Kuchařová, Monika ; Ďoubal, Stanislav (advisor) ; Hanuš, Josef (referee) ; Petrtýl, Miroslav (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of biophysics and physical chemistry Candidate: Mgr. Monika Kuchařová Supervisor: Prof. Ing. RNDr. Stanislav Ďoubal, CSc. Title of Doctoral Thesis: The methodology of measurement of biomechanical properties of biological materials As a part of this dissertation thesis a methodology of measurement of mechanical properties of viscoelastic materials was developed. The methodology was then verified and applied in measurement of shoulder-blades of pheasants and in measurement of the trabecular section of human caput femoris in bending and twisting stress, viscoelastic parameters of these materials were also calculated. Results, in the case of human bones, were compared with measurement of body mass density and content of vitamin D. Mechanical behaviour of many biological materials corresponds to the behaviour of so- called viscoelastic body. These materials cannot be categorized simply as solids or liquids. The mechanical behaviour of this type of materials has partially elastic and partially viscose character. Skin, cell walls, bones, numerous structures of internal organs and many other materials belong to this category. In spite of the fact that in physiological conditions biological materials are loaded dynamically, in...

Title: Preparation of Nanocomposites TiOx/Plasma Polymer and Study of Their Properties Author: Mgr. Martin Drábik Department: Department of Macromolecular Physics Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Hynek Biederman, DrSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: bieder@kmf.troja.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: This thesis concerns a study of nanocomposite films TiOx/plasma polymer prepared by various deposition techniques using different organic precursors. Processes of deposition of the films were diagnosed in-situ by means of OES and measuring the deposition rate by QCM. Properties of the nanocomposite films were studied by various characterization techniques. Wettability of the films was described by means of the contact angle of water. Morphology of the nanocomposites was characterized by AFM, TEM and SEM. Elemental analysis and chemical composition of the films were studied by XPS, RBS, SIMS and FTIR. Crystal structure of TiO2 films was identified by XRD. Optical characterization of the prepared films was done by UV-Vis spectroscopy. Electrical properties of the samples were characterized by I-V and SPV measurements. In the end, 'wet' chemical processes were utilized for preparation of both TiO2 nanostructures and organic films for comparison with vacuum deposition techniques and plasma polymer composite films. Keywords: nanocomposite...

Mrklasová, Marta ; Žák, Květoslav (advisor) ; Spirit, Michal (referee)
A bachelor's work titled "The selection of an appropriate legal form to found a sports club in a certain situation" was created in 2013 by Marta Mrklasová, a student at the University of Economics, Prague, Faculty of International Relations, at the Departement of Business and European Law under the supervision of Mr. Mgr. Květoslav Žák. It evaluates an appropriateness of selected legal forms to found a sports club in a specific situation. The aim of this work is to choose the most suitable legal form to found a sports club, whose intent is to provide leisure sports activities for children, youth and adults in the field of aerobic gymnastics on the recreational level. The selection was made on the basis of general characteristics of selected legal forms, detecting useful information about those legal forms and consultations with several entities, which already exist in similar sectors. The result of this work is a selection of probably the most suitable legal form, a civic association. Among other the basic steps to create a civic association were described. This work can be an inspiration for potential founders of sports club in similar situation.

Title: Creation of radicals in electric discharge supersonic plasma jet Author: Milan MaSat Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Milan Tichy, DrSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: Milan.Tichy@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: Free radicals are the key intermediates and propagators of chemical reactions in Earth's atmosphere. Study of their structure and chemical properties is vital for understanding the processes in atmosphere. But their high reactivity brings the need for specific research methods. In-situ preparation and non-invasive detection and characterization techniques are needed. Most commonly used laboratory techniques such as photodissociation or electric discharge generate radicals at temperatures that are significantly higher then those under atmospheric conditions, which we intendto model. In this work, I was developing a source of cold radicals and experimental techniques for measuring their properties. 1 combined plasma source, which creates sufficient concentrations of radicals with supersonic expansion in which the translational and internal degrees of freedom are cooled deeply below the room temperature. For their characterization I used high-resolution spectroscopy utilizing near infrared laser diodes. I also developed and built electronic circuits and software...

Charles University in Prague, Fakulty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of: Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Candidate: Mgr. Olga Wanková Consultant: RNDr. Marie Musilová, Csc. Title of Thesis: Thermal analysis of interaction of epidermal lipids VII. The main components of epidermal lipids are ceramides and cholesterol. Using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), this dissertation explores the interaction between cholesterol and pseudoceramide 14S24, synthesized at the Department of Inor- ganic and Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague. Eleven samples of different composition were analyzed. The concentrations of individual components in the samples ranged between 0% and 100%. The mixture of components was weighed in measuring cups. It was then heated and cooled in DSC until subsequent records showed changes in temperature characte- ristics. The temperatures characteristics of individual mixtures were determined. Key words: ceramides, DSC, epidermis, cholesterol, stratum corneum, pseudoceramide 14S24

Ďurčík, Matej ; Komárek, Arnošt (advisor) ; Kulich, Michal (referee)
Title: Moments Estimation under Type I Interval Censoring Author: Matej Ďurčík Department: Faculty of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: RNDr. Arnošt Komárek Ph.D. Abstract: In this thesis we apply the uniform deconvolution model to the interval censoring problem. We restrict ourselves only on interval censoring case 1. We show how to apply uniform deconvolution model in estimating the probability distribution characteristics in the interval censoring case 1. Moreover we derive limit distributions of the estimators of mean and variance. Then we compare these estimators to the asymptotically efficient estimators based on the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimation by simulation studies under some certain distributions of the random variables. 1

Cranial variability of Centra European beaver populations
Oberreiterová, Veronika ; Vorel, Aleš (advisor) ; Korbelová, Jana (referee)
Abstract: European beaver population in Central Europe originated from several refugial populations. Although these populations are currently well-researched, but the manifestations that may reflect genetic variability, are not known. In the Czech Republic there are beavers who spread from Saxony, from Magdeburg refugia, and other stocks that are created by beavers from Austria and Bavaria, or are the offspring of individuals coming from refuges in Poland, Russia, Norway and France. There are many indications that individuals from northern Bohemia (Elbe individuals of the population) have a considerable amount of differences. The aim of this study was to determine the exact age of mortalities beaver from the collection of the Department of Ecology FES. The most accurate estimate of the age is the closing of the basal opening of the tooth root and the sum of cement layers molars, but this method is time-consuming and technically challenging and therefore the work of trying to find another reliable criterion to determine the age of mortalities in the form of intervals of specific characteristics for each age class (juvenil, subadult, adult). Using statistical analysis, I conclude that the most cranial size determination for individuals age the length dimension is LCB (condyobasal length of the skull) and LAZ (zygomatic width of the skull). The most appropriate metristic characteristic to estimate the age appeared weight.
