Deploying Virtual Servers for ISP
Zelený, Jan ; Michal, Bohumil (referee) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis describes principals of virtualization based on the Xen project. Text focuses mainly on putting system into service for purpose of it's subsequent use by ISPs. The goal of this work is also to explore the possible usages of virtualized systems based on the Xen by ISPs. One of these possibilities will be specified to the point when it will by usable or it will be able to be developed independently of author of this work. This work also designs and mostly implements system, which can be used as a base for wide spectrum of of services, when installing these services doesn't effect the rest of the system.
Virtualization of energy infrastructure
Hraboš, Šimon ; Stodůlka, Tomáš (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
This work describes the virtualization process, virtualization tools and virtualization automation. The work also deals with the description of energy infrastructure, KYPO cyber range platform and DLMS/COSEM protocol used in energy. The practical part deals with the virtualization of energy infrastructure using OpenStack and KYPO cyber range platforms. A virtual environment was created using Vagrant application. The OpenStack and KYPO cyber range platforms were subsequently installed in this environment. Next, a sandbox definition was created. The sandbox definition creates a scenario with an energy infrastructure using KYPO platform. The functionality of the energy infrastructure was verified using the Gurux DLMS library.
CDN and clustering in GNU/Linux with performance testing
Mikulka, Pavel ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Fault tolerance is essential in a production-grade service delivery network. One of the solution is build a clustered environment to keep system failure to a minimum. This thesis examines the use of high availability and load balancing services using open source tools in GNU/Linux. The thesis discusses some general technologies of high availability computing as virtualization, synchronization and mirroring. To build relatively cheap high availability clusters is suitable DRDB tool. DRDB is tool for build synchronized Linux block devices. This paper also examines Linux-HA project, Redhat Cluster Suite, LVS, etc. Content Delivery Networks (CDN) replicate content over several mirrored web servers strategically placed at various locations in order to deal with the flash crowds. A CDN has some combination a request-routing and replication mechanism. Thus CDNs offer fast and reliable applications and services by distributing content to cache servers located close to end-users. This work examines open-source CDNs Globule and CoralCDN and test performance of this CDNs in global deployment.
Application for automatic control of CISCO device configuration
Zbořil, Tomáš ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Kubánková, Anna (advisor)
The problem of mismatched running configurations on the networking devices is common and it is not always easy to troubleshoot. Another problem of the same scale is an analysis of the routing information in routers, its heterogeneity in terms of dynamic routing protocols, numerous various settings, and last but not least, management of these protocols. These problems require a software solution that would be helpful in analysis and would allow for automated addressing of problems found during the analysis. This master's thesis attempts to do this by designing and implementing such program for the protocol OSPFv2. It uses the SSH protocol to allow for retrieval of running configuration files from the devices and their comparison to the user-added configuration files. SSH protocol is also used to run commands on the devices and to gather their outputs, which are subsequently analysed. The output of the analysis is used in automated error correction, the correctness of which, is checked by the presence of the routes on the routers to the rest of the network.
IT Infrastructure Enhancement through a Server Virtualization
Stančík, Michal ; Otáhal, Petr (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
The thesis aims on a proposal of server infrastructure utilization within a particular organization based on a virtual environment. Analysis of current company’s IT infrastructure was chosen as a starting point for subsequent draft of suitable server consolidation solution that includes all necessary aspects from server configuration up to virtual environment conversion itself. Price calculation and benefits of proposed solution are listed at the end of the thesis.
Virtualization of Public Administration Institute
Štěpánek, Ondřej ; Janoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Neuwirth, Bernard (advisor)
This thesis deals with the virtualization of servers and computer workstations, which has recently been the cornerstone of modern data centers. The practical part is focused on selecting the most appropriate solutions for specific problems in the implementation of virtualization administration. At the same time the present work evaluates the possibility for other organizations.
Proposal for Optimization of Servers Using Virtualization and Consolidation
Havelka, Ondřej ; Sedlák, Petr (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
The purpose of master's thesis is preparing the proposal for optimization of servers using virtualization and consolidation. The master's thesis is divided into three parts. The first one is engaged theoretical ground of computer network, second part analyses the current state of IT infrastructure within the specific business. The last part contains the proposal to modernization and optimization of existing server solution including summary of expected costs for realization od proposal.
Virtual Access to Nodes in PlanetLab
Fic, Jiří ; Matoušek, Petr (referee) ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (advisor)
PlanetLab as a distributed systems testbed offers a unique opportunity for developing and testing new applications useful for future Internet. This work brings up a scheme and a solution of the problem with accessing PlanetLab by a larger group of students e.g. for the purpose of solving their courseworks. A designed system empowers its administrator to create and control virtual user accounts which provide possibility for all its users to connect to selected nodes in the PlanetLab.
Design of Virtualization and Consolidation of Servers
Kočíbová, Iveta ; Satola, Richard (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
This Bachelor Thesis focuses on the application of virtualization in environment branch of the international company. It analyzes the IT infrastructure in the organization and trying to find the best possible solution for upgrading existing infrastructure. Thesis also analyses an overview of available virtualization technologies and compares them. The main part of Thesis is aimed at implementation of the most appropriate solution and evaluating the benefits of solution for the company. Finally, it outlines possible development in the future.
Virtualization of I/O Operations in Computer Networks
Remeš, Jan ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Matoušek, Denis (advisor)
This work deals with virtualization of computer systems and network cards in high-speed computer networks, and describes implementation of the SR-IOV virtualization technology support in the COMBO network card platform. Various approaches towards network card virtualization are compared, and the benefits of the SR-IOV technology for high performance applications are described. The work gives overview of the COMBO platform and describes design and implementation of the SR-IOV technology support for the COMBO platform. The work concludes with measurement and analysis of the implemented technology performance in virtual machines. The result of this work is the COMBO cards' support for the SR-IOV technology, which makes it possible to use them in virtual machines with wire-speed performance preserved. This allows future COMBO cards to be used as accelerators in the networks utilizing the Network Function Virtualization.
