Analysis of activities of CzechTrade agency in selected markets

This Master Thesis analyses activities of the agency CzechTrade on Vietnamese market. Viet Nam is one of the perspective market for czech exporters not only for very well established business between Czech Republic and Viet Nam but also for a high growth potential of Vietnamese market. In today's globalised world, the institutional assistance and promotion is essential for foreign trade especially in a relative small economies. Countries today do not increase wealth only through trade but promote themselves as a brand, this subconsciously adds value to domestic enterprises and products. CzechTrade agency, as the implementation authority of Export Strategy, actively supports czech producers in foreign markets and help them compete internationally.

CzechTrade as the best investment for the shippers.

The aim of this thesis was to prove that availing services of the CzechTrade agency is a convinient investment for enterprisers and that the selected company do not have problems which are connected with the current economic crisis thanks to the possibilities of the state export assistance. The knowledge acquired in the theoretical part of the thesis was consequently the base for the practical part in which individual services were applied to the concrete company. This company affects so-called niche market which is characterized by certain specifics. The partial aim was to evaluate if availing services connected with the export assistance of the CzechTrade agency is beneficial for the company, and to decide if it is advantageous for the company to invest in its services in such way. The aim was also to point out which services worth availing and to find out if the company has preconditions for the extension of its influence on the foreign markets. The conclusion of the questionnaire investigation helped to find out how similar companies behave in this sphere and if these companies are interested in such an export assistance in general.

The analysis of the financial export of the selected business subject

The main objective of the diploma work was to analyze possibilities of export financing of chosen enterprise subject and to suggest optimal solution. Partial target was to draw up strategy of export support forms, export services and supportive programs for selected enterprise. Subject of this work is company FARMTEC, a. s., active in production of agricultural technology and its sale on Czech and foreign markets. Investment loan, overdraft financing and supplier credit are the prevailing sources of financing used by this company. As well cooperation with companies EGAP, ČEB and CzechTrade is maintained. Financing product TOP Export II offered by Česká spořitelna is found as the best solution for company FARMTEC, a. s. It comprises factoring financing. Further it is recommended to use a new against-crisis product currently offered by EGAP. It is proposed to present company in official address book of Czech export companies offered by CzechTrade.

Promotion of Czech exports

Marketing communications and current state of the Czech economy are also briefly described. The output of this thesis consists in a serie of changes the author suggests to realize in order to increase the efficiency of promoting activities realized by the Czech state.

Export assistance in Czech Republic with emphasis on Czech Export Bank

This thesis describes the possibilities of assistance Czech businesses have when deciding on expanding to foreign markets in order to provide a clear and comprehensive explanation of possibilities for the exporters and to evaluate the impact these possibilities have on the development of foreign trade and investments during the past years. The first part of the thesis deals with the export strategy and various institutions which provide assistance, the second part focuses on the role and products of Czech Export Bank as well as restrictions imposed by international institutions which apply to export assistance. The third and final part deals with evaluation and suggestions for the future possibilities of export assistance.

The following one informs about Czech institutions that are active in export promotion. The last one is engaged in activities of the CzechTrade Promotion Agency, mainly in activities of its foreign office in India and sums up the opportunities the Indian market offers to the exporters.

Institutional support for export in the Czech Republic

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to provide insight into the three main state institutions supporting export of the Czech Republic, which The Czech Trade Promotion Agency/CzechTrade, Czech Export Bank and the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation are. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The opening first chapter deals with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which performs a leadership role in the national pro-export policy. The second chapter is concerned with CzechTrade and its services for Czech exporters. The third chapter is focused on the Czech Export Bank, which is a specialized banking institution for the state export promotion. The fourth chapter refers to the Export Guarantee and Insurance Company, which is a credit insurance company in state ownership.

Export promotion activities of CzechTrade with a view to India

This bachelor thesis characterises activities of CzechTrade that help Czech exporters to break into foreign markets and concretely to India. The first chapter is concerned with the theory of export promotion policy, it describes mostly its instruments and institutions. The second chapter is dedicated to CzechTrade and services that are provided. The third chapter describes the territory of India, the development of bilateral relations and trade with the Czech Republic and perspectives, that Indian market brings to Czech exporters. The last part of the work is concerned with CzechTrade's international offices and concretely with the Indian office in Bombay. It mentions the most requested services for this territory and some examples of companies that succeeded in India.
