Steel Structure of Multipurpose Hall
Makiš, Daniel ; Balázs, Ivan (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
The subject of diploma thesis is design and static assessment of steel structure of multipurpose hall. Construction is located in the city Brno. The floor plan is rectangular with dimensions 60 x 80 m. Headroom of the structure is 12,5 m and total height is 16,5 m. A main frame is created of arch truss supported by column and truss structure on both sides. The main frames are joined by purlins. Final support structure was selected from two preliminary variants. For the selected variant was made static calculation of main bearing elements including joints and anchoring, technical report, drawings and bill of quantities.
Pavilion for Modern Arts
Hýblová, Kateřina ; Štrba, Michal (referee) ; Pilgr, Milan (advisor)
The assignment of my degree work was a proposal of two variants of the steel structure of a modern art exhibition hall. The ground plan dimensions of the structure are 52,5 x 24 m. The whole structure of the two variants is supported by two quadrilateral truss columns and the upper floor level is at a height of 8 m above the ground. The ceiling structure is set by the truss girders. The proposal of two alternative solutions and the assessment of the main structure support elements forms another part of the work. With a winning option then a solution of the selected details, working out of the detailed drawings of the solved joints and the creation of the workshop documentation of the selected parts is supposed.
Design of a Robotic Cell
Majer, Tomáš ; Pochylý, Aleš (referee) ; Kubela, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with design of a robotized workplace for welding truss structures. First, the target construction that the work focuses on is shown. Then the functions of the entire workplace are designed, including the procedures for activities and the gross displacement of the used components and their layout. The next chapter itemize specific robots and components. This, along with the solution of safety and ergonomics, makes the layout of the entire workplace more precise. Everything is completed by creating a simulation model in Siemens Tecnomatix Process Simulate, where all the welding operations are simulated.
Bruntál Fire station
Drahokoupilová, Nikola ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
The object of this Bachelor´s thesis is the design and the assessment of a supporting steel structure of the compound of sheltered parking for fire engines in the district of Bruntál. The main construction material is steel, grade S355. Ground plan proportions of the compound are 18,0 x 36,0 m, 8,87 m lenght. The roof is made in the rake angle of 3°. The supporting structure consists of columns and a truss girder. The axial distance of the cross links is 6 m. This thesis includes statistics calculation of the main loadbearing parts of the structure including joints and drawing documentation.
Trusses for Traffic Signes
Veselý, Radek ; Liškutín, Ivo (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis deals with design of the constrution of trusses structures for vertical large format traffic signes over two-lane and three lane road lane highway. Constructoin is made up of horizontal space truss construction and column of steel tubes. The calculatin was performed manualy using Scia Engineer 2013. Loading consists of self-weight and wind load.
Railway bridge with steel load-carrying structure
Šarmanová, Iveta ; Melcher, Jindřich (referee) ; Karmazínová, Marcela (advisor)
The subject of master’s thesis is a structural analysis of a bearing structure of an existing historical single-track railway bridge over the Vltava river in a direction from Prague Modřany to Vrané nad Vltavou. The riveted steel bridge carries rail traffic across five fields. A part of the master’s thesis is focused on a disposal of a variant of the longest field by using a modern arch construction.
Collection of solved problems from statics II
ŠIMANOVÁ, Petra
The thesis is intended as a brief teaching text for the course Technical Mechanics I at the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. It includes the following topics: truss structures, centre of gravity, passive resistances, friction, pulleys and pulley systems. The theory is supplemented by examples with annotated solutions, in the case of truss structures the numerical solution is accompanied by graphical solutions. The work can be used by the teachers of the subject in preparation for classes as well as by students in self-study or preparation for various exams or tests.
Lagrange multipliers in linear elastostatics
Ondášová, Annamária ; Květoň, Josef (referee) ; Eliáš, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the use of Lagrange multipliers, explaining the principle of their use and the calculating process. Lagrange multipliers are introduced into joints of a given truss structure. The calculation is conducted using minimalization of the potential energy and the principle of virtual work. Results are verified by direct elimination of the variables.
Rail bridge over river Váh between Nemšová and Trenčianska Teplá
Lezová, Lívia ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the design of a new steel structure of a single-track railway bridge with bottom bridge deck. The solved bridge construction is located on line No. 123 between Nemšová and Trenčianska Teplá at the point, where the line crosses over the river Váh. The existing bridge on the line has a span of 50 + 50 + 50 + 50 m. The assignment was processed in five variants of a steel bridge structure with a bottom orthotropic deck. Each variant has a different static system, a different number of fields and a different type of superstructure. The comparison of variants was performed using multicriterial evaluation based on selected criteria. The most suitable variant was elaborated in more detail. The calculations were performed according to valid ČSN EN standards.
Methods for topology optimization of mechanically loaded structures and their application on trusses
Pánek, Ondřej ; Lošák, Petr (referee) ; Ševeček, Oldřich (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a topology optimization of truss structures. In the first part of this thesis an overview of individual methods of the structural optimization and brief description of their principle based on recherche of available literature is given. The second part of the thesis deals with an application of selected methods to the topology optimization of truss structures, employing the computational codes programmed in the MATLAB software. In the first step, a code for computation of stresses in individual trusses and displacements in nodes of the truss structure by the finite element method was programmed. This code was later used in individual topology optimization codes for computation of parameters mentioned above. Selected topology optimization methods and their computational codes were then used for optimization of two model tasks – bridge and cantilever beam subjected to isolated forces, in order to reduce their weight while maintaining safety to the limit states of elasticity and buckling stability. At the end of the thesis, gained results were compared to results available in literature (nevertheless optimized as a continuum structure) and it can be concluded, that both these results are in a very good agreement.
