Venclovský, Jakub ; Druckmüller, Miloslav (referee) ; Štarha, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with issues, which are suitable to solve by the method of adaptive filtering of additive noise in image processing. It deduces an algorithm of the adaptive filtering method. Then it studies properties of this filter. In the end it applies deduced algorithm on a particular picture and compares the results with linear filtering.

Havelková, Pavla ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on the description and processing of the cell method, which is generally recommended for prediction of fluids temperature profiles in heat exchanger. In the thesis the basic equations for calculating heat transfer are presented and is also described the current situation in the field of computational prediction of fluids temperature profiles in heat exchangers. The cell method is solved by using the software Maple and is applied to the specific case of industrial heat exchangers. The results obtained by the cell method are compared with the results obtained by educational version of software HTRI Xchanger Suite. By this comparison explicitness of the cell method is assessed.

The flow of magnetic liquid with Bingham model application
Stejskal, Jan ; Krausová, Hana (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
Main topic of this thesis are magnetic fluids. These are specific type of fluids which can simplistically be considered as Bingham fluids. Main issues regarding the magnetic fluids mentioned in this thesis are: rheological properties of the magnetic fluids, behaviour of the magnetic fluids and the use of the magnetic fluids in industrial applications. Main goal is to apply Binghams model on the the magnetic fluids assuming that this model can be applied with a good accuracy. Equations which describe behaviour of the Bingham fluids are constructed. Some assumptions which have to be respected to use this analytical equations for magnetic fluids are formulated. Flow of bingham fluid is analytically solved in some simplificated cases with consideration of laminar flow. Analytical results are confronted with numerical ones obtained from CFD software Fluent for the purpose of verification.

Mathematical Programs for Dynamic Pricing - Demand Based Management
Tato stochastická úloha je modelována (reformulována) pomocí dvou přístupů stochastické optimalizace: wait-and-see přístup a here-and-now přístup.

Calculations of nanocrystalline diamond-covered waveguides based on amorphous silicon
Jirásek, Vít ; Prajzler, Václav ; Remeš, Zdeněk
Nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) coatings on planar waveguides (WG) in the IR region allow to design optical sensors sensitive to absorbers like proteins or other biomolecules. In this contribution, we present a 2D model of a multi-layer WG developed under FEM (finite element method) simulation software Comsol Multiphysics. The model is based on the modified wave equation solved in the frequency domain and includes optical absorption. It was found that for the single-mode WG working in the narrow region of 1550-2000 nm the silicon thickness must be 150-320 nm. It was found that in order to keep a reasonable signal attenuation, the NCD film must be prepared with the optical absorption coefficient lower than 10 cm-1, being a rather challenging task. Dependencies of the signal attenuation on the NCD film thickness, absorbing layer height, its absorption coefficient and exciting wavelengths are presented.\n

Interaction of a Fluid Flow with an Elastic Body
Mádlík, Martin ; Maršík, František (advisor) ; Kozel, Karel (referee) ; Rajagopal, K.R. (referee)
The interaction problem of incompressible fluid and incompressible elastic material in the so-called Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulation is be- ing studied in this thesis. After giving an overview of the essential principles of continuum mechanics in the moving domains, the fluid-structure interaction model is defined. Next, appropriate numerical scheme in three-dimensional space, based on finite element method, is presented and suitable numerical implementation is proposed. The properties of the presented numerical method are demonstrated on the number of numerical examples. The simplest approach, decoupling the problem into the fluid and solid parts and treating the interaction between them as an external boundary condition, is later revised by introducing the single continuum formulation. The interaction is then seen as an internal boundary, which does not require any special treatment. The proposed method allows to model the large deformations of an incom- pressible Neo-Hookean material, a flow of an incompressible power-law fluid and a mutual material interaction. The quasi-Newton method is used to solve with the original non-linear problem, while a direct solver is the tool that deals with the resulting linearized form. The numerical implementation takes advantage of parallel programming...

An aplication of the boundary element method to the problem of the crack in the vicinity of the bi-material interface
Sedláček, Stanislav ; Vrbka, Jan (referee) ; Profant, Tomáš (advisor)
There are many shape and other changes in the engineering constructions. These changes cause the concentration of the stress. There is a higher probability of the crack initiation in the vicinity of these stress concentrators. The problems of the crack can be solved nowadays only with help of sufficient numeric tools. The Boundary Element Method is one of the many numerical tools which offer the solution of some problems of the mechanics. The goal of this diploma thesis is to formulate boundary element method for the plane problem of the linear elasticity for izotropic material with different types of the stress concentrators.

Voldán, Adam ; Dostál, Luboš (referee) ; Hlubinka, Daniel (advisor)
In this thesis the Ito stochastic integral and the Stratonovich stochastic integrals are studied. Their basic and some special properties are shown. Further the theory of the numerical solution of stochastic differential equations (SDE) is introduced. Using simple examples the properties of chosen numerical schemes are presented. Finally the Black-Scholes-Merton formula for pricing of European call option is sketched, and similar problems are numerically solved using the above presented algorithms.

Determination of failure conditions of bi-material notches subjected to mixed mode of loading
Kopp, Dalibor ; Seitl, Stanislav (referee) ; Klusák, Jan (advisor)
In the range of linear elastic fracture mechanics, the conditions for critical loading assessment of structures made of two dissimilar materials are usually based on the assumptions of prevailing normal mode of loading. The same assumption is usually applied to the stability criterion of bi-material notches. However, in engineering practice there are cases of loading and failure closed to the shear mode. The aim of the work is the assumption of the stability criterion of bi-material notches subjected to combination of normal and shear loading. The FEM model of the bi-material notch under combination of normal and shear loading mode is created and solved and evaluated as well.
