Abstract: This thesis deals with the representation of Sebastian Ricci and his works in Czech collections. Initially, the work briefly describes the Baroque painting in Venice for the period Ricci's life that follows the life story of Sebastian and Marco Ricciových, which is associated with their mutual artistic collaboration as uncle and nephew. Last, but also an important part of this thesis is devoted to a catalog of works owned by Czech, Moravian Gallery and locks. Catalog also presents works on the same theme from foreign collections, the related question regarding Ricci authorship or the exact dating of the presented works in the catalog. Galileo Galilei and His Epoch

This thesis deals with the personality and life of the Tuscan Renaissance scientist Galileo Galilei, a time in which he lived, and his relationship with the Catholic Church. The aim of the thesis is to acquaint the reader with the life of Galileo Galilei and Renaissance society, and thus capture important moments and influences that shaped Galileo's personality and life orientation. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first part deals with the Renaissance period and the related European Reformation. It focuses on the Renaissance in Italy, then education, religious situation and seeing the world. The second chapter is dedicated to Galileo's biography, with regard to his work and then researchers who were with Galileo joint activity. The last part refers to the religious situation of 16th to 17th century, considering the Council of Trent, the Roman Inquisition and the cosmology of how the people regarded it in antiquity and later the Catholic Church and scientists in the early modern period. This part especially illustrates the conflict Galileo and the Church. It describes the reasons of the conflict, the trial of Galileo and the consequences that flowed from it. Piano Works of Vítězslava Kaprálová

The aim of my thesis is to present the personality of Vítězslava Kaprálová and her work both in a broad contemporary context and in connection with the events and turning points in various stages of her life, with which her work is closely linked. By the charachterization of nature and emotionaly tense moments in her life, I have tried to outline the specific of her musical way of expressing in particular creative stages. I pay much attention to piano creation that is the closest to me account that my field of study. A brief analysis of individual pieces is completed with music examples. The fourth chapter of the diploma thesis deals with interpretative issues of the composer's piano works. The most important artists of Mrs Kaprálová's work are presented in the conclusion.

Václav Jan Tomášek (1774-1850): Requiem in E flat Major from the Ledenice Parish Church

Václav Jan Tomášek (1774-1850) was an important figure of the Czech music history in the first half of the 19th century. His composition called Requiem Es dur was found at the choir loft of the church of St. Lawrence in Ledenice. This composition cannot be found in any list of Tomášek's works. The main aim of this thesis is to do an edition and analysis of this specific composition. Moreover, this work will be focused on Tomášek's relation to the South Bohemian region, as he used to be a music teacher of the counts of the family of Buquoy.

The work is focused on the old part of the town, where many monuments, buildings, walls, columns are marked by this art. The work presents graffiti in all its forms, both legal and illegal and tries to figure out where is the border between vandalism and art, then investigates the graffiti author's relationship to history, to other people's property, the attitudes of the population towards this subculture and the expression in spray. Postmodernism in British and American comics : postmodernist overtones in the works of Alan Moore and Grant Morrison

The aim of this thesis is the examination and analysis of postmodernist overtones in the medium of comics. It is concerned both with the postmodernist content in comics, and comics' possibilities and attributes as a postmodernist medium. The first part of the thesis elaborates on sequential art in general and the essential elements of postmodernism, such as deconstruction, metafiction, and intertextuality, within its context. The second part of the thesis is concerned with selected postmodernist works of prominent comicbook authors: Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is a gathering of facts about life and work of Václav Beneš Třebízský and a creation of overview that deals with frequency of publishing of his novels and stories in particular time periods. The next task is to analyse poetics of his works while using one of his novels. This part mostly focuses on a literary character. Its aspects are described with support of cited literature and the discovered knowledge is used to an analysis of the chosen novel.
