Analysis of the causes and solutions proposed to tram transport delays from the transport and construction point of view
Kopecký, Vojtěch ; Svoboda, Richard (referee) ; Valehrach, Jan (advisor)
The thesis Analysis of the causes and solutions proposed to tram transport delays from the transport and construction point of view focuses on the issue of delays and speed drops in tram transport, especially on the causes of their occurrence and ways of their elimination. The thesis examines the current state of the Brno tram system, with a focus on the slowing elements in the system and the locations with frequent delays, including what causes these delays. The thesis also examines the possibilities of speeding up tram transport both from the point of view of transport and from the point of view of track layout. In the final part of the thesis, selected sections of the Brno tram system are analysed in more detail and on the basis of these analyses, measures are proposed that lead to the acceleration of tram transport and the elimination of delays that occur in it.
Network tester
Štainer, Martin ; Člupek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is the issue of network parameters measuring. Measurement methodology and tester concept were designed. Based on the designed tester concept a plugin for Apache JMeter was implemented. Two experimental tests were run based on the methodology designed, with their objectives set to explore the difference in performance between QUIC and TCP protocols.
Analysis of the dependence of communications services to the delay and QoS optimization
Schön, Martin ; Číka, Petr (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis discusses wireless network standards 802.11a/b/g/n. First part explains basic principles of networks and media access. Next the standard IEEE 802.11, general QoS parameters and their application in wireless networks, according to standard 802.11e are analyzed. Second part of the thesis verifies the acquired knowledge in simulating program Opnet - effects of the delay, jitter and packet loss on VoIP call are tested. In the last part of the thesis a network for video streaming has been designed. The video was streamed in different qualities and the influence of other network traffic (with and without the support of QoS) on the video streaming was tested.
Analysis of the communication path attributes for IP geolocation
Rajnoha, Martin ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Balej, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to study current resources to find location of stations in the network Internet, mainly active methods that are based on delay measurements. Describe origin of the delay and its parts. Next create an application that is able remotely measure the delay between stations and convert this delay to distance. Aplication calculate geographic position of station on based this distances. For measurement was used experimental network PlanetLab.
Temperature Dependence of PMD
Drábek, Jakub ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
Bacherol thesis describes the problems of polarization mode dispersion-PMD. Size of the delay PMD is a random variable that varies in time. When operating at high data rate communication links is one of the major problem of the optical fiber. PMD value affects many different environmental influences as temperature, and therefore the measurement of PMD become standard in deploying high-speed optical networks.
Use of optical cable properties for geolocation in the Internet
Chmelař, Jakub ; Verner, Lukáš (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the IP geolocation which estimates the geographic location of hosts in the Internet network. The knowledge of geographic location can be used both for targeting specific services and information, such as advertisement or weather forecast, and for better utilization of transport network because it is possible to serve content from sources which are located closer to client. The main topic of this thesis is the Speed of Internet geolocation method (SOI), which is an active method based on measurement of latency in network. The theoretical part of the thesis explains how to perform these measurements and briefly describes a few more active geolocation methods. The practical part includes full description of SOI implementation created using Python programming language. This implementation was subsequently used to accomplish a sequence of measurements which allowed accuracy comparison with other geolocation methods. The final part of this thesis evaluates results of these measurements and offers a few possible changes which could improve accuracy of described implementation.
Representations of Solutions to Autonomous Linear Discrete Systems and Their Applications in the Control Theory
Audio Effect Design Based on Delay Line
Bilkovič, Ondrej ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Říha, Kamil (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the design and construct a commercial guitar delay stomp box, by implementing the analogue technology BBD. The thesis includes explanations of theoretical principles needed in order to design such device. The aim is also to elaborate on the process of designing the individual sections of the device and testing their properties, and testing the properties of the device as a whole.
Design of assessment methods for airport subsystem capacity
Londa, Jaroslav ; Chlebek, Jiří (referee) ; Veselý, Petr (advisor)
This thesis discusses the capacity of airport subsystems and describes various assessment methods of capacity including factors that affect it. The first part contains theoretical analysis of assessment methods for airport subsystems especially runway and terminal. The practical part deals with experimentation using the simulation software Visual Simmod. The objective of these experiments is to evaluate the effect of certain factors to runway operations and observe the change of aircraft delay over the capacity. In the end all simulation results are analyzed and shown in graphs.
VoIP and QoS
Kolmačka, Jan ; Křivánek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kovář, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis gives the basic information about the solution of a problem with Quality of Service in sequence with the VoIP telephony. In a few last years the VoIP technologies and basically the other multimedia applications have unbelievable grow. It is caused by a big demand internet user’s for the new interactive applications offering voice transfers and streaming video. These new habits bring quite big requests on networks from the side of QoS. That is why, it was necessary to develop new methods, which reach requested parameters of QoS in single categories. The first part discuss theoretically about protocols used in the VoIP telephony. The second part presents QoS, parameters of QoS and two basic methods for guarantee QoS. In the last part of the bachelor’s thesis is theoretically described the QoS support in Wi-Fi with the main aim on new technologies QoS reservation defined in the 802.11e. The following simulations and the results of the different settings parameters QoS are made by the powerful simulating software Opnet Modeler.
