The quality of social services provision in homes for people with disabilities
Černá, Kateřina ; Bartoň, Daniel (advisor) ; Janečková, Hana (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Quality of social services in homes for people with disabilities", deals with homes for people with disabilities and characterizes them. Specifically, their activities, normative component, target group (people with disabilities) and overall how such a home for people with disabilities works and how it should look like. The next part of the thesis is focused on monitoring their quality through social services inspections and systematic visits by the ombudsman, because the quality of the service is crucial for this thesis (and for social work in general). After this theoretical view (one could say description of an ideal state), an analytical part follows, which compares the outlined essentials of the functioning of the service (according to the legislation and other regulations) with the actual state of the functioning of these services, which is based on detailed research by the Ombudsman from 2019. The analytical part also includes charts that come from this research, which are explained and described and individually evaluated on the basis of these findings. The entire analytical section is then reviewed and the most significant findings are highlighted. The result of the research shows that the situation in homes for people with disabilities is still not ideal. Some of the...
The foreign policy of the United States of America towards Nicaragua after the Cuban Revolution
Černá, Kateřina ; Perutka, Lukáš (advisor) ; Raška, Francis (referee)
This thesis examines the foreign policy of the United States towards Nicaragua between 1961-1973. When the John F. Kennedy administration took office in 1961, there was concern about developments in Cuba and, in particular, the possibility of a similar fate in Latin American countries. This concern gave rise to the largest foreign aid program up to that time, the Alliance for Progress. Although it was a comprehensive aid scheme taking into account both economic and social issues, the results of the Alliance were contradictory. Nicaragua was a case in point. This paper uses the case study method to explain the results of the Alliance for Progress using Nicaragua as an example. By synthesizing literary sources and secondary literature, the various objectives of the Alliance for Progress are evaluated. The first part of the thesis examines the political situation of the United States both domestically and globally. The second part of the thesis describes the nature of the Alliance for Progress, the fulfilment of its goals, and the implications for the people of the Republic of Nicaragua. The thesis concludes that in the case of Nicaragua, the Alliance for Progress succeeded in the economic sphere. However, the vast majority of social issues remained unresolved and the Alliance's main objective, to...
Interspecific and intraspecific variation in gastrointestinal microbiota composition of parrots and its association with incidence of selected disorders
Černá, Kateřina ; Vinkler, Michal (advisor) ; Rychlík, Ivan (referee)
Captive parrots are susceptible to various digestive, metabolic, and behavioural disorders. Recent research in other vertebrates has suggested that these disorders can be linked to the gut microbiota, directly or through the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Although many commercial probiotic products intended for the use in parrots advertise beneficial effects on digestion and mental well- being, these statements are not sufficiently supported with publicly available scientific evidence, but probably rather based on the extrapolation of the knowledge of microbiota-gut-brain interactions in poultry, mice, and humans. However, there are substantial differences in the gastrointestinal tract morphology and gut microbiota composition between parrots and these model vertebrates. This thesis aimed to describe the interspecific and intraspecific variation in the gut microbiota composition of parrots and to link the variation in microbial communities to the incidence of eight selected behavioural and physiological disorders. The gut microbiota composition of 491 individuals from 85 parrot species was analysed using 16S rRNA metabarcoding. The host species, type of feed, and housing environment were identified as the main factors influencing the diversity and composition of the gut microbiota of parrots. A...
Evaluation of the Financial Situation of a Company and Proposals for its Improvement
Černá, Kateřina ; Ohniště,, Martin (referee) ; Bartoš, Vojtěch (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of the financial situation of TRANSBETON s. r. o. and proposals for its improvement. For the evaluation I used the financial analysis that I prepared for the years 2017-2021. In the theoretical part I described the financial analysis in general, its methods and indicators, which are then used in the analytical part. The analytical part contains the current state of the company and the execution of the analysis, ending with a SWOT analysis. At the end, own suggestions for improving the financial situation of the company are recommended.
The influence of the working environment on the performance of employees in services
ČERNÁ, Kateřina
The diploma thesis deals with the influence of the working environment on the performance of employees in services. The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the impact of the working environment on the performance of employees in a selected company providing services with emphasis on ergonomics and, as a result of indentifying any shortco-mings to propose steps to improve it. Ergnonomics aspects that influence satisfaction with the current situation that prevails in the workplace in a selected company are examined. The theoretical part is focused on ergonomic factors that are important for empoyees in the work environment and that significantly affect it. The practical part is focused on the evaluation of the current situation in the company and proposals that aim to improve the physical characteristics of employees, but also to increase their motivation and satisfaction in the company. For individual proposals, there is a cost calculation that the company can use in case of interest in their implementation.

The aim of this thesis was to develop and optimize the packing of a new series of chromatographic columns called Astra with subsequent analytical measurements to determine the quality of optimized packing processes, the quality of the columns and to investigate the behavior of stationary phases. The packing processes for the following columns were developed and optimized - Astra C18 HE, AQ and DM 5 µm (250/150/100×4,6 mm, 150/100×3,0 mm), Astra C18-HE 3 µm (250/150/100×4,6 mm) , 150/100/50×3,0 mm, 150/100/75/50×2,1 mm), Astra AQ 3 µm (150/100×4,6 mm, 150/100/50x3,0 mm, 150/100/75/50×2,1 mm), Astra DM 3µm (150/100×4,6 mm, 150/100x3,0 mm, 150/100/50×2,1 mm) and for zwitterionic columns 3µm (150×4,6 mm, 100×2,1 mm). During the development of the packing processes, the following packing parameters were optimized. Composition of the suspension solution (slurry) - cyclohexanol:chloroform (1:10) for SF C18, AQ, DM and glycerin:methanol (1:3) for zwitterionic SF; concentration of the packing suspension; column pre-filling method - pre-filling with packing liquid (methanol); PID parameters, the values P = 3000, I = 100 and D = 100 were chosen; width of the pre-column, which must be equal to or greater than the inside diameter of the column; packing pressure and time; the column hardware type was chosen...
Possibilities of the assesment concluded from laboratory biological experiments to test the effectiveness of antimicrobial mouth washes
Černá, Kateřina ; Pavlasová, Lenka (advisor) ; Skýbová, Jana (referee)
The diploma thesis concerns the possibilities of using the assesment of effectiveness of anti-microbe mouth washes. Two experiments were designed to be performed by students from grammar schools, high schools and medical polytechnics. The experiments should lead the students to the conclusion of the possibilities of cultivation of micro-organisms within the mouth and the realisation if the importance of correct oral hygiene. The laboratory experiments were successfully verified to be incorporated into the syllabus of grammar schools, high schools and medical polytechnics for dental hygienists.
