Recent developments of the Czech lexicon, notably in economic terminology
Nowak, Filip ; Čermák, František (advisor) ; Holub, Jan (referee)
Economics is ranked among the most popular sciences of Today. It is not only the experts who consider economics; non-professional economists do it as well. Economy influences our daily lives and we have a major piece on its development and on the language that describe it. This situation causes the occurrence of some anomalies among economic terms, tendency to use unusual linguistic means on purpose to catch reader's attention or because of natural motivation of well-known matters lying beyond the economic field. This diploma thesis tries to highlight some of those phenomenons. The research takes its stand on the technical economic studies data from the electronic database of Czech National Corpus (Český národní korpus), which allows to determine their frequency as well. The attention is paid mainly to the most typical model in Czech terminology: adjective - noun, noun - adjective, where in addition to semantic, functional classification and frequency, the metaphoric and metonymic motivation or their pragmatic sides are delimitated. There is an effort to classify the metaphoric and metonymic collocations that occurred in the random text sample into semantic categories. Naturally, there is an outline of terminology and metaphors matters as well. The quantitative results are attached in the tables related to...

Appreciatve suffixation in spanish and strategy of its translation
ŠINDELÁŘOVÁ, Kateřina
The bachelor thesis describes possible translations of some diminutives and augmentatives and compares the frequency of the use of these translations on the basis of their occurance in The Czech national corpus. The drama "Yoshitsune and the thousand cherry trees." Minamoto No Yoshitsune as a martial strategist, courtier and literary myth.
Ryndová, Jana ; Švarcová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Rumánek, Ivan (referee) ; Tirala, Martin (referee)
In her doctoral thesis the author would like to present the play Yoshitsune and the Thousand Cherry trees (Yoshitsune senbonzakura) as a unique piece of Japanese drama which has a great complexity and an outstanding place within the corpus of Japanese literature. Even if the play can be compared to Chushingura mono in its importance, Yoshitsune senbonzakura has not been widely translated to western languages. There are two exceptions, however: the English translation (Jones, Jr. 1993) and the German translation (Klopfenstein 1982). While comparing the two translations and using the most full original texts available (as preserved in Takeda Izumo and Namiki Sosuke Joruri Collection and Yuda Yoshio's Bunraku Joruri Collection), the author's goal is to present the play to Czech readers and its interpretation to Czech scholars. As for the flow and structure of the interpretation of Yoshitsune senbonzakura the author begins with the historical background of the legend of Minamoto Yoshitsune, capturing the life of Yoshitsune from the time of Heiji rebellion (1159) when he was born to his death in 1189. Next the author concentrates on the legend itself as it evolved within the course of Japanese literature. With a shift from the court literature of Heian period towards the battlefield stories and...

Using Stratego/XT for Generation of Software Connectors
Malohlava, Michal
Software connectors are used in component based systems as a special entities modeling and realizing component interactions. Besides this behavior, connectors can provide extra functionality and benefits (e.g. logging, adaptation, monitoring). This approach requires generation of connector code with respect to requirements of components, a target environment and features specified at the design stage. In this thesis we show how to extend the existing connector generator [33] by the Stratego/XT transformation engine, which includes a language for implementing program transformations and a collection of transformation tools. We use the toolset to realize a simple method of defining connector implementation, which is use as a template for a process of generation source code.

Source codes similarity evaluation
Vodsloň, František ; Dokulil, Jiří (referee) ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor)
Purpose of this work is to create an application for source codes similarity measuring. The main purpose of this software is to help user with searching for plagiarism in set of source files. The application will also contain database of uploaded source fi les. User will be able to upload source les into database and compare them with each other, using various criterions and settings. The application is intended mainly for teachers and lectors, who can use it as an useful tool for simpli cation of plagiarism detection in set of homeworks or semestral works.

The relationship between picture and text in photojournalism
Polmanová, Magda ; Lábová, Alena (advisor) ; Šoltys, Otakar (referee)
This essay deals with the ethics of news photographs, specifically the relationship between an image and a text. The theoretical part summarizes the relationship between a news image and a text in general and points out the ethically problematic areas associated with it. It focuses on human perception of an image and describes the principle called Gestalt, which defines the relationship between an image and a text. It deals with the criteria by which it is possible to determine the ethics of the relationship between an image and a text and explores this relationship in terms of language. Based on the theoretical part, the author examines how the principal of changing the meaning of pictures by a text, or vice versa, is used in news photos of Mladá fronta Dnes and Hospodářské noviny, in editions of March 2011. The author then applies a created theory based on the meanings of words to specific examples and describes the ethical shortcomings of the newspaper in this area.

Birthday problem
Drápal, Lukáš ; Anděl, Jiří (advisor) ; Dostál, Petr (referee)
In the presented work we discuss the birthday problem with unlike probabilities. First, we introduce the concept of majorization of vectors, Schur convexity of functions and Bell polynomials. Using these concepts we show the results from papers [6] and [8]. We also discuss the paper [7] and we point out its error. Then we present a program in language R that is simulating the problem. We use this program to calculate the probability for the true birthday problem in the Czech Republic and the effect of leap years. Finally, we show some applications of the birthday problem, especially the true surname problem in Japan [8].

Analysis of the Indicators of the DEZA, a. s. Company Using Time Series
Kratochvíl, Bohumír ; Doubravský,, Karel (referee) ; Kropáč, Jiří (advisor)
In his final paper, the author examines and evaluates the statistical indexes of chemical factory DEZA, a. s. that have certain environmental aspects. The analysis itself is based on theoretical findings related to the regressive analysis and time series. Furthermore, the author designed an application in Visual Basic programming language that automatically solves math problems introduced in the final paper. The author also introduces a suggestion on how to improve the company's image.
