Clark scheme. Results show us that GPU can perform these computations much faster than CPU, proving GPU to be handful tool when performing computer graphics geometric computations.
