Business Intelligence performance using Cloud Computing

The target of this bachelor thesis is to verify the effects and risks of Cloud Computing (CC) in the issue of Business Intelligence using a real, working project. The outcome is a defini-tion of the extent at which the effects and risks of CC apply to BI projects and their charac-teristics. I utilize my experiences and knowledge not merely about BI gained during my studies of Informatics at the University of Economics, Prague and also during my praxis as a BI ana-lyst. I reflect these knowledge of mine on common definitions of CC and achieve my already mentioned target. The main contribution of this thesis is a specific view on cloud BI disci-pline based on actual experience. In the introduction I define a few essential theoretical concepts, then I analyse the aspects of CC in BI and in the conclusion I evaluate my findings.

Specialities of the corporate environment, business and cultural specialities - Nicaragua

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to supply a comprehensive characteristic of Nicaragua. I tried to put a certain whole together which would enable to create a further notion of Nicaraguan corporate environment and local business and cultural specialities. The introductory part contains the basic information about the country. In the next chapter, I attend to economic and political situation in the country, investment climate and also the problems which a Nicaraguan market has to face. The cultural specialities describe the basic features of Nicaragua culture and the chapter Business specialities supplies information important for successful negotiation in Nicaragua. The thesis also contains the analysis of mutual business co-operation between the Czech Republic and Nicaragua.

Formation of Global Civil Society: Reaction to Problems of Globalization

This Master's thesis focuses on the possibilities of a global civil society to reduce the negative consequences of economic globalization. In the opening general part, special attention is given to problems caused by corporate strategies in production in developing countries. The current official mechanisms of corporate accountability are also discussed and considered as insufficient. Some new tendencies to promote the corporate social and environmental responsibility have emerged in recent decades. The agencies of a global civil society have been playing a very important role in these processes. The formation of a global civil society, its ambitions and risks are also studied in the general part of the thesis. The global civil society roles and possibilities of influencing the globalization processes are discussed also from the perspective of relevant theoretical concepts in the theoretical part. The empirical part of the thesis is based on a qualitative analysis of the campaign Business and Human Rights carried out by Czech global civil society organizations. Using Ruby on Rails for supporting team collaboration of developers

Thema of this master thesis is Using Ruby on Rails for support of team collaboration of developers. The main objective is support of team collaboration of developers (students of programming courses) at the Catedry of Computer Science of the University of Economics Prague. The objective has been acomplished by developement of a new application in Ruby on Rails on the school server kitscm.vse.cz. This application is used for support of team collaboration. Application automatizes some of procedures, which were made on the server kitscm.vse.cz manually in the past. Application collaborates with another open-source applications (openldap, dokuwiki, subversion) running on the kitscm.vse.cz server. After the introduction (chapter 1), follows familiarization with Ruby and Ruby on Rails (chapter 2), analysis and design of the application (chapter 3), familirization with application operational architecture (chapter 4) and example of development of part of the application (chapter 5). Main benefit is an application supporting team collaboration, which is used by students and teachers. The whole application is available on http://sourceforge.net/projects/kitscm/ under GPL license.

The impacts of rapid economic growth on the environment in China

China's economic miracle is more than impressive. The thesis focuses on the factors influencing the development of economic situation in recent years. It is pointed out the connection between rapid economic growth and substantial deterioration of the environment, particularly the air pollution. The chinese authorities have recently adopted strict measures and regulations to predict the negative impacts of pollution on the living standard of inhabitants. It is obvious that the questions concerned the environmental issues need to be discussed at international level. There have been decsribed some agreements of bilateral and regional characters as well as multilateral commitments of Chinese People's Republic.

Czech medical staff in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - process of recruitment, selection, motivation, (job)adaption, their experience

Sametová revoluce v Československu v roce 1989 změnila téměř vše a všechny. Politické a ekonomické změny šly ruku v ruce s těmi společenskými a kulturními. Měnil se a mění se životní styl Čechů. Ti začali vyhledávat nové možnosti - pracovní i osobní. Hranice země se otevřely, jak pro lidi přicházející ze zahraničí, tak pro Čechy vyjíždějící do ciziny. Vstup ČR do Evropské unie pak tento trend ještě podpořil, ulehčil formální i praktickou stránku pobytu v řadě evropských zemí a zařadil ČR do skupiny prosperujících zemí. Češi stále více hledají studijní či pracovní uplatnění mtmo svou zemi a využívají mnoha programů i pracovních kontraktů. Nejezdí ovšem jen do Německa, Rakouska či na britské ostrovy, ale také - i když méně často - např. do zemí Jižní Ameriky a Asie. Téměř každý mladý člověk buď sám do zahraničí na delší pobyt vyjel nebo zná někoho, kdo tak učinil. Tento jev tedy není výjimkou. VY.imeme-li však pro Čechy vždy atraktivní západní Evropu, USA a Kanadu, odmyslíme-li si občanský sektor a jeho mise, zůstává ještě určitá oblast, kam se Češi vydávají za prací. Střední Východ. Konkrétně pak země Perského zálivu. Spolupráce s těmito zeměmi probíhala i během socialismu. Vyjíždělo sem však jen velmi malé procento lidí - obvykle vědců, lékařů a případně těch, kteří pracovali v politicko-obchodních službách...

Ekonomické vztahy EU vůči Číně na začátku nového tisíciletí

Práce se zabývá analýzou vývoje vzájemných vztahů EU ? Čína v průběhu 90. let 20. století a na počátku nového tisíciletí. Zkoumá oficiální politické dokumenty EU ve vztahu k Číně a jejich obsah porovnává s reálnými vztahy, zejména v oblasti obchodu, zahraničních investic a služeb. Cílem práce je odpovědět na otázky, zda v průběhu uvedeného období došlo k posunu v kvalitě vzájemných vztahů, odhalit třecí plochy spolupráce a uvést možná doporučení, která by vedla ke zlepšení stávající situace.
