Hardware Acceleration of Algorithms for Approximate String Matching
Nosek, Ondřej ; Kořenek, Jan (referee) ; Martínek, Tomáš (advisor)
Methods for aproximate string matching of various sequences used in bioinformatics are crucial part of development in this branch. Tasks are of very large time complexity and therefore we want create a hardware platform for acceleration of these computations. Goal of this work is to design a generalized architecture based on FPGA technology, which can work with various types of sequences. Designed acceleration card will use especially dynamic algorithms like Needleman-Wunsch and Smith-Waterman.

The work deals with modernization of an automobile starter. In first and second part, we can find the analysis of types of starters according to construction and the analysis of gear of a starter. In third part, there is the analysis of electromagnetic layout of direct current motor with permanent magnets according to given parameters which is the gear of given starter.
Design of an additional laying device for the application of GlasGrid® glass geogrid rolls
Mikl, Marek ; Jaščevskij, Václav (referee) ; Zeizinger, Lukáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of an additional device for the application of glass grid rolls GlasGrid® and functional calculations. Diploma thesis was created in collaboration with company Saint-Gobain ADFORS. The designed equipment must be able to lay all the currently produced sizes of the rolls, connectable to the widest possible range of laying machines and must be possible to transport the equipment over a longer distance. The laying equipment must also comply with the strength analysis and functional calculations.
Lighting systems in off-grid applications
Lengyel, Ladislav ; Škoda, Jan (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
Aim of the master's thesis is at first to explain appropriate light sources and lighting systems; secondly present suitable light sources selection for lighting a small space and design of an off-grid system. The last part consists of an overview about alternative energy transformations to light energy. The first of these three major themes focuses on the analysis of light sources suitable for use in applications with accumulation together with data on energy efficiency and the utilization efficiency associated with them, concentrating on their consumption and possible energy saving lighting within small applications. It ends with a description and calculations of electricity energy indicators for different types of rooms. The second and main part of the thesis is focusing on suitable light sources selection for off-grid systems and impacts on humans and the environment associated with it. An object representing a small application has been created in RELUX® software with suitable light sources installed in it. For this scene, appropriate parts of off-grid systems were selected, which could be used to power the proposed lighting. The last theme consists of a brief about alternative sources, most of which are still in development or existing only at a theoretical level. All of these alternative sources are having a possible application in the future.
Indemnity of a commercial agent and determination of its amount
Prusáková, Viktorie ; Flídr, Jan (advisor) ; Patěk, Daniel (referee)
Indemnity of a commercial agent and determination of its amount Abstract Agents play a crucial role for companies by facilitating business activities and building customer relationships. Commercial agency introduces several legal and economic questions, in particular remuneration of agents, both during the course of the agency and after its termination. Following the termination of a commercial agency agreement, the question often arises as to how to fairly determine the amount of indemnity to be paid to agents for their past work. The aim of this thesis is to provide a detailed description and explanation of the calculation method for the agent's indemnity and to translate theoretical knowledge gathered from legal theory and case law into practice. The thesis seeks to propose a calculation procedure for the agent's indemnity that is simple, efficient, and allows the parties involved in the agency agreement to avoid the common occurrence of legal disputes in this area. The first part of the thesis focuses on defining basic concepts associated with commercial agency and legal framework governing it. The second part follows, dedicated to the remuneration of the commercial agent. The third chapter then delves into special indemnity for an agent, including its definition, challenges, and legal regulations. The...
Sheeting of foundation pit
Šajuk, Mykola ; Kliš, Lumír (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis describes the design and static assessment of the excavation of the construction pit realized for the construction of the Homole tunnel of the D35 Ostrov – Vysoké Mýto highway section. The introductory part of the work summarizes the basic input information about the location of interest, including the outputs of the engineering-geological survey, and provides an overview of the possibilities of securing construction pits. The core part of the work describes the design, assessment and economic evaluation of three selected variants of the stocking, subsequent evaluation of the results of the selection of the most suitable variant. The resulting structure is supplemented with drawing documentation, which is part of the annex.
Development of Algorithm for Computational Modelling of Pivoted-Pad Journal Bearings
Pokorný, Jan ; Křupka, Ivan (referee) ; Šimek,, Jiří (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
The presented work deals with the calculation of stiffness and damping coefficients of hydrodynamic tilting-pad journal bearings. For this reason, a computational model of static and dynamic characteristics of these bearings is developed. The calculation is based on the solution of the generalized Reynolds equation simultaneously with the 2D energy equation for both the lubricant film and the pads. As a result, the changes in viscosity and density of the lubricant across the film thickness can be considered. The effect of turbulence is reflected by correction factors. Other influences, such as lubricant mixing, deformation and tilting of the pads, are also included in the calculation. The numerical solution using the finite volume method is programmed in Python. The static equilibrium position of the bearing is found by the efficient bounded Anderson method, which was chosen after comparison with other selected methods. Based on the equilibrium position of the bearing, the stiffness and damping are calculated using the central difference method with the inclusion of flexibility of the pivots. The results of static and dynamic characteristics of the bearing of the selected parameters are presented. Furthermore, the obtained results of the calculations are verified with experimental data taken from the literature and also with in-house measurements. A good agreement between calculations and experiments has been achieved.
